Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2008
My husband and I and our 2 kids moved to Chapel Hill, from Long Island, NY in May of 2008. We immediately fell in love with the charm of Chapel Hill and Carborro. It's sense of community, it's commitment to the environment and green-spaces. We especially love the scenic drive to our property just minutes from Carborro and Chapel Hill. The rolling hills, meadows, farms and woods captivated us...and we couldn't imagine ourselves anywhere else but Carolina!
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
We love going to Weaver Street Market on Sunday mornings for breakfast and music. We LOVE watching our sporting events at Tylers and then having Maple View Farms icecream afterwards! YUM

The loft was a home away from home. The photos give just a hint of the beautiful setting and lovely accommodations. The location is just a short drive from all of the bustle in the campus area of Chapel Hill and provides easy access to all that the area has to offer. Heather provided everything we needed in the loft, she was helpful and her suggestions on nearby activities and attractions were accurate and fun. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!
Owner response:I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. See you again, soon, I hope!

Not one complaint, or rating under 5 stars from the other reviews. Could that be true? YES!!! My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic long weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment setting, the amenities, and the owner's hospitality. We’ve stayed in a number of hotels in the area which were all very nice, but the loft was perfect. It had so much more than standard lodging…lots of room to spread out, plus super clean, plus quality appointments, plus peace and quiet, plus beautiful scenery, all with a laid back, casual feel. So easy to relax and enjoy the visit. Heather and family were friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. We felt like we were totally secluded in a woodsy bungalow. We are lucky to have found this unique lodging option for visiting our transplanted grad student daughter. We’re already planning our next stay!
Owner response:Thanks for your kind review! I look forward to seeing you again~

We just returned from staying in this beautiful loft, and we loved every minute! It is tucked away off of a country road, and it is very quiet and welcoming. Heather is wonderful to work with, and she answered all my emails so quickly! She stocks the refrigerator with breakfast items, including eggs from their own chickens. (although I was in such a hurry to get out on my bicycle, I never took the time to cook them!) Speaking of bicycles, this loft is in a perfect location for bike riding. Carrboro is a bicycle friendly town, and it seems like everyone is out on a bike! You will love the riding, and the local bike shop provides a good route map. Getting back to the loft, all the furnishings are of high quality, and the bed is so comfortable. Our adult daughter stayed with us, and she used the futon in the main room. (she said it was very comfortable) I highly recommend this accommodation--make your reservation before someone else does! One final note--there are two resident pets, a wonderful cat and a very friendly dog. The cat loves to sleep right outside the loft door, on the deck. What a nice touch! We loved it there!!!!!!!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words; I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Molly and Mojo will be thrilled about their shout-out! :~)

I can not say how pleased we were with the Loft! We stayed there early August 2011, two small children and two adults. We put the kids in the Bedroom and my Husband and I stayed on the futon in the main room. The loft was clean and had everything you could want, Basic breakfast stuff and all condiments are supplied in the kitchen. The location was awesome, just a few minutes from Carrboro and Chapel Hill, but far enough away where the only noise you heard was the symphony of crickets and the morning rooster (and he actually was pretty quiet, I have heard noisier roosters). Amazing for the money, we plan on staying here again in February.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay~ See you again soon.

We stayed here for a long weekend, while visiting my wife's daughter who attends UNC. The loft is charming and comfortable on a wonderful property. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer. As has been pointed out elsewhere, Molly, the family dog and unofficial concierge, is one of the best features.

My husband Alex, myself and dog Maizy stayed here for almost two weeks. We LOVED it. So quiet and peaceful yet minutes away from Chapel Hill. We took long walks across the fields every morning. This place is so comfortable and the queen bed was just right. If you like the sound of birds, enjoy fresh eggs and country walks this place is for you. Molly the family dog won our hearts. We will be back. Thanks Heather.
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words, Jan! I think Molly went through a little dog-pression when Maizy left. Looking forward to seeing you again!

My husband and I stayed at "the loft" for over a week while working in the area. The apartment is located in a nice, peaceful area. It was a treat to see the fruit and breakfast items provided by the owner waiting for our arrival. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations. We would gladly stay again if given the opportunity. .

This was a great way to spend a week in Chapel Hill visiting friends and planning our move. the apartment was lovely and spacious (and cool in this hot weather.) Heather and her family were welcoming and our dogs (2 small ones)loved the grounds and playing with Molly. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen roomy, great fresh eggs and nice flowers from the garden. We felt right at home and will come back!

My husband and I just stayed here for a week while checking out the area for possible relocation. The setting of the loft was very relaxing and peaceful. When we arrived there was milk, eggs, orange juice, bagels, cereal, and fruit. It was so nice not to have to run to the store right away to stock up on essentials. We especially enjoyed the outside balcony/deck and the roomy kitchen. The loft had a great "home away from home" feeling.
Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay!

We traveled from our home in Pennsylvania to Chapel Hill for the first time to watch some sporting events at UNC. The loft was simply outstanding. Very comfortable, very clean and minutes from the UNC campus. The Emmett's were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcomed! We plan to return to Chapel Hill in the near future and we will not hesitate to stay in this beautiful country setting!
