3 BR, 2 bath Craftsman style house with lots of charm - well maintained with many original details intact. Very clean, sunny and bright. Large kitchen, living room, dining room, deluxe spa/hot tub. Nice private fenced garden with fruit trees, herbs, etc. Hardwood floors, large windows, washer/dryer, dishwasher. Located on quiet street (Stuart St at Ellsworth St) in peaceful setting, but convenient to everything - very close to UC campus, restaurants, grocery stores, cinemas, BART, buses, etc. On Demand with HDTV, 2 TVs with DVD players.
Master suite has a large sleeping loft (over 200 sq ft) with skylights and private patio, plus office downstairs. There are 2 smaller bedrooms (about 140 sq ft and 100 sq ft) -the smaller room has windows on three sides and overlooks the garden. Note that the smaller room has a small armoire but no closet of its own. There is a full bath and half bath inside, plus an outdoor (enclosed) shower next to the hot tub.
Master suite has queen bed and other bedrooms have double beds. There is an extra mattress under the bed in each room (total of 3). There are also 2 convertible futons in the living room (both double size). Also includes a guest "treehouse" - small rustic building with folding double size futon.
Pets welcome. Cat door and securely fenced back yard for dogs.

We stayed in the home for 5 weeks while working at Berkeley. The house was very convenient to campus, the public library, tennis courts, park, movie theaters, Berkeley Bowl, Whole Foods, and wonderful restaurants. We rented a car but rarely had to use it. We could also walk to the Bart to ride into San Francisco. The house had a nice hot tub to relax in. We have two children aged 8 and 11. They enjoyed playing in the tree house. The owner was very helpful and responsive. If we are lucky enough to get to return to Berkeley, we will rent the home again.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

Our family stayed for a long weekend for my son's graduation. Excellent location close to BART, UC campus, and grocery. Large well equiped, comfortable home. Owner was very easy to work with. Highly recommend this rental.

We stayed here for six months. The location is very convenient to the grocery store, neighboring town, and Berkeley campus. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. The house is quite large and well furnished and equipped. The hot tub is fantastic. The owner was responsive and friendly when dealing with any small repairs. We highly recommend for either a short or long stay.

Our family had a great stay in this loveley Berkeley home. We were a family party of 6 with kids from 6 to 14 and my father-in-law and we all enjoyed our stay. Its a lovely, friendly neighbourhood with the campus and other Berkeley attractions close by. As a jogger I loved morning runs in the nearby hills. The great Berkeley Bowl foodstore is nearby and the nearby Ashby BART station has you in central SF very quickly and cheaply. The house was very comfortable and the hot tub after a long day sightseeing was just great. We looked at staying in SF itself but are really glad that we opted for Berkeley and this home.
