Our home, Bahama Mama is in a group of eight stone houses built in the 1940's for the Bahamian prime minister to vacation with his cabinet members and family.
My house is the only one of the houses that was built more recently 1995) but totally renovated two years ago. The group of homes is called Wykee Estates.
We have a brand new pool that is very low chlorine and eco friendly that we "share". The beach is a gorgeous pink sand beach. Both the pool and beach are just a two minute walk from my house or a 30 second golf cart ride( one comes with the house). Even at the height of the season, there is rarely another person in the pool or on the beach. It is magical!!
We are in a great location just five minutes by car from the town of Governor's harbour and eight minutes from the airport.
This five bedroom home has constant sea breezes and has water and palm tree views in every direction. We have three big bathrooms and an great stone outdoor shower. In addition to a spacious living room, 300' screened in porch and deck, there is a huge den? TV room and two TV and reading areas in different parts of the house.
We have mature fruit trees, hammocks, swings, tether ball and even a zip line (that runs between two palm trees).
The island is totally kicked back and relaxed. Forget your high heels at home along with your makeup... I even for get to bring my shoes to dinner. The adults can eat at two great beach front restaurants while the kids run on the beach and play just steps away from your table.
The residents of Eleuthera are so warm and friendly and the island is sooo safe. There are sooo many beaches with in just a few miles of our house that all are spectacular and offer various unique scenery.
I have a 30 page book that I can email you that I prepared to describe the island and our house in more detail, but I promise you Eleuthera is heaven on earth!! .

- There are small sail boats to rent about 10 minutes away, six different beaches to explore and snorkel off of all with- in 20 minutes. Charter boats can be hired to bone and deep sea fish. The world famous Harbour Island is a great day trip (45 minutes away). There is scuba there as well at the famous pink sand beach.

$400-$500/night, depending on the season.
