3,000 plus heated and cooled sq feet, 1,100 decks and porches, 900 heated and cooled garage.
The house was built from the trees that were cleared to make room for it. Solid. Simple, but solid.
It is surrounded by 160 acres of manicured hills and pastures. The elevation starts around the farmhouse at 3,600 feet, and rises to 4.600 feet with extreme long range views. There are no houses on any part of the property except the farmhouse. With over 3 miles of canopy roads and more “skidder or old log trails”, you could walk or ride in the solitude this property offers for hours or days.
The property is one mile from the Wolf Ridge Ski Resort and two miles from the Wolf Laurel Country Club. Rental of the Carswell Farmhouse allows access by private roads to both resorts, discounted ski lift tickets, use of the private indoor pool, and use of the private Country Club and Golf Course.
From Watershed Rd. it is a 10 minute ride to Burnsville, NC for shopping; 5 minutes to I 26 exit 3; from there 25 minutes to Asheville, NC or 30 minutes to Johnson City, Tn.
The house is relatively new, 6 years old. Two (2) bedrooms and two (2) baths downstairs, and the master bedroom and bath upstairs. Two (2) living rooms, down stairs and up. The main kitchen is on the upper floor, with a ½ kitchen on the ground floor. The ground floor is accessible from the front porch. An inside staircase goes from the ground floor to the upper. The top floor is also accessible from the main out door deck. Both floors are handicap accessible.
We do not hunt the property, and because of that the deer and turkey are everywhere. We have a deer feeder right out from the upper porch by the big rock. This feeder is frequented by up to a dozen deer most days.
If you are a walker or a biker, you will find the gentle roads easy to use.
We have four wheelers, dirt bikes, go-karts and mules. We have a shooting range for pistols and rifles. These are accessible after individual review.
