Quite modern two floor three bedroom two bath Cape Cod Style house with front porch and garden. Located within a five minute walk to the beach, ferry, stores, restaurants, famous merry-go-round and arcade as well as a state of the art library. 15 minutes from a protected 8 mile walking and bike path.
It is tucked away on a dirt road so has very little traffic or noise but is very close to the wonderful Victorian campgrounds and bustling main street of Oak Bluffs. House has all amenities, washer, dryer, full kitchen equipment..front porch and garden. The island of Martha's Vineyard offers endless opportunities for families with many art galleries, horse back riding, a working model farm, fishing village, boats and bikes for hire, There is an excellent live theater, movie theaters and many venues for concerts.
House comes equipped with sand chairs, umbrellas and games for children and adults. The finished basement is great for rainy days or for privacy for younger folks. In the back there is a barbecue grill, outdoor shower. While linens are not routinely provided arrangements can be made if requested.

Year Purchased: 1990
I am a retired college professor who has vacationed on the Vineyard for over 30 years, renting, until I finally bought my own house. My two sons grew up with wonderful summers on the island, learning to horseback ride, sail, swim and fall in love with nature. My grandchild now attends the Farm Institute day camp when she spends a week me. This is a very special area, one of the first integrated summer resorts in the country. One of the best parts of the house is its location, close to everything but hidden away so one looks out on a patch of woods.
Why the Owner Chose Oak Bluffs
I bought this house because one summer the house we were renting was not available and I could not face not spending wonderful spring, summer and fall weeks in my paradise with my growing family. I looked for a place where my teenage sons could navigate without me driving them and where I could come without my car from time to time and still be able to shop and use the beach.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I especially like the bike path which goes from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown and provides a safe way to bike ride without worrying about cars and motor cycles. I also love the art galleries and I have filled my walls with local posters and photographs.
