Wonderful Time Over Christmas Break

Our family of four (2 adults + 2 children) had a wonderful time here over the the Christmas holiday. The cozy apartment was exceptionally clean, in a beautiful neighborhood and had all the amenities of home. The decor of the apartment was exceptional - nice linens, blankets, etc. It felt warm and inviting while also feeling upscale at the same time. Lastly, the owners were kind and wonderful to work with. We hope to visit again!

Thanksgiving Trip to Wolf Creek - 2011

My family had a wonderful time staying here. Size was a bit small for family of 4, but bigger than a hotel room. However, we had a fully equiped kitchen and the feel of the apt. was much more like a home. My wife commented about the many extras that were included in this kitchen. Towels and linens smelled nice. Owners were there while we were there...wonderful couple. Our dog had a great time. We were able to let her out and play in the fenced yard. I don't know how else you get that w/out renting a house. Will try and go back next summer!

A wonderful property with amazing owners. Very comfortable stay in this lovely private apartment with every amenity attended to. Karla and Mark were so welcoming to us and our pup, Chatsworth. They are so knowledgable about this entire area and events that we were able to plug in and enjoy the local color on a short visit. We fell in love with the area and will most definitely return to Southfork and stay here again. Do yourself a favor, come stay at this property and see for yourselves.

Charming and Comfortable Getaway!

This beatifully decorated caretaker suite provided perfect accommodations for our weekend away. The apartment is clean, comfortable and contains all that's needed for an enjoyable stay. We particularly enjoyed the view from the living area and the walking trail along the creek. The owner was very helpful - providing tips on restaurants and nearby activities. South Fork is well located - providing many options for interesting side trips. We'd love to visit in another season and perhaps take the golf clubs along! Thanks for a great stay!

The apartment is beautifully appointed and decorated. Everything is close by and our stay was great for the Colorado fall colors. Property is on the golf course and next to the BLM land, memorable evening was seeing the large buck that came walking across the golf course next to the property. Quiet area within walking distance to the Rio Grande River. The owners are great to work with and they have a top notch rental, we plan to be back. Recommend, great getaway!

A wonderful 4th of July

My husband and I had a wonderful time in South Fork and having this apartment to return to made it that much better. The pictures don't do it justice. The apartment is the perfect couples getaway. The location was close to everything we wanted to do, and the fireworks in the Mountains breathtaking. We can't wait to return. Thanks for making the stay as relaxing and enjoyable as we were hoping for.

What a beautiful place and the view, breathtaking! You sure thought of everything! After we have spend a long day in the mountains, it was a great place to relax, I wish I could call this place home! Thank you for making us (and our puppy Cody) feel so comfortable! No need to look anywhere else, it has everything you need: clean, great price and perfect location! Minutes away from Wolf Creek, can't beat that! Thanks again and look forward to the next trip!

South Fork Splendor

Stayed here a couple of times (winter and summer). Owners are very friendly and easy to work with. The apartment is clean and nicely appointed - mountain perfect! Easy distance to Wolf Creek for skiing in the winter and close to EVERYTHING we like to do in the summer. I highly recommend this. If you like to dine out...a must eat at is Chalet Swiss! Enjoy!!!!

Conveniently tucked into a country club location, this place met and exceeded all expectations. I am big on VALUE, not just cost...and this is great on both. It is in a very upscale neighborhood, but located right next to the wildlife management unit. We watched the elk and mulies coming and going in the afternoon. It is a clean, quiet, comfortable, and well appointed apartment. The owners (M.R. and K.R.) have taken serious thought and time to the decor...appropriately cabin-motif, but not kitchy or garage-sale...kind of 'Ralph Lauren Cabin-style', if there is such a thing. While it would be adequate for a couple with small kids, it was perfect for my wife and I. We relaxed in the sitting room, sipped coffee and enjoyed the view up the valley. All stainless appliances and granite countertops made us feel like we were in our own scaled-down version of the executive home it is attached to. Having an oven, we made a fozen pizza, stayed in, and saved a few bucks one evening. We made a 1/2 day ski trip to Wolf Creek, about 20 min away with good roads. During our stay, a heavy snow fall closed the local pass one afternoon. No travel West. As we bar hopped that night, two local restaurants ran out of french fries! Thankfully, we were staying in South Fork, which sits on the Eastern (protected) side of the pass. We met skiers staying in Pagosa Springs (Western side of pass) that were crashing in the few motels in town. Apparently, this can happen a few times a year. South Fork has a few casual restaurants, they are what you would expect; one 'fancy' restaruant is a 4star... Chalet Swiss. Perfect for my wife's B-day...drinks, appetizer, meal, etc for a little over $100 total. Duck and Trout...perfectly presented, good service. Very recommended. The owners are pleasant, professional, and are easy to deal with. We loved the small town atmosphere, the location (lucky for us) East of the Pass, access to great skiing, lots of snow, and a terrific rental apartment. We will be coming back.
