We stayed at the Palm Bungalow for two wonderful weeks. Lauralynn and Steve are consummate hosts and Evan along with bamboo (the dog) completed the picture. On arrival we were surprised to find the bungalow and the property even better than on the webste. Lauralynn had thoughfully stocked a basket with fruit and other delicacies and the fridge had a variey of cold drinks that were much appreciated. As we arrived late in the afternoon we were invited to share our first Kona meal with them. The location of the property is convenient to the town and beaches and is secluded and quiet in an area of beautiful homes. We really enjoyed the pool after a hard couple of hours reading and relaxing or after a day sightseeing. We hope to visit again and would not hesitate recommending the Palm Bungalow as a 5 star place to stay. Take care - Mahalo Lauralynn, Steve, Evan and Bamboo

There is a reason for all the other rave reveiws on the Palm Bungalow. It's all true. If your goal is a restful vacation, yet want to be close to the town of Kailua, but off the tourist beaten path, then look no further. The wonderful and thoughtful hosts have provided everything. No need to bring anything with you, other than a few clothes, personal items, and perhaps a Wi-Fi enabled device - if you can't totally disconnect. You will arrive to a "starter" assortment of fresh fruit, juice, water and snacks - this will get you through the first night. The property is in a gated community of high-end homes, but only a 10 minute walk down to Alii Drive along the shore. Otherwise, you are in a perfect launching spot for drives to dozens of close-by destinations. If you need help with itinerary, then the hosts are eager to offer local tips. If you want privacy, then you will feel like you are all alone in a manicured private tropical setting. We can't imagine returning to a more perfect vacation spot - and we will.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Palm Bungalow. The final stretch of our three week honeymoon adventure in Hawaii, staying in various vacation rentals, the Palm Bungalow was by far the most elegant and comfortable of the places we stayed. The hosts are extraordinarily gracious, interested in their guests adventures, but also respectful of guest privacy. They have appointed the studio beautifully, and the fresh fruit and wine included made us feel wrapped comfortably in Hawaiian hospitality. The bathroom is very nice, but overshadowed by the outside shower which is heavenly. The kitchenette is not much, but they have a nice grill and when you're in Hawaii who wants to cook much beyond grilling up some fish and mixing up a fruit salsa to accompany, also there is all of Kona restaurants within easy distance. We were happy to have beach towels and snorkel gear at our disposal. We truly enjoyed the comfortable relaxation we found during our time at the Palm Bungalow, and look forward to an opportunity to return.

This bungalow was exactly what was needed for a great time on the Big Island.1st time staying in a place in Hawaii that wasn't a Resort but well worth decision, nice spacious bungalow, very clean, very quiet, inviting, great pool, great host and just all around well worth our decision.Short walks down to the beaches and nice to walk along Alii drive and look at ocean while walking.Close driving distance to a lot of restaurant's and shopping.Would highly recomend The Palm Bungalow for anyone on their 1st visit or return visit to The Big Island for a nice relaxing Hawaiian experience.

Staying at the Bungalow made for a very different and refreshing experience than the usual condo vacation. We enjoyed staying in a real neighborhood and interacting with our welcoming hosts who had great tips on unusual day trips. It was also wonderful having thoughtful amenities like beach chairs, a backpack, a soft sided cooler and all the food and appliance basics supplied in the kitchenette. We had full access to the yard, hammock and beautiful salt water pool and it was so lovely to relax poolside without feeling crowded by other tourists. Talk about privacy! The Bungalow itself is like a studio apartment and there is no tv or phone. You will find yourself enjoying being unplugged and forced to read, nap, take an outdoor shower or walk around the yard or neighborhood when you're resting between adventures. Very convenient location only a couple miles from downtown Kona. We would definitely stay here again, but would probably bring less "stuff" next time since there is not a lot of room for storage.

If you are looking for a slice of heaven on earth, this is the closest we have found!!! The accommodations and amenities were way beyond anything we could have imagined. Fresh fruit, a bottle of wine, loads of booklets and pamphlets with things to do and the best host/hostess you will find anywhere. The bungalow is breath-takingly beautiful and the grounds are well manicured and quiet!!! You wouldn't believe that you are less than a miles walk from downtown Kona and all the sights to see. Beaches are close by and the "Honu" (Hawaiian green sea turtles) were in great abundance. Couple all of this with the hospitality of the owners and you will be blown away with your stay here!!! The feeling of "aloha" was evident in every way imaginable!!! Thanks for making our vacation so WONDERFUL!!!!! Greg and Judy
