Lago Correntoso is Costa Rica at its most beautiful. We are renting a lodge set up on a ridge above the beach with total privacy and breathtaking views, (please note that the property also has an independent newly built guest house that sleeps 4 additional guests, please ask about the guest house if you need more space).
The lodge is set in almost two hectares (four and three quarter acres) of private tropical parkland in Pavones, Golfito, backed by woodland and neighboring primary rain forest and connected to a wildlife corridor.
There is a 300 m walk to the beach. The famous Pavones left breaking wave is 1.5 kms from the property, offering world class surfing. Don't worry if you are a beginner. There are safe and gentle surf spots and surfing lessons are available.
The wildlife is extraordinary you may see three species of monkey, Tucans, scarlet macaws, sloths, whales, Pesotis and much much more without even leaving the property!
Lago Correntoso is just two hours from Golfito (there is an airport here) with its new luxury yacht marina under construction and a top sports fishing fleet. And an hour and a half from the border with Panama with the City of David (also with airport) within easy reach.
Lago Correntoso means lake of many currents and this enigmatic name, inherited by the current owners, suggests both the calm and the underlying energy of this fascinating place. The wild, unspoiled beaches, the forests, wildlife and sea are breathtaking.
The heart of Lago Correntoso is the tropical lodge with wonderful views of the ocean and backed by forest set in landscaped tropical parkland. It is a completely private and secure location.
There is a swimming pool. There are two air-conditioned bed rooms in the ‘casita’ (little house) each with a private bathroom.
The master bedroom is a huge 48 sq meter Polynesian style wood pavilion with its own bathroom and large walk in closet. The shower has an uninterrupted ocean view!
At the centre is a kitchen and living area opening out on to terraces and the pool. All the living areas are connected by covered walk ways and all have spectacular views. The lodge is set in tropical parkland. There is 150 meters of paved drive way with an entrance system and covered parking area leading directly to the lodge.

All the prices and information refer to the lodge only, but you can ask us about renting the guest house (about 100m from the lodge). The whole of Lago Correntoso is special and we believe the photographs on our web site speak for themselves.
Pavones has been called ‘the end of the road’ and just 40 years ago there was no road, just an exuberant rain forest tumbling down towards wild beaches. The first Costa Rican settlers cleared farms near the beaches and discovered the large forest turkeys (Pavones) which gave the small community its name.
In the 1980’s young foreign surfers arrived in ever increasing numbers attracted by one the world’s best and longest left breaking waves.
Some stayed and bought tracts of land for from the local ‘Ticos’. So today, Pavones is an intriguing mixture of Europeans, North Americans and Latin Americans, it has a unique culture in Costa Rica.
It can be an adventure in itself to arrive at Pavones and you be rewarded with privacy, peace, and by the unspoilt magnificence of nature at its richest.

Sleep with the gentle ocean breezes! the King size bed is protected by an insect net. This pavilion (including the bathroom) has tremendous ocean views! It is very romantic!

- Complete privacy assured, the layout of the lodge means you cannot be overlooked. Ask about security if required. You may rent an additional guest house on the property - please ask about the guest house if you would like to bring your own staff, security or wish to have more space and privacy in your group. (The guest house sleeps 4 additional guests). Ask about a daily maid service and catering is possible. Also ask about transport from nearest airport (Golfito o Coto 47). Car hire can be organized. Tours and activities organized if required.
