Our family has enjoyed traveling to various destinations to try different ski areas for years. We had heard nothing but positive comments about Wolf Creek Ski Area, and we were definitely not disappointed. It's a fantastic mountain for all ski abilities--the snow was powdery, and the liftlines were short. This house was also perfect for us--large bedrooms, comfortable beds, and a lovely setting for enjoying the hot tub on the river. Besides relaxing in the hot tub, evenings were spent playing pool and enjoying the gas fire in the cozy living room. The essentials were all provided, and we found the house to be a wonderful value for the money. Plus, it's just a short drive to the hot springs--a must visit. We will definitely be back!

This vacation home, located right along the San Juan River, provided the perfect family destination. Having traveled to Colorado for vacation many times, Pagosa Springs was a great destination...and this home made it even better. The house was well appointed, spacious, and located in a great riverside community. The river was low in July, offering an opportunity to float by raft right into downtown Pagosa! With a pool table and family room upstairs, and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the river, what more could one ask for when taking a family vacation in great town? Highly recommended.

River Retreat Review

This property needs some attention. I spent the first hour cleaning. I don't mind "rustic," but I do expect it to be clean. It was not. The vent hood over the stove was covered with grease and nats. The blinds are so old and dusty you don't even want to pull on them. We would have enjoyed the view outside, but the windows are so dirty and full of cob webs you can't see out them. Nor can you open them for fresh air cause the screens are barely hanging on, which lets in the nats. The carpet is very old, dirty and soiled, especially around the toilet in the master. We had limited linens, of which we had only three wash clothes and they were so soiled I wouldn't use them on my dog. Those are just a few items we observed. We made the best of our stay, but we were very anxious to get home. This house has great potential because of the location, but needs a deep cleaning. I would not recommend this property in its current condition.

To address the issues: Our carpet is professionally cleaned every spring by a company that does an excellent job. Our windows are also professionally cleaned every spring as well. We did a thorough checking of linens and towels and made adjustments. Each bed in the house now has 3 changes of linens and we added more than would be needed, to all of the bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes. We have an excellent cleaning crew, but met with them to go over issues to ensure the best service possible. We love our home in Pagosa and love sharing it with other families. It is an older cabin with a lot of character and many great amenities. It's located on the river in a beautiful neighborhood, close to town and the ski basin. It has a hot tub on the deck, facing the river and a pool table in family room. It offers a fully furnished kitchen and enough beds to fit most peoples needs. And that is just to name a few of the great amenities at our home, and this all comes at a great price. It is our "happy place" and we hope it will be yours too. So, if your looking for the amazing outdoor beauty that Colorado offers and the soothing sound of a river and place to make memories with your family, your kids, and your grandkids, then I hope you will consider our home.
