A perfect place for a romantic getaway

My wife and I stayed in a different unit at Makena Surf a few years ago and we agree that this is the unit we would like to stay in again. While the other unit appeared to have been more recently remodeled and had a slightly better location, it cost almost TWICE as much per night! This unit is clean, well-maintained, and has spectacular views. It is exactly as shown in the photos. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals and the gas grill on the lanai was a nice surprise. The free WiFi was also very much appreciated as well. Also, since we rarely saw or heard other guests, it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Overall, it's a perfect place for a romantic getaway at a great price.

We spent 2 glorious weeks at the beautiful Makena Surf the owners are so accommodating we had a few issues getting our deposit to them but they were so kind and patient with us in regards to this whole matter, that I can't say enough thanks to Mitch.The condo it's self is exactly what you see in the photo's except for the view from the lania you just have to be there to experience it's true beauty the sound of the ocean and the songs of the birds while you sit and soak up the sunshine, it's absolutely PARADISE.The only down fall for me was the beds were not the most comfy memory foam would help.The grounds at Makena Surf are like a tropical garden oasis we were there the first two weeks of May and every luscious plant was about to burst into bloom or was in bloom and the smells from the jasmine were intoxicating to say the least. Especially around the hottub area this was lovely in the evening after a fun filled day at Chang beach in which you look on to from your lania. We had the pleasure of watching many couples tie-the-knott right on the beach.Chang beach is a public beach but I believe it is one of the best kept secrets on Maui we basically had the beach to ourselves during the day.We swam with the turtles daily right out front of the condo.Many boats bring people to this area for the snorkeling your right there no need to pay to play .There are so many things to do on Maui but if you have been before and just want to relax,eat drink and soak up the sun this is a great place for you.On the days where you would like to do some thing else you can head down to Big beach grab yourselves some fish taco's or yummy burritos from the vendors on the road side or right at big beach or venture a little farther down the road to the reserve where you will find the best snorkeling on Maui, Le Perouse is a bit further along the road and when you go make sure to wear good shoes so you can go for a amazing walk through the lava fields.If you want to shop it's so close to the shops of Wailia and the four seasons is a nice place to stop for a beverage in the evening, it's nicely lite up at night time. Make sure to go sailing out of Lahina the America 2 is the boat I would recommend it was a blast, although it may not be best to take little ones on this. Book the 2pm and get back at 4pm then you can head up to the Hula Grill restaurant for dinner and the sunset.Now if you enjoy Italian go to Matto's up the hill from the shops of Wailia great food good prices

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo. The view from the lanai and the living/dining rooms are spectacular!. The lanai is huge and is the perfect place to have lunch and dinner watching and hearing the ocean. The condo is extremely well equipped. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or for a family of up to five people. We are looking forward to returning there.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
