"WaterHouse", thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated vacation home on private protected Potato Cove. The exterior is classic cedar shingle; the interior furnishings are perfect summer elegance – a mix of antiques and new.
Sliding doors extend the entire water side of the house, bringing in sweeping views of Eggemoggin Reach, from the Deer Isle Bridge to the Benjamin River. Step through the doors onto the full-length porch and spend an afternoon watching the local boat traffic, including the windjammer fleet out of Rockland.
Go down the steps off the porch, and through the spruce tree lined path to your private beach on Potato Cove. The cove is constantly changing with the tide. Swim at high tide or examine the sea life of the inter-tidal zone as the tide ebbs.
The house’s fully appointed kitchen has Bosch appliances, quality cookware, cherry countertops, open shelves, European pottery. The cook will find it as practical as it is beautiful.
The spacious dining and living rooms and two master bedrooms have water views. There is a gas fireplace in the open living/dining room to take the chill out of the evening air.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor - a master bedroom with queen bed and children’s room with two twin beds. There is a full bathroom with roomy walk-in shower.
The second floor has a master bedroom with queen bed and balcony porch from which to view the Reach. Another children’s room – this one very large – has a pair of twin beds. The bathroom on this floor has a tub with shower. There is also a den on the second floor landing, furnished as a living room/playroom area.
You will find a small separate "screen house" on the property for your use as a get-away to read, relax, have lunch or a cold drink.
The house would accommodate two families very comfortably – providing each with similar accommodations.
