This original Mexican style large 2 story 2 bedroom house is situated on one of 3 scenic canals in beautiful Barra de Navidad. This newly constructed adobe home has extra sleeping room up on 2 double futons, very comfortable with plenty of room to spare.
Barra de Navidad is a family-friendly fishing and farming village. The cobblestone streets sport wonderful beachfront restaurants with lounge chairs and umbrellas that provide the perfect location to watch the day unfold with a plate of ceviche and a cerveza. Whales and dolphins are often spotted playing in the waters just offshore.
The waves are a good size and just perfect for surfing or frolicking with boogie boards. Certain portions of the beach have low tides that wash gently onto the sand, creating safe shallow areas for small children.
With a lagoon on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, there is never a lack of things to do. The fishing is fabulous and there are several charter companies with in a quick walk of Casa Hanson or simply arrange for pickup dirrectly from the casa on the canal. There is also a water park located on the edge of Barra and many inexpensive tours that can be arranged at the local taxi stop.
Water taxi's on the lagoon can take you to the marina, the Grande Bay Resort or perhaps for a Margharita at Mary's in Colomia and back to casa Hanson. A world class golf course is located just across the lagoon as well.
Some days it is perfect just to stay at home and watch the local fishermen bring in their catch, BBQ on the deck just feet away from the pool and enjoy breathtaking sunsets.

The Unique Benefits at this House
We love the quaintness of small town Barra combined with the luxery of the Grande Bay Resort across the lagoon and the fact the character of one is enhanced by the other. The lagoon offers a safe haven to boaters while a steady breeze in the Pacific promises great sailing! We never get enough of fishing & sightseeing out in the bay where birds, whales and porpoise abound.
Casa Hanson is located on one of three scenic canals in beautiful Barra de Navidad
Owner's Map of Barra de Navidad
We visited Barra de Navidad March 2006 and fell in love with the area. We purchased a lot that visit and commenced building Casa Hanson the next spring with the final project completed December 2006.
We both live and work in Northern British Columbia providing services to forestry and construction companies.
We love to sail and look forward to the time we pull our sailboat up to Casa Hanson and call it home base, with our dogs and cat in tow! Until then we love to share our special find with guests & friends, new and old.

Our two weeks at Casa Hanson were perfect. The home is beautiful and has beautiful views. It has easy access for our fishing guide to pick us up right in front. We had all the neccesary supplies in the kitchen for cooking and entertaining which was very enjoyable. We spent the afternoons by the pool drinking cervesas, playing cribbage and relaxing. Pepe was very professional and helpful as well as all the staff.

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home. We loved everything about the house - all the ameneties were great and ALL used - loved being in the pool late at night. Had massages up in the rooftop palapa. We used the girll one night to prepare a very tasty grilled fish dinner. We appreciated that there were ample towels and really liked that you provided beach towels as they take up a lot of space in your suitcase. Your location was wonderful with just a short walk to town. Barra was really great - we much prefered it over Melaque. Thank you very much......Jane, Julie, Scott and Chris May 2010

Hello Sue and Doug, Thank you so much for the rental of your home - we had a fabulous month! We made a few additions to your house... beach towels, beach umbrella, another hammock. Your house keeper was there on our last day readying for the next lucky guests - she asked me about that stuff and I told her we were leaving it at the casa. She was a lovely woman and Pepe and Manuel were really great as well! Anyways, wanted to tell you all was well, we had a great time and thank you, thank you, thank you! We can't wait to go back! cheers, Jessica

Hi Sue, Andrew and I just got back this week from our 2 week break, and I wanted to write you to say thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your place. I have to say, it was way more than we expected, and we had an absolute BLAST while we were there. We loved the town of Barra, but it was so amazing to have your place to wake up to in the morning, and hang out in the afternoons. What a gorgeous spot, and we'll be recommending it for years to come to any friends, and hope to return ourselves. Some of our favourite activities were bird-watching while drinking beer on the rooftop palapa, and lounging around the pool while drinking cocktails listening to our favourite music and dancing around the patio! We had a friend meet us there from Toronto, and I'm pretty confident in saying our stay at your place was his favourite part of the trip. What a cool, cool place. Thanks again, and take care!!! Denise
