The best thing about Elvira House for us, was the fantastic location. We were able to walk, walk and walk some more all over Rome from this central location. We walked a few minutes down the road and caught the bus to the train station on our final day in Rome, so the bus is close too. The apartment was more than large enough for our family of three. The bathroom was a little tight and the towels a little ratty, but it didn't detract from our stay at the apartment. The apartment was lovely and quiet at night, something that we didn't experience at any of our other stays in Italy. The super helpful Enzo picked us up from the airport and it was great to get off the plane and have him standing there ready to whisk us off to the apartment. Our 2 year old daughter was a bit of a nightmare of the drive to Rome, but Enzo took it all in his stride. We loved Rome and found Elvira's House was perfect for us to experience it.
Owner response:thanks a lot for your comment. I hope that you return for another holiday!! :)

Elvira House was a perfect "home" in Rome for our family of 5

Our family of 5 (two adults and three children ages 16, 13 and 10) stayed at the Elvira house for 6 nights in November 2010. It was our first trip to Italy and our first time staying at an apartment instead of a hotel and it could not have been a better experience! The apartment was exactly as pictured and described. Our three children loved using the computer and having access to the internet. They even told us that their beds were VERY comfortable! Elvira and her nephew Lorenzo (who works at the market below the apartment) were so gracious and helpful with any questions that we had during our stay. In fact, we felt as though we had "family" in Rome that looked out for us during our vacation! Lorenzo's market was perfect for picking up breakfast supplies each morning as well as any essentials that were needed during the week. The apartment was in a perfect location! It was located in a very safe, quiet neighborhood with the market, a tabacchi store, cafe and bar right on the street. There were many nearby sightseeing destinations (Forum, Coliseum, Capital Museum, etc) and conveniences (cafes, restaurants, shops, transportation, etc). We recommend going to Via Cavour (which is on the way to the Coliseum) to find delicious gelato, excellent restaurants that are reasonably priced and many souvenir shops. Elvira arranged with Riccardo to have a transport van pick us up from the airport and also take us to and from the Termini station when we traveled to Florence. Riccardo was very pleasant and very reliable even when our schedule changed and the weather wasn't cooperative. It was wonderful to have so many people that you could rely on when traveling in a foreign country! We highly recommend staying at the Elvira house and hope to return there someday!

We stayed at Elvira's in Sept. of 2010 and enjoyed it very much It is within a short walk to the Forum, Collaseum, and the Tiber River. If you need to go further, the bus stop is very close as well and the store across the street sells tickets. Elvira's nephew, Lorenzo works at the market next door and is very friendly. The cafe around the corner is also very nice and we had a nightcap almost every night with the guys who worked there. The cafe directly across the street has good food, but is pricey. The bed in the master is very comfy and the unit is very quiet. Highly suggest that you get Enzo to pick you up at the airport. We were two hours late and he was still there waiting for us! Thanks for such a great time, Elvira. We hope to come back! The Cantrell's

My family of 7 (3 adults, 4 children) stayed at Elvira's apartment last week and had a wonderful 3 day visit to Rome. The apartment was exactly as descibed and the location was perfect for sightseeing. Mr. Enzo gave us great service to and from the airport and the mini-market below the apartment (where Elvira's nephew works) was fabulous for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the airconditioning was crucial for a July visit. We would definitely stay here again!
Owner response:Thanks I am very happy that your stay was nice and comfortable home for the whole family, you were really nice. Thank you soon

A presto Elvira

We stayed as a couple from May 15 to May 23 -- a great time to be in Rome. The apartment was everything Elvira says it is: a well-appointed apartment in a good location for tourist areas and with ready access to bus routes and in a neat neighbourhood with tabacchi, grocery store and bars right there. Peppe was especially helpful with a little problem we had (nothing to do with the apartment.)
Owner response:thanks a lot and we hope that we may find again next year! Have a good day Elvira

Our family of 5 stayed at Elvira's the last week of January. We absolutely loved the apartment. The location could not have been better. It was in the middle of the historical center, with the forum literally RIGHT around the corner. We were able to walk almost everywhere, but the metro and bus were close and easy to use. The apt. was roomy and the heat worked great, which was nice after of a day of walking in the cold. The area and XVI century building are just beautiful. As a group of 5 women we felt very safe in this neighborhood. Take advantage of the airport pickup that Elvira offers. We had Elvira's Uncle Enzo and Uncle PePe pick us up and return us to the airport and they were both a joy and such characters. Mr Enzo gave us great practical advice on the area and sites to see. I hope to return with my husband in the near future and would not stay anywhere other than Elvira's, we thought it was perfect!

We (2 adults & 2 kids, 12 & 8 years old) stayed at Elvira's house and spent a fantastic time. The house is very well located, near the Forum and the Campidoglio on a lovely and quiet zone, on an old typical Roman building. The apartment is very comfortable, with big bedrooms and kitchen/living room. There was even a computer with Internet, very useful, and the kids loved it, of course. The bathroom is little, but otherwise OK. Elvira and his gather Pepe are very kind. Pepe took us to the airport and we enjoyed his culture and knowledge of Rome very much.We only regret spending too few days at Elvira's House, next time we should stay 1 week !

My family and I had a great time at the Elvira house. It is very close to centre of everywhere so you can just about walk everywhere if you're up from it. The apartment is 5 mins walk from Santa Maria in Cosmedien AKA Bocca Del Verita ( this is the face from Roman Holiday where Hepburn puts her hand in the mouth) It's a great Church, well worth the visit and it's free! Also the apartment backs onto the Wedding Cake and Capitolini so these trip are minutes from your door and you're also minute from the Tiber River which is beautiful. It's all very good with a reasonable price, I would definitley go again, oh and I would also book Mr Enzo for the flight to and from the airport for a seemless journey! Thanks again! Dear Elvira, We, a family of 4, spent 4 days in late August 2009 in your apartment. Everything was as described on the web page, only good surprises. The location was perfect and the apartment was comfortable. We really appreciated the kindness of Peppe & Simona. They made sure that we were ok during our stay. Thank you so very much and we'll look you up again if we decided to come back again to Rome. Best Regards, Bernard Sellem & Family.
