We stayed at the Owl's Nest to take advantage of Pittsburg's great snowmobile trails. Access to the trail system is easy. The cabin is perfect, with everything you need included in your rent, including a nice garage for snowmobile storage. There is more than enough space for a family or large group. Ken was friendly and helpful with ideas for viewing the beautiful vistas.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Absolutely perfect place. Ken was very helpful, but not overbearing. The location was perfect...secluded. The cabin felt just like home. Something in the air made the kids and dogs well behaved the entire week. The general store is one mile from the end of the road...convenient. Snowmobile trails close by. You cannot see another house or cabin from owl's nest. If you stay here it won't be your only trip...you'll want to return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

If I were to design a log home, this would be it! Owl's Nest was just perfect. Great location, close to Young's store with direct access to snowmobile trails. The owner was so great to work with and the cabin was well equiped with everything you need. Very spacious open design with nice wood floors, comfortable furniture and a flat screen tv! What an incredible view from the end of the road, it feels like you are on top of the world. We've been coming to Pittsburg to snowmobile for 10+ years and this is by far our favorite. Such an affordable price for a fantastic cabin. We can't wait to go back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owl's Nest is a beautiful, spacious, modern log cabin which is well-equipped to meet the needs of any family. Our daughter loved the catwalk and the yard with firepit. It is so close to the spectacular First Connecticut Lake, which we immensely enjoyed. We also enjoyed the hiking and sightseeing. The waterfalls and mountain views were beautiful and we saw numerous moose, deer, osprey, etc. during our visit. The people in the area were very friendly. The local restaurants offerred outstanding food. When our daughter is a little bit older, we look forward to trying to ATV in the area since the cabin is so close to the numerous local trails. We are looking forward to staying at Owl's Nest again next summer!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

The reviews have said it all. What a great place. The log home in itself is beautiful, and the surrounding woods are quiet and peaceful. In the past, we have rented homes in the White Mountains, and other parts of the great state of New Hampshire, but never in the Great North Woods, and we were not disappointed. We do not fish, snowmobile, ride atv's or hunt. Our thing is hiking, and the North Woods had so much to offer. The use of the logging roads took us to trails and waterfalls that were fantastic, without encountering the crowds that you can find in the White Mountains. We wanted wilderness, and we found it! I can write a full chapter on how much we did, and how much we enjoyed the entire experience, but one has to stay HERE at the Owl's Nest to know what I am trying to express. It could very well have been the most relaxing vacation that we ever had. You can do nothing here but sit on the huge screen porch for hours,(which I did after long hikes) and relax like never before. We would like to sincerely thank Ken for his hospitality, and providing a place that was sparkling clean and fully equipped. He could not have been easier to work with. This place has all the comforts of home without neighbors. You will also find the folks in Pittsburg to be very gracious and friendly. It was a great stay indeed......we will return!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

The Owl's nest is a wonderful, quiet, peaceful place to stay. Ken (the owner) exceptionally accomodating and helpful. This place is everything and more, from sitting in the screened in porch and enjoying the sunset to seeing the stars at night. My parents and my wife had a wonderful time. They all keep telling me what a great vacation they had and how wonderful area is. My wife and I hiked to the top of the hill using the road in front of the cabin and were greeted with an awesome view that Ken suggested we see. Ken also gave us great information on how and where to see the moose. The Owl's Nest has everything you need to generate long lasting memories of a great vacation. Thank you Ken! We had a wonderful time at the Owl’s Nest. A group of us went up for a weekend golf get away. We played at the Balsam’s, about a 40 minute ride from the cabin but well worth the trip. The course was in excellent condition, the greens fees very reasonable and the vistas breath taking. The Owl’s Nest was stunning! The accommodations were super clean and comfortable. There were seven of us and we never felt crowded. Plenty of comfortable beds, large dining room table, two bathrooms, big kitchen with everything required to cook, awesome screen porch that spanned the entire length of the front of the cabin, and a spacious layout with beautiful cathedral ceilings and a lovely catwalk. We made good use of the wireless internet and the free long distance phone service. The best part was the affordability of the cabin, the $160 flat rate is very, very reasonable. We are already planning a return trip next summer. The entire experience exceeded my expectations; I highly recommend a visit to the Owl’s Nest.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our four day stay at Owl's Nest in the Great North Woods of NH was incredible. The cabin is brand new, spacious, beautifully laid out and with every amenity. The owner provided outstanding customer service, including excellent suggestions for activities and phoning to check if all was OK. The scenery was simply amazing. There were so many beautiful vistas, verdant mountains, crystal clear lakes and streams! We brought our kayaks and enjoyed paddling around the lakes. We enjoyed Magalloway Mountain, Garfield Falls, Beaver Brook Falls, and the many hiking trails. We enjoyed the Connecticut Lakes, the East Inset, Scott's Bog and the view at the border from the 4th Connecticut Lake. The wildlife viewing was incredible! We saw moose every day as well as deer, fox, grouse, otters, and hawks. I loved the wildlife viewing and opportunities for photography. I loved our daily hikes and/or paddling and trips along Moose Alley each evening. We ate at Happy Corner Cafe several times and enjoyed the good comfort food and abundant portions. There were a number of restaurants in the area that looked good as well (but we were more focused on the evening Moose Alley visit). I would absolutely recommend this property to a family member or friend. I have already told our friends and family about the trip and hope to be able to bring family members to Owl's Nest in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+.

My Army friends and I just spent a week at the Owl's Nest and fished the Connecticut River area. The Owl's Nest is a gorgeous, beautifully furnished, perfectly sized, and wonderfully priced cabin for the Pittsburg NH area. The TV came in handy when the NBA finals started; the porch was a wonderful place to enjoy the mild weather; and the fire pit was a great spot to hangout at night. The fishing in the area was great too! If you are headed to the Pittsburg NH area and need a place to accomodate a group, look no further than the Owl's NestRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

We honestly couldn't have asked for anything more from our long weekend at the Owl's Nest. Seven of us arrived on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday. Took some long walks and did some hiking that Ken had suggested. Saw a moose, took a trip to Canada and had an overall amazing time. The cabin itself is gorgeous. Very well maintained and everything you needed was right at your fingertips! Ken is incredibly helpful and always available when you need him - he even called over the weekend to check on us. One of the best weekends ever - no question. We're hoping to make this an annual event! Can't wait to come back next year!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+.
