Great Place to Stay in Park Slope
5/5

We're already planning our next visit!

Guest: Eric J. (Orange County, CA)
Date of Stay: 07/02/10 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

Where do I begin? I've travelled a lot in my life and never have I had the luxury to bring home with me on vacation. That's exactly what Marie-Line offers with this Park Slope gem. Each day, after a long day of sightseeing, you will return to every comfort of home that you thought you left behind. Based on the other favorable reviews I had rather high expectations, but I never thought that my expectations would be so drastically exceeded. We are a family with two young children (4 years and 6 months), so comfort and accommodation are our primary concerns. Marie-Line provides that in abundance. It is very clear that she has made a great effort to consider every need that a traveler may have. For example, we chose to travel with a double stroller (bad idea, parents! You'd be better off with two singles), but thankfully we didn't need to use it because a high-quality McLaren single stroller was waiting for us in the coat closet. During our stay (5 days), not once did we run into an issue where something was not provided, and if we had, we could have easily gotten a hold of Marie-Line, as she was just downstairs. This brings up another point worth mentioning: if the thought has crossed your mind that it might be problematic having the property owner so close, rest assured that it is no problem at all. During our 5 day stay, I only ran into her once briefly. In fact, I wouldn't have minded if this happened more frequently, as she's a very nice lady. Again, I can't compliment Marie-Line and her apartment enough. Thank you so much!

Hello Marie-line, A quick line to say we arrived home safe and without delay on Sunday morning after what was a very enjoyable (if exhausting) holiday. Can we thank you for the use of your lovely appartment - the level of confort and its location was ideal for our needs and I will certainly recommend you to friends and colleagues who plan to visit NY in the future.

Our favorite place to stay in Brooklyn

Guest: Mike (Ithaca, NY)
Date of Stay: 03/13/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We're former long-time residents of Brooklyn, who like to visit as often as possible to see friends and eat-eat-eat at the great restaurants there. No need to travel to Manhattan but if we do it's a 15-minute ride on the Q Train to Union Square and another 5 minutes to midtown. We're very familiar with the neighborhood and you really can't beat the location. Very safe and picturesque part of Brooklyn, with so much within walking distance (5th Ave, 7th Ave, Prospect Park, South Slope, Ft. Greene). If you need to take a cab ride to a somewhat inaccessible neighborhood like Carroll Gardens/Red Hook/Willamsburgh, the cost is pretty manageable. We stayed there with our 2-1/2 year old daughter and spent a good amount of time at the playground a block away or at the park. The bathroom only has a shower, so that could be a problem for some parents with toddlers but our little one was ok with that. The apartment itself is clean and very airy/sunny. Lots of room for inviting a few friends over for dinner/takeout. Living room and bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, so it's a nice buffer for sleeping children. The owner, Marieline, and her husband (?) were very friendly and not in our faces about anything. We are planning to stay there again in September. Very happy to write this review as we loved staying there. (Now if only we could find a way to sneak into the Co-op and shop, we'd be even more thrilled!)

FIRST CLASS RENTAL-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Guest: Paul (United Kingdom)
Date of Stay: 02/13/11 Review Submitted: 02/24/11

My brother and I stayed here and I cannot fault this rental in a first class area of Brooklyn. Good shops, restaurants and safe area near to a Subway {a short walk} to Manhattan. Marie-Line has provided everything that is required to make your stay comfortable and clean and well maintained. Excellent bathroom, comfortable beds and lounge seating, full size table and chairs and a full kitchen. The description of this appartment on VRBO is correct. All you have to do is buy your food everything else is provided for and the owner Marie-Line could not be more helpfull. An enjoyable stay and will certainly book again.

This apartment in Brooklyn has the perfect location for anyone who wants to be close to Manhatten but at the same time explore one of the nicest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Marieline was incredibly nice and supportive. The apartment itself is spacious and of high and modern standard and equipped with anything you will need for your stay and comfort. We would return to stay here any time and recommend it to anyone interested in having a not only pleasant but perfect stay in Brooklyn!

Beautiful apartment in Park Slope

Guest: Poptart63 (Toronto)
Date of Stay: 05/16/10 Review Submitted: 05/27/10

My husband, my six year son and I had a fabulous stay in Marie-Line's lovely apartment. This spacious light filled space had everything we needed. It is very clean and tastefully furnished. The neigbhourhood is also terrific with lots of restaurants, shops and grocery stores near by. The proximity to Prospect Park is a real bonus for families travelling with small children - don't pass up a stroll through this wonderful park! Travel into Manhattan was quick & easy as there are two subway stations only a few blocks away. It was quite a relief to return to the relative tranquility of Park Slope at the end of the day after the hustle and bustle of Manhattan's museums and shopping districts. We have visited NYC many times and this was by far the best experience in terms of accomodations. It is so nice to have kitchen and laundry facilities on site should you need them. Marie-Line, the property owner, is both proactive and responsive to her guests' needs. In short: highly recommended.

Couldn't have been better

Guest: Glass Artist (Culver City, CA)
Date of Stay: 03/08/10 Review Submitted: 03/25/10

My friend (from Rhode Island) and I (from California) wanted to stay in an apartment -- rather than a hotel room -- when taking a 5-day glass class at Brooklyn's Urban Glass. We wanted a safe, warm and inviting place in a good neighborhood, close to subways or even within walking distance. This was the perfect place for us. The apartment is extremely well furnished; every detail (particularly in the kitchen) has been seen too. It's clean, modern, warm and full of amenities. The owners live downstairs and were totally unobtrusive. There are lots of restaurants, supermarkets, and other convenience stores nearby. We heartily recommend it.
