Comfortable cottage in the woods. A giant bed and quiet nights. A view of a meadow and woods. Deer. Molly, best dog ever. You get here from the heart of Chapel Hill driving just a few minutes on a hilly country road, past pastures and horses and old country houses into a private world. Weaver Street Market and funky Carrborro nearby or far away--your choice.

My husband and I had a relaxing and cozy visit to our alma mater. Emmett South Cottage was especially warm and comfortable during freezing temps. The location was perfect to visit any of the surrounding towns with easy access to the highway. We spent our days visiting UNC, Duke, Carolina Tiger Rescue, Duke Lemur Center, Starrlight Meadery, Eno River State Park...and lets not forget, Carolina Basketball game and Dean Smith Museum. It was a wonderful winter vacation and the cottage was "home"for the 10 days we visited. Our 2 schnauzers still perk their ears when I ask about Molly or the chickens. And they loved romping in the woods for daily walks. Many thanks to Heather and her family for sharing their cottage. We highly recommend these accommodations.

Heather and her 4 legged hostess Molly could not have been nicer to stay with. We truly felt a part of her family, and our dog is still sad that she had to leave her new best friend. Molly made this stay a true delight. We stayed a month, but it felt like a few days. We had all the creature comforts, and really enjoyed the "in the country" feel to their home. If you enjoy the outdoors, appreciate the privacy of being away from urban life, but only a short drive from anything you need....and have a dog that would enjoy romping around with Molly,...this cottage is perfect.

My husband and I recently spent 3 weeks at this lovely and inviting loft in the country. The loft is decorated with an eye for making it feel like home. It was very clean and outfitted with anything you could need. The hosts were very warm, friendly and helpful. The location was peaceful, beautiful and close enough to Carrboro and Chapel Hill to be convenient. I can't imagine a better place to stay in the Triangle!

The loft was lovely and in a quiet location, yet minutes from Carborro and Chapel Hill. The host's recommendations for restaurants and things to-do made all the difference and everything we tried was great. Don't miss the restaurant Kitchen, or a walk around the botannical gardens at UNC.

Thank you, Heather for all the comforts of home (and THEN some!!) found here at Emmett South Cottage. During our whirlwind trip to preview, visit and choose an apartment location for my daughter's move for her Ph.D. program at UNC, this spot was the perfect unwind, relax and enjoy location at the end of each busy day. How I wish she could simply live right here.

Recently my mother, two dogs and I had the pleasure of staying in this charming cottage for a long weekend. It was the perfect place, spacious enough for all of us. Heather was a great hostess and has made this cottage into a wonderful home away from home. The cottage was adorable, nicely decorated, private and the grounds were beautiful. My dogs liked roaming around the yard and meeting sweet Molly. We're familiar with Chapel Hill and it was a very quick drive into town from the cottage. Just perfect.

Thank you for helping to make our 6 days in Carrboro/Chapel Hill/Durham area just perfect! With all of the family events in the celebration of our Ph.D. graduate and birthday and Mother's Day, your cottage provided a great refuge and place of rest and relaxation after our busy days and evenings. We found everything we needed to be comfortable and content~ The breakfast snacks you put together were perfect. It has felt like home, and Molly surely helped us to feel at home and miss our dog just a little less. We look forward to our next visit

My husband, smal dog and I had a very peaceful stay. The loft is very comfortable and Heather was always ready to answer questions. It is very clean and well maintained. There is even a small deck to sit among the budding trees and enjoy a meal or glass of wine. Our dog enjoyed being invited out "to play" with their dog, Molly. It is an easy drive in to Carrboro's Weaver Street Market and all that happens there. We will recommend this place to anyone.

How incredibly gracious to provide the food and drinks, and I really loved the Lemongrass soap. You know how to provide special touches. Can't say enough, so I'll just say Thank you.

About the owner: My husband and I and our 2 kids moved to Chapel Hill, from Long Island, NY in May of 2008. We immediately fell in love with the charm of Chapel Hill and Carborro. It's sense of community, it's commitment to the environment and green-spaces. We especially love the scenic drive to our property just minutes from Carborro and Chapel Hill. The rolling hills, meadows, farms and woods captivated us...and we couldn't imagine ourselves anywhere else but Carolina!

We love going to Weaver Street Market on Sunday mornings for breakfast and music. We LOVE watching our sporting events at Tylers and then having Maple View Farms icecream afterwards! YUM
