Excellent place to stay for any occasion - the pictures you see are very accurate although they can't portray the true beauty of the house and the surroundings - we had a great time on the slopes and it was great to come home to a warm peaceful environment - everyone played pool why we prepared meals and those waiting there turn watched the great flat screen or all the wildlife - we started and ended every day with deer and horses coming to the river to drink along with the ducks and geese flying over and then swimming in the river - we even had a bald eagle perch in the trees out back on two occasions - the house was very clean and had everything we needed for a great trip - the owner is very helpful in getting you situated and answering any questions about the surrounding areas - I would recommend this to anyone I know, as long as they didn't rent it before us - thanks again for a great visit and look forward to more in the years to come!

From New Orleans to the Lazy Su-Z Ranch

This was my 5th trip to South Fork and I can say that The Lazy Su-Z is hands down the nicest place we’ve stayed yet. I give the ranch a 5 star rating. Being on the river is a difference maker. Wonderful place!

Great Week July 4

We had an incredible week at the Lazy Susan. The house was roomy and outstanding! The view and seclusion was really nice. Being on the bank of the Rio Grande was awesome. Caught (and Released) a couple of the biggest brownies I have ever caught within 50 yards of the back door! Rick was completely accommodating with the house and even gave my girls their first fly fishing casting lesson! I highly recommend staying here!

Our stay in South Fork was just wonderful. The house was everything we had hoped for. We arrived late in the evening and Rick was waiting on us. He had a fire burning and the house was absolutely beautiful. The Christmas decorations and lights were so pretty and the little children were so excited. The house was immaculate and we wanted for nothing. There was pamphlets on the counter with all the information you could ever need while you were there. Rick told us where to stop for groceries on the way in and that was very helpful. He let the kids play in the snow all around the property and was so good to make sure all was fine. We spent 5 wonderful days and will do it again. I have recommended this property to many friends and I would recommend it to anyone that wanted a beautiful quiet vacation. The kids went skiing and everything was very close to the house. Don and I stayed with the little ones and just took in the beautiful view. We are planning to make it an annual trip if time allows. It was our first family vacation to the mountains and we could not have chosen a better place to start. A huge thank you to Rick for making this a most memorable vacation for all of us.

This property far surpasses all our vacation requirements for each member of our family. The photos do not do the property justice. My biggest vacation fear is to rent a place that is cramped and uncomfortable. But the height and depth of this three-story living room was breath-taking. You have to be there to appreciate the golden wood trim, western stairway design and artistic use of stone, tile and mortar. My ‘construction business’ husband is a stickler for good workmanship. Every day, he enjoyed walking around the house discovering new intricate details. The host surprisingly decorated the property inside and out with warm festive lighting, hand-selected and well-placed accessories and a fabulous personal collection of artwork. Other welcoming 'gifts' were the cozy well-stocked library, the delicious wine, bread and fruit basket and the comforting bath/spa accessories. Our youngest son and his fiancée turned out all the lights, cuddled romantically on the big, soft sofa in front of the immense fireplace each night and gazed up through the huge windows at the breathtaking starlit sky. Our oldest son challenged the others to fierce rounds of pool games on the delightful Old English table. Everyone enjoyed cooking together in the spacious, well-stocked kitchen. My husband and I took the airy master bedroom/loft suite. The girls and boys had separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Every amenity we needed was already there. The fabulous ski area is only a 20-minute drive away - winding around evergreen clothed mountain sides. The property is strategically located between several popular nearby tourist areas only an hour or two away. The local town is well-stocked with quality groceries and supplies. I won’t tell you there’s no Wal-Mart, night-life or shopping malls nearby because you don’t think you could survive without them. I didn’t think I could either, but it was the best week our family had all year! We highly recommend this property to everyone and can’t wait to return.
