Charlestown is a beautiful seaside community that offers more than seven miles of beaches including the Ninigret Conservation Area. This remote, unspoiled barrier beach has sugar-white sand, gentle surf and clear, turquoise waters, all adjacent to Ninigret Pond. There are over 4000 acres of wildlife sanctuaries (for bird watchers or hikers). Ninigret Park is one and a half miles away and offers a new playground, fishing access, Nature trails, swimming lagoon, tennis courts, bike path, soccer fields, frisbee golf and more. Camping, Hiking and lake swimming are minutes away at Burlingame State Park.
Other area attractions include Newport, Mystic, CT., Watch Hill, Block Island Ferry, and CT. casinos all within 30 minutes.
