Low Key Cottage is a 1350 sq ft cottage located in the heart of the Old Village of Port Royal. Enjoy your morning coffee, relaxing in the private courtyard, knowing that this cottage has been licensed and safety inspected by the Town of Port Royal.
We are conveniently located one block off Paris Avenue, on 12th Street-within walking distance of three popular restaurants in the Village. A brief three minute walk from our back door finds you at Dockside's Restaurant, complete with a fleet of shrimp boats, wonderful sunsets and a family of dolphins! Parris Island is 5 minutes away and a scenic 20 minute ride through the 'Carolina Lowcountry' takes you to one of South Carolina's nicest Beaches (Hunting Island State Park).
Upstairs, the Master Bedroom has tray ceilings, a custom closet and an enormous bathroom featuring separate vanities. The West Bedroom comes complete with its own private bathroom, walk-in closet and a sitting desk with beautiful views of Spanish Moss hanging from Angel Oak trees.
The custom kitchen has an eat in counter with a lovely sitting area that overlooks the private court yard. The open space living / dining area have heart of pine floors. The Dining area easily seats six or more. There is a new, queen-size sleeper sofa in the living area with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress. Also, a 32" HDTV, HD Cable and a DVD has been provided for your enjoyment.
We enjoyed spending this past summer getting Low Key Cottage ready for your stay... but mostly, we enjoyed the evening walks that included Dolphins, Blue Heron, Brown Pelicans, and the beautiful sunsets at Dockside's that are only minutes out our back door. We know that you will too!

A wonderful cottage, particularly for anyone going to Parris Island graduation. The location was ideal - quiet but only a few minutes to the base. A very comfortable house. Nicely decorated and the owners have tried to think of everything you'd need. There's a waterfront restaurant within walking distance and a great Thai restaurant only a few blocks away, but it's not a noisy commercial community which makes it ideal for a rest from those early morning visits to PI on family day and graduation.

My husband, sister-in-law, and her husband enjoyed a 4-day stay in the Low-Key Cottage. We found it clean, well-decorated, and spacious. All of us were comfortable in the kitchen and soon within the community. Bob and Franny have thoughtfully provided information about the region, tips about restaurants, and other useful directions. We had a wonderful day at Hunting Island Park, too. Shucks, why didn't we plan to stay longer! Next time.

Low Key Cottage was absolutely perfect!! We needed a place to stay - we were attending our son's graduation from Marine Boot Camp. Coming in from 14 hours away (in northwest Ohio) we decided to make it into a vacation with our two daughters. We ended up staying a week, and it was sooo much better (and more fun!) than a hotel!! It was just charming! It was the perfect size! It was clean and comfortable and decorated so nicely! (It's even better than the pictures!!) Loved the quaint little patio outside - so quiet and private! The owners could not have been any nicer! I was impressed that everything we needed (kitchen supplies & utensils, bedding, towels, etc) was right there waiting for us, all we needed to bring was food and our luggage and we were ready to move in and enjoy! We brought our son "home" for his first night of "freedom" to the cottage for a home-cooked meal and a nice comfy bed! I really wanted him to feel like he was part of our vacation, and the cottage was just the thing! We enjoyed Hunting Island Beach immensly - even took our son there for the afternoon after graduation! (Short drive to get there, and definitely worth it in scenery and a gorgeous beach!) Low Key Cottage was in a great location - minutes from Parris Island, and Charleston was just a short drive too! Port Royal was a charming little community, but not far from Beaufort if you wanted a little bigger city. Hoping to come back to Low Key Cottage someday for "just a vacation"! We will continue to highly recommend this cottage to anyone with a Marine graduate or anyone just looking for a nice, laid-back vacation or get-away!

Adorable Cottage/Graduation Stay

We rented this Cottage for my grandson's Graduation at Paris Island. When we entered the Cottage, we were just so happy to see how wonderful the Cottage was. It was so inviting, and homey, and completely stocked with everything. The Cottage was set up just perfect, and the bedrooms upstairs were both master bedrooms. I am a horrible sleeper, and I slept the whole night, each night I was there...I wanted to take home the mattress ! It is just minutes to Paris Island, (which is a plus so early in the morning). Its easy to find and get to...we loved it. We have already talked about returning for just a vacation,.... and the owners are wonderful, and so easy to work with. The town of Port Royal was fun to see also, and the people around there are so friendly. I would , and have , recommended this to my friends.

We really enjoyed our stay at Low Key Cottage! It was so convenient to be only a few minutes from Parris Island. The beds were perfect (important to me, as I have back problems),and the home was neatly furnished and tastefully decorated. It was a little haven in our busy schedule. The photos were accurate along with the description. The owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this home to friends. It beats a motel room any day! The location is also wonderfully close to Beaufort (with quaint shops, antebellum homes and a riverside walk complete with swinging benches) and Hunting Island (where we found sand dollars). We enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets with the shrimp boats in the background as we ate the best cornbread ever at Dockside restaurant.

Our stay at Low Key Cottage couldn't have been any better. This cottage is even better than the photos on VRBO. We loved the location, we came for our Marine's graduation and it was only a 5 minute easy drive to Paris Island, We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is coming down to Paris Island for a graduation or just to get away from it all. Quiet location, close to wonderful restaurants like Dockside, you can walk to this location. The owners were the best, called me right away when I e-mailed about the cottage and were so helpful with all my questions about the area. We can't wait to go back again for a vacation.

My husband and I rented this home for our honeymoon at the beginning of June 2010. The house was WONDERFUL! It was the perfect place for us to spend our honeymoon. The house was clean and charming. The owners also had bikes which we rode around town. It is close to Beaufort and Hunting Island State park. The owners were more than accommodating! We loved it!

I stayed at Low Key Cottage last summer and I can't wait to go back this fall. The cottage is so wonderfully decorated and comfortable. Its walking distance to some great local restaurants. Staying at Low Key is like staying at my own house. Its just that comfortable.

I just returned from a wonderful week at Low Key Cottage. The house is comfortable and the decor is lovely! All the comforts of home and then some! It was wonderful to return after a day of sight seeing and feel relaxed and at home. The beds are very comfortable and beautifully decorated bed and bath rooms. The home is absoutely spotless! Great kitchen and fully stocked with all dishes and cooking supplies. It was great to have wireless internet. The flat screen TV was very nice in the evenings. Two of the best area restaurants are within walking distance of the house. You need a little walk after eating at these restaurants. The quiet location is perfect for seeing Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head and of course Beaufort (my personal favorite). I was so sad to leave the area. I will be planning a return visit.
