Our group of 6 had an amazing time at this ski chalet. The accomadation was fantastic, clean spacious, comfortable and well maintained. The spa was hugh hit as well, after a big day on the slopes. The extra little touches like well stocked kitchen cupboards with a multitude of hot and cold breakfast choices, amazing bread and a great range of general cooking extras (oil, spices, salt and pepper etc.) helped make the stay one that we will talk about for a long time to come. There was nothing to want in regards to towels, blankets or anything of the likes. Local area travel books, DVDs were all available. I would recommend this house to anyone as a great place to stay. The owners live next door and their knowledge of the area is second to none. They are lovely people and they left us to our own devices unless called apon. Once called apon they were extremely helpful and generous with there time. All round top people, with a great place to stay, in an beautiful part of the world. Loved it !!!

My experience with Timberline drive vacation rentals was great right from the beginning. Their website was informative and had excellent pictures of the chalet. When my two children and I arrived at the chalet it was even better than we expected. The place was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very friendly and helpful while at the same time not making us feel "watched over". We enjoyed a great day of skiing then afterwards relaxed in the hot tub at the chalet. It was an amazing weekend, but even more than that it's a memory that my kids and I will share forever. I can't say enough good things about our stay there and highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Girdwood. We are already talking about doing it again sometime.

Our stay at Timberline Drive was great! Very clean, private, and quiet. We enjoyed our stay there 100%, loved that it included all the little things we needed (stocked kitchen). I reccommend anyone looking for a nice little getaway home, this is it!

We stayed at the Chalet portion (2 bedroom, 1 bath) on 8/15/11. It was the best lodging of the trip. The place was very clean. Lots of towels and washcloths. There was a washer and dryer that were useful. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We were disappointed that we were only staying one night. Would gladly stay there again.

My family had an excellent stay in Girdwood at this property. The hostess was fantastic and the property was just as nice. Wifi, bedding, stocked fridge for breakfast and a tranquil yet inviting setting. We would happily return. Wedding was great too.

Listing description was accurate, so were the photos - but they can't quite give you the complete wonderful feeling that the actual site has. The property was spotless and well maintained. We always ask our hosts to fill us in on where to eat and we've never been disappointed. This was our third visit, and it won't be our last. This is the real Alaska at it's best. We even saw 5 moose this trip, and just missed the bear.

The four of us traveling together stayed at Timberline BB in July 2011 on our way to Seward. The place is great and spotless. Gail has thought of everything you need and put it in the chalet for you to use. We were on a time schedule otherwise we would have liked to stay longer. There is a lot of stuff to do and see within driving distance and Timberline drive is a great place to stay and cost effective for 4+ people. We are all over 50 and had not problems, but there are steps to get into the chalet and the bedrooms are upstairs.

We stayed @ Timberline at the beginning of our Alaskan vacation & it exceeded our expectations. House situated in a nice quiet location, comfortable bed, and great food left for breakfast. We even got to meet Koda (their dog) who looks like a cuddly bear. Would definately recommend & hope to visit again.

Gail is a wonderful hostess and her properties are exceptional. The location is perfect, just a short walk from "downtown" Girdwood. We liked it so much, we changed our plans and came back the next week to stay at another one of Gail's properties.

Another couple and us rented the entire house (chalet & suite) for three days. It was a great experience. We love having full kitchens to cook our own meals and this was a completely stocked and outfitted kitchen. There are two great decks to watch the world go by and it is in a very quiet area so traffic is almost non-existent, except for the bear at midnight! Gail is a wonderful host, very attentive, but also not smothering. She offered many options for activities and dining but was also completely respectful of our privacy during the length of our stay. Highly recommend this for folks who are looking for a non-hotel stay in Alaska. FYI, the website doesn't mention that you have access to a full laundry which is quite handy for packing less clothes for a longer stay.

This place is great! Property is well maintained and appointed. No need to think about where to go for breakfast; they have supplied the kitchen with most anything you might need. Convenient to everything in the area: ski facilities, hiking trails, restaurants (which were better than we expected), and tourist attractions. The hosts live near by and were very sociable and accommodating. We plan to return in the fall of next year, and will schedule that vacation around the availability of this property.
Owner response:One of the tourist attractions nearby is Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center which rehabilitates orphan animals that have been found in the wild. Another option (which I highly recommend) is glacier flight seeing with Alpine Air. The glacier landing and tour of Prince William Sound will be a trip of a lifetime. They also have a glacier dog sledding trip which is an amazing experience for all ages.

Four of us stayed in the beautiful chalet in mid-June -- two adults and two kids. The chalet was incredibly comfortable, clean, well-stocked and in a great location! Gail supplied plenty of breakfast items and even accommodated our request for low-fat milk and nut-free products ;-) A nice surprise was having a washer and dryer, which we were happy to have our last night there. Beds were comfy; the shower had plenty of hot water; the towels were soft and luxurious (thank you, Gail!); the hot tub was a hit; and the location was perfect for the activities we wanted to do in the Girdwood area. Gail was the perfect host -- helpful and informative, but never intrusive. I would highly recommend a stay here; we hope to be back!

We stayed in the one bedroom suite at Timberline B&B for three nights in early June. The suite is luxuriously rustic with amazing gourmet breakfast inclusions. Evenings in the spa, just outside our door, surrounded by the darkening forest were magic. Highly recommend the bakery for a light and delicious lunch, the trip to the top of the mountain on the gondola in summer, both a good 5 minute drive away, and hiking in the area. You would need a car for transport.
Owner response:There is plenty of hiking in the area as our guests mentioned. One of the favorites is the Winner Creek Trail which connects the Alyeska Hotel to Crow Creek Road via the hand tram. The hand tram is 2.5 miles, and Crow Creek Mine is 3.5 miles from the trail head of the hotel. For the intermediate to advanced hiker, the North Face Trail follows the tram up Alyeska mountain to the top for some incredible views and a leisurely hike down.

This is a delightful chalet on the side of a mountain deep in the woods. It is pristine clean and lovingly maintained by Gail who lives just next door. We did not lack for anything, the breakfast was well supplied and muffins and cookies were delicious. The property is well located in Girdwood which is a fun town with restaurants, activiites and sights. I highly recommend the Timberline B and B! But, the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs....
Owner response:All bedrooms are located upstairs and all bathrooms are downstairs. We do have one sofa bed in a living room downstairs. This is helpful for anyone needing the bathroom & sleeping area on the same level.

We stayed at this property for 6 nights in June, 2010, and it was a wonderful experience. There were no unpleasant surprises - what you see in the listing is what you get. The property was clean and well-maintained. The host/hostess live next door, and are a wealth of information for area activities, day trips, restaurants, etc. I would highly recommend the property to a friend and this would be my first choice for lodging if I return to that part of Alaska. It is a short drive from Anchorage and easy to get to with late flight arrivals. Whitter, Seward, Soldotna, Cooper Landing, and Portage Glacier are easy day trips. Rafting, fishing, glacier cruises, wildlife cruises all within easy reach. Great hiking choices abound. Several good restaurants are nearby. The Alyska Resort is minutes away with full spa services. Gail, one of the owners, is available without being intrusive. We felt like guests instead of tenants. The property was furnished with everything we needed and a great selection of choices for breakfast. A great experience!

We fell into this lovely B&B when planning our impromptu wedding at Spencer Glacier 3/30/2010. The B&B owners are as wonderful as the place is fabulous. Nothing like hot tubbing in the snow, or curling up in front of the floor to ceiling copper-faced fireplace. It is so comfortable and quiet we could have stayed forever. The amenities were perfect; down to the fresh baked bread and homemade jam in the fridge! It's close to everything but far enough and private enough you feel you are really away. You can relax here. We liked it so much we will be back. You're going to love it too! Don't wait though; I'm sure this dreamy B&B will be booked from now to New Years...

Timberline Drive B&B is a great place for our annual getaway weekend with friends. our group grows every year and this house offers everything we need and has room for our group to expand. Gail & John are very flexible and accommodate us every year. I highly recommend this B&B for a couple getaway or family outing.
