The Sandtrap is a one story three bedroom home located directly on Lake Huron. It has a sugar sand beach, fire pit, and large yard.
There is a game room in the unattached garage with a pool table, foosball table, and air hockey table for guests to use. The Sandtrap is not a cabin on a lake; it is a beautiful home that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
The sound of the crashing waves through the open windows in warm weather is pure joy.
There are many activities in the surrounding areas to keep you busy or you may just decide to spend your whole vacation lounging on the beautiful beach and swimming in the lake.
Either way you are sure to have a wonderful time.
There are some games, movies, and books available for your use. Kids will enjoy sleeping in the bedroom painted with characters from Disney's "A Bug's Life". All bedrooms have quiet ceiling fans. There are also ceiling fans in the living room and dining room.
The kitchen/dining room features a beautiful island with sink, dishwasher and three comfortable bar stools. All appliances are stainless steel.

$280/night May 1 thru Sept 30, $180/night Oct 1 thru April 30
Bookings of at least 7 nights receive 10% off.
$75 cleaning fee for all bookings.
Bookings under 3 nights are considered,
however the cleaning fee will be raised.
6% Michigan tax applies.
Damage deposit returned not sooner than 30 days after
departure if contract guidelines are met.

Why the Owner Chose Tawas City
The Tawas area is beautiful and the beach at the house is sandy. That can't be found everywhere on Lake Huron. We also have family that live in the area.

A Great Vacation Rental

This home was perfect for our family vacation. Plenty of room and a great kitchen for cooking, which we love to do. The beach was amazing and provided great swimming and floating opportunities. All the toys were a great addition. My one grandson spent a great deal of time playing with the little kitchen set. We all got to share in his wonderous treats. We think he might make a great chef one day. We highly recommend this home rental. Thanks for everything.

While our stay was good (excluding the fire alarm going off one night and waking everyone up) Stacy hasnt returned our deposit in 3 weeks now. We have constantly been calling and requesting her to return our deposit she hasnt done that. So think twice before renting this place or there is a possibility you will end up having to spend more than what you anticipated. For the price they charged there was no dishwashing liq, no laundry detergent (yet the expected you to start a load of laundry). The sheets and towels from the previous guests were still in the dryer.
Owner response:As the first guests of the season, they had the unfortunate experience of having the smoke detectors go off due to a battery needing changed. All batteries have since been changed and will be regularly to avoid that unwelcome night awakening! At least we know they work! These renters had their deposit refunded two days late, which I am sorry about, not three weeks as stated in the review. In the future we will be utilizing the CSA Property Damage Protection that VRBO offers for a small fee to avoid having to collect and return security deposits. As for no dishwashing or laundry detergent, our cleaner always leaves enough of each for one load, which was not used by these guests. Having myself stayed in many VRBO homes in Florida, it is very much the norm to bring your own detergent, trash bags, toilet paper, etc. It is quite clearly explained what is included at the house for the stay. Also when our cleaner went to change the batteries for the smoke detector, the guests stated what a wonderful time they were having and how happy they were with the house. As the first guests of the season, the cleaner also told them that the sheets and towels left in the dryer were from her getting the house ready and that they were not expected to do anything with them. We hope this resolves any concerns you may have after reading their review.

This is the first time we have vacationed with our adult kids and their 3 toddlers. We had a great time. The house is set up perfect for kids. There were lots of toys in the play room, the beach was perfect for making sand castles. The clean, spacious home is well equipped with everything you need. It is close to town for shopping. I would highly recommend the Sand Trap!
