All bathrooms are granite, slate and/or travertine with random flagstone in the high traffic areas and soft carpet in the family areas and bedrooms. Indirect and mood lighting throughout.
The home is set up for entertainment for everyone or just relax on the deck and enjoy the views. Excellent hiking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails are a five minute drive or easy walk away.
Bike trails are abundant in the area. Try the bike lift at North Star for downhill (at this time free during the week!) . Hiking trails are endless and beautiful. Lake fishing companies out of Tahoe City if you don’t have your own boat, and of course all the lake activities. Amazing golf, miniature golf, hiking, cycling, rafting, fishing and year round casinos await you!
You are less than 20 minutes from 5 major ski resorts of Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Mt. Rose and North Star. There are numerous shops in Tahoe City and fine restaurants all along the North Shore. Casinos are also about 15-20 minutes away and we conveniently located only 7 minutes from Tahoe City with shopping and great restaurants.
We provide a concierge book with activities, maps, coupons and restaurant / shopping recommendations to help you fully enjoy your stay in our home.
Pets are ok with pet fee, but are not allowed on beds or furniture(see our pet policy). For those who smoke, please do so outside only – this includes cigar smokers – sorry. We leave our shoes in the interior entry.
Please be advised, this property has a driveway or an access road that could be considered steep. Anyone renting this property during the snow season (NOV 15-APR 15) must bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle and/or always carry chains. Winter/snow tires will be required.

Accessibility to everything! Close to hiking, kayaking, sledding, skiing (many slopes are within 10 miles or less), The lake views are incredible (well its only 250 yards from the lake! and downtown Tahoe City is only 3.4 miles away! Great restaurants and great neighbors. Very dog-friendly neighborhood for the kids to do! We really enjoy the new Plasma Tv's and the dartboard too... everyone comes up to relax, sit on the deck and our friends love it! Very relaxing...and you can still get your email!
Great Village w/ sushi and candle making for the kids. summer has free scenic lifts sun-Thursday. and of course great skiing!
Views of the whole lake, Great food, kid friendly, awesome for large groups. Try a Wet Woody!

We stayed in the Bear Lake Lodge over the long MLK weekend with three other families. We had lots of little kids (7 ages 18 months to five years old) and the home was perfect. Lots of space, lots of bathrooms, beautifully appointed. We put the quieter families on one floor and the louder (teething, etc.) families on the other floor, and everyone got good nights sleep. They provided everything you could need - extra linens, lots of towels, kitchen basics (plus very nice cooking and service pieces), sleds, etc. We really felt at home. We're already planning trips back in the summer and winter.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The furnishings are anything but your typical rental. Everything is very high quality, the kind of stuff you would love in your own home. For techies and audiophiles the audio/video system is nothing short of amazing. We stayed over Christmas and filled the house with all kinds of Christmas music through the XM channels available on the stereo system. The downstairs game room was a huge hit with the kids (and the adults).

I'll agree with the other reviewers and say this is the best house I have ever rented. I got compliments all weekend for finding such a great place! The house is filled with high-quality furnishings and nice touches, including several huge flat screen TVs and what has to be the nicest full-house stereo system one can buy. The kitchen has more than enough pots, plates, glasses and utensils (and space) for cooking for a large group. While adults will appreciate these amenities, I can imagine kids loving the lower level, which has several table games, board games, and a hot tub. It comfortably slept 11 people; several could fit on the floor. I would recommend this house to anyone visiting Lake Tahoe's north side.

This beautiful home is built, maintained and appointed with top of the line materials, furnishings and amenities, far beyond what the pictures can show. It was perfect for our group of 10: three couples, my mother, and three "kids" age 21, 18 and 9. Each couple had their own king bedroom suite and everyone had plenty of space and comfort. The home is equipped with state of the art electronics (wall controls in each room for the sound system, ipod dock, fabulous flat-screen TVs), great family entertainment (fusbol table, ping pong/air hockey table, board games galore), several decks from which to enjoy sitting or eating outside, a fabulous large hot tub, outside swinging chairs, a top of the line kitchen with two ovens, warming drawer, great cooktop, blender, etc etc. We couldn't have asked for a better place! Todd and Nina are very responsive and available. When we arrived Todd was there and took the time to answer all our questions, provide explanations for all the electronics, and share his personal favorites for hiking and eating out. We highly recommend this property!! Enjoy!

This is the best house I've ever rented! It's new and has many luxury touches in the building materials and amenities, as well as beautiful furnishings. It was perfect for our family reunion, which included 4 couples and one 9-year-old child. We loved that every couple had a king bed and a bathroom. The house could accommodate even more people, so we had lots of room. The owners were extremely helpful, starting with my first inquiry about the house and continuing throughout the rental process. They are very professional and are sincerely interested in making sure you have everything you need. The house is in a nice neighborhood and it was easy to drive to Northstar and Squaw Valley for riding the gondolas up the mountain and hiking, as well as to Kings Beach and Tahoe City for kayaking, restaurants, etc.

What a great house! Everything you need and then some! The lay out of the house is wonderful for family's. Kids enjoyed all the fun and entertainment down stairs while the adults enjoyed relaxing upstairs. :) Great location! We were minutes from everything. The owners are friendly and make you feel very welcome. We will be back next year for our family vacation to Tahoe.

We spent 3 nights in LUXURY! Our Tahoe trip couldn't have been more perfect. This is the perfect home for large families. The owner's of Bear Lake Lodge have gone above and beyond every single detail in this home. They've thought of every amenity a renter might need or want. The Master bedrooms/bathrooms are luxurious and well appointed with high quality bath products. Seriously, the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. All the comforters are premium down, and the linens were soft & cozy, (smelled good too) perfect for a winter's night! The air hockey/pool table (game room) was a huge hit with my kids. The 3 large plasma TV's are perfectly located throughout the house so that anyone can enjoy a movie or a ball game - without bothering others(they even had a great stock of popular movies.) The house's location is truly ideal, it's close to the (commons)beach, shops, and casinos. We've rented several different homes in Tahoe before, this house is by far our favorite! We can't wait to return in the Summer.
