Fripp Island is the ultimate vacation destination as it offers a myriad of choices. Lounge on the beach with family/friends, collect shells, watch for dolphins or enjoy the surf (not to mention sunrises and sunsets at no additional charge). Or, play either of the two championship golf courses, the George Cobb designed ocean/links style Ocean Point course or the Davis Love III course, Ocean Creek, given 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest. Tennis anyone? With ten courts there is room for all. There is professional instructors available for both the golf and tennis venues, including clinics for adults and children. Ride bikes. Go fishing on the island or deepsea with one of the available charters. Jog/walk. Pick one of the eight pools for a dip. An ocean front bar is also available for your enjoyment.
Four on island restaurants offer various family friendly options. Excursions to Beaufort, a lovely historic town, is just 30 minutes away. Savannah, Ga. is 75 minutes and Charleston, S C is two hours away. All offer a large selection of cultural and historic sites as well as museums. Check out the carriage rides!
We must not forget Camp Fripp which offers activities for youths from 3 to 12, not only during the day but also in the evening, in case you want some adult time. The Activities Center also provides entertainment options for teens. There are eight public pools available for your use, including the Cabana Club. This complex offers three pools, one heated pool, one kiddie pool and one pool with a misty cave and waterfalls entrance. Also the Cabana complex has a grill and a poolside bar for your enjoyment.
