Our family of 5 (two adults and three children ages 16, 13 and 10) stayed at the Elvira house for 6 nights in November 2010. It was our first trip to Italy and our first time staying at an apartment instead of a hotel and it could not have been a better experience! The apartment was exactly as pictured and described. Our three children loved using the computer and having access to the internet. They even told us that their beds were VERY comfortable! Elvira and her nephew Lorenzo (who works at the market below the apartment) were so gracious and helpful with any questions that we had during our stay. In fact, we felt as though we had "family" in Rome that looked out for us during our vacation! Lorenzo's market was perfect for picking up breakfast supplies each morning as well as any essentials that were needed during the week. The apartment was in a perfect location! It was located in a very safe, quiet neighborhood with the market, a tabacchi store, cafe and bar right on the street. There were many nearby sightseeing destinations (Forum, Coliseum, Capital Museum, etc) and conveniences (cafes, restaurants, shops, transportation, etc). We recommend going to Via Cavour (which is on the way to the Coliseum) to find delicious gelato, excellent restaurants that are reasonably priced and many souvenir shops. Elvira arranged with Riccardo to have a transport van pick us up from the airport and also take us to and from the Termini station when we traveled to Florence. Riccardo was very pleasant and very reliable even when our schedule changed and the weather wasn't cooperative. It was wonderful to have so many people that you could rely on when traveling in a foreign country! We highly recommend staying at the Elvira house and hope to return there someday!

We stayed at Elvira's in Sept. of 2010 and enjoyed it very much It is within a short walk to the Forum, Collaseum, and the Tiber River. If you need to go further, the bus stop is very close as well and the store across the street sells tickets. Elvira's nephew, Lorenzo works at the market next door and is very friendly. The cafe around the corner is also very nice and we had a nightcap almost every night with the guys who worked there. The cafe directly across the street has good food, but is pricey. The bed in the master is very comfy and the unit is very quiet. Highly suggest that you get Enzo to pick you up at the airport. We were two hours late and he was still there waiting for us! Thanks for such a great time, Elvira. We hope to come back! The Cantrell's

A presto Elvira

My family of 7 (3 adults, 4 children) stayed at Elvira's apartment last week and had a wonderful 3 day visit to Rome. The apartment was exactly as descibed and the location was perfect for sightseeing. Mr. Enzo gave us great service to and from the airport and the mini-market below the apartment (where Elvira's nephew works) was fabulous for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the airconditioning was crucial for a July visit. We would definitely stay here again!
Owner response:Thanks I am very happy that your stay was nice and comfortable home for the whole family, you were really nice. Thank you soon

The best thing about Elvira House for us, was the fantastic location. We were able to walk, walk and walk some more all over Rome from this central location. We walked a few minutes down the road and caught the bus to the train station on our final day in Rome, so the bus is close too. The apartment was more than large enough for our family of three. The bathroom was a little tight and the towels a little ratty, but it didn't detract from our stay at the apartment. The apartment was lovely and quiet at night, something that we didn't experience at any of our other stays in Italy. The super helpful Enzo picked us up from the airport and it was great to get off the plane and have him standing there ready to whisk us off to the apartment. Our 2 year old daughter was a bit of a nightmare of the drive to Rome, but Enzo took it all in his stride. We loved Rome and found Elvira's House was perfect for us to experience it.
Owner response:thanks a lot for your comment. I hope that you return for another holiday!! :)

We stayed as a couple from May 15 to May 23 -- a great time to be in Rome. The apartment was everything Elvira says it is: a well-appointed apartment in a good location for tourist areas and with ready access to bus routes and in a neat neighbourhood with tabacchi, grocery store and bars right there. Peppe was especially helpful with a little problem we had (nothing to do with the apartment.)
Owner response:thanks a lot and we hope that we may find again next year! Have a good day Elvira

Our family of 5 stayed at Elvira's the last week of January. We absolutely loved the apartment. The location could not have been better. It was in the middle of the historical center, with the forum literally RIGHT around the corner. We were able to walk almost everywhere, but the metro and bus were close and easy to use. The apt. was roomy and the heat worked great, which was nice after of a day of walking in the cold. The area and XVI century building are just beautiful. As a group of 5 women we felt very safe in this neighborhood. Take advantage of the airport pickup that Elvira offers. We had Elvira's Uncle Enzo and Uncle PePe pick us up and return us to the airport and they were both a joy and such characters. Mr Enzo gave us great practical advice on the area and sites to see. I hope to return with my husband in the near future and would not stay anywhere other than Elvira's, we thought it was perfect!

We (2 adults & 2 kids, 12 & 8 years old) stayed at Elvira's house and spent a fantastic time. The house is very well located, near the Forum and the Campidoglio on a lovely and quiet zone, on an old typical Roman building. The apartment is very comfortable, with big bedrooms and kitchen/living room. There was even a computer with Internet, very useful, and the kids loved it, of course. The bathroom is little, but otherwise OK. Elvira and his gather Pepe are very kind. Pepe took us to the airport and we enjoyed his culture and knowledge of Rome very much.We only regret spending too few days at Elvira's House, next time we should stay 1 week !

My family and I had a great time at the Elvira house. It is very close to centre of everywhere so you can just about walk everywhere if you're up from it. The apartment is 5 mins walk from Santa Maria in Cosmedien AKA Bocca Del Verita ( this is the face from Roman Holiday where Hepburn puts her hand in the mouth) It's a great Church, well worth the visit and it's free! Also the apartment backs onto the Wedding Cake and Capitolini so these trip are minutes from your door and you're also minute from the Tiber River which is beautiful. It's all very good with a reasonable price, I would definitley go again, oh and I would also book Mr Enzo for the flight to and from the airport for a seemless journey! Thanks again! Dear Elvira, We, a family of 4, spent 4 days in late August 2009 in your apartment. Everything was as described on the web page, only good surprises. The location was perfect and the apartment was comfortable. We really appreciated the kindness of Peppe & Simona. They made sure that we were ok during our stay. Thank you so very much and we'll look you up again if we decided to come back again to Rome. Best Regards, Bernard Sellem & Family.

The house is located in a beautiful place, right in the center of Rome under the Roman Forum, we are a family with 3 children, we were really comfortable, the house is spacious, there is everything in the kitchen, the owner "Elvira "is a lovely lady, gave us all the information to move on foot in the city center, in the house have internet access which was useful to book tickets to visit the Vatican, under the apartment you find a mini market, where he worked for the nephew of "Elvira" is called "Lorenzo". This apartment recommend it to everyone in both the position and for the prices that are very affordable for a family. Thanks "Elvira", will return soon. Alexander and Daniella

The apartment is in a very nice location, near the Campidoglio and Roman Forum. It has a very good location for exploring the city on foot or by bus. The apartment is comfortable with air conditioning, satellite TV. It's a good place to accommodate a family of 6, but the only bathroom is to tight for moving around. Nevertheless we recommend this apartment for a good vacation in Rome.

Elvira's apartment was perfect for our family for our 4 day stay in Rome. The location is amazing - a short walk to many of the major attractions (and the bus is very close too). The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet! (and the AC a blessing in the heat of a Roman summer!) and Elvira was extremely accommodating. As others have noted, there is a small grocer literally next door, a cafe and restaurant across the way, as well as a tabac. We will definitely stay again ... in fact we will be in a couple of weeks :-) Matt & Linda

The house is magnificent, very comfortable for a family of 6 persons, is situated in a beautiful place in the Center of Rome, in the house there are all the comforts, air conditioning, plasma TV, all the accessories of the kitchen to prepare good meals. In the apartment there is a good bar to have breakfast in the morning, just below the apartment you can find a small supermarket for shopping, where Lorenzo is the grandson of adoration hostess "Elvira", nice, kind you gave all the signs for a wonderful stay in his apartment. We recommend it to all those who truly want to stay in the Heart of Old Town. "is a beautiful house"

We absolutely loved staying at Elvira's house. Elvira was a charming host, and was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire process (from the first e-mail I sent her until we got back home). The location is just perfect, you can walk to all the sites in the historic centre and the apartment is just outside the "car restricted" zone so if you have a car you can park near the apartment. The house was great, very clean with all the necessary amenities. Best of all it truly gave us a sense of what it's like to live as romans do... with the local grocery shop right downstairs, a bar for the morning "caffe e cornetto" right in front. For a special meal try the restaurant across the street (San Teodoro), it's expensive but the food was simply extraordinary. We look forward to staying here on our next trip to Rome. Thank you Elvira!! Alberto Autmezguine & family from Bermuda

We have just returned from Rome where we stayed 6 nights at Elvira house. We were pleasently surprised at how close many of the sites were. We walked everywhere. There is a bus stop close by also if you want to jump on a stop and go on a site seeing tour which we did and was well worth it! There is a small market right next door that we shopped at and then cooked in the apartment.Fresh bread and sandwich meat a nice change from getting over charged at a few of the resturants. We had a great dinner at a resononable price at the resturant on the corner by the steps.(right outside the apartment). Elvira was a welcoming and friendly host who made us feel at home in her apartment. The option of having her uncle drive us to the airport for a resonable price was so appreciated as we overpaid a taxi when we first arriving to Rome. Thank-you to Elvira, her uncle and her nephew for their kind hospitality. The Mckay's from Canada
