Situated in one of Coronado's coveted locations, on a quiet street, occupying an 8,000 square foot lot, this home is only two blocks from Central Beach and two blocks from the center of the village. You can put the car in the garage and walk to everything: dining, Hotel Del Coronado, tennis courts, library, museum, coffee shops, and much more.
The charm and style of a past era have been lovingly enhanced by modern updates and period antique decor. The golden oak hardwood floors, stained glass, twelve foot ceilings, and built-ins are a few of the classics that combine with comfort, wonderful light and ocean breezes. Some nights you can hear the seals barking near the beach.
The new eat-in kitchen has granite counter tops, a walk-in pantry and a great Wedgewood stove. The kitchen has an eat-in table that is amply supplied with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, linens, etc. From the kitchen you can walk outside to the spacious, unique, and furnished porch. You can sip your morning coffee, and read the paper listening to the fountain and watching the hummingbirds fly around.
From the porch you can walk into a wonderful side yard where you can barbecue and entertain in style. There is an adorable guest bedroom that can be entered from an entrance off of the porch.
Upstairs you enter the magnificent loft style family room that reflects the owner's love of travel and reading with treasures from all over the world. It offers many entertainment choices: HDTV, stereo, and more. Adjoining the family room is the office that has high speed Internet and other enhancements if needed.
The wonderful master bedroom, entered from the family room, is flooded with light and has a wonderful 200 square foot balcony accessed from the master bedroom. Let the sound of the ocean put you to sleep at night.
A guest bedroom is also upstairs and has great built-in cabinets. Both bathrooms in the house have original claw foot tubs/showers and original pedestal sinks.
Oops! Almost forgot the beautiful English gardens, so you can stop and smell the flowers and pick the roses. The large property is completely surrounded by a white picket fence.
