Location: Bass Lake, Yosemite Area, Gold Country & High Sierra, California, USA (Bass Lake 93669 (1.3 Miles from Bass Lake))
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 5)
Keywords: Home
Located less than 1.5 miles from the Bass lake dam and boat launch, and at approximately 3,500 feet, this tidy 1,500 square foot 2 bedroom 2 bath manufactured home on over an acre of wooded land offers the guest a quiet and secluded mountain view location, yet is two minutes from Bass Lake, 5 minutes to the town of North Fork, approximately 20 minutes to Oakhurst, and about 35 minutes to the Yosemite National Park Entrance.
This is the lowest priced rental in the area and offers excellent privacy compared to any nearby hotel. There is a creek and small lake (Manazanita Lake) less than 5 minutes away, and the air quality is great, with deep blue skies most of the time. The home is located in a "no hunting" zone. Comes with all appliances, including washer/dryer. Has TV/VCR/DVD, and internet access, but no cable TV. We have never found this to be a detriment, as this is an outdoors paradise, and most people enjoy getting away from the busy life here. Good cell phone service.
This home is ideal for for couples or a small family (up to 5 people). It features a full length deck with terrific views. Ideal location for winter relaxation or summer recreation, and offers boating, kayaking, mountain biking and motorcycle riding within minutes. Occasional deer and wild turkey sightings on property. Keep in mind, this is a manaufactured or "mobile" home, which makes no difference to most people given the spacious layout, large deck, ammenities, and beautiful surroundings. My girlfriends and I decided to get out of town for couple of days and a friend hooked us up for this rental. We found it a good choice for us, due to the fact we weren't in the middle of other travelers, but close enough to hang out with them if we wanted. Spent one day at Bass Lake on a boat rental and the other shopping at Bass Lake and Oakhurst. Where this rental is located, you had a choice of whether or not you wanted to participate or just veg. out..Thanks for a great girls weekend away.

I really enjoyed the location of this place, my friend and I went to my grandson's wedding and while we were staying at this place we enjoyed meals at Miller's Landing. It was close to Yosemite, Oakhurst and Bass Lake, where we enjoyed watching people sailboating and playing in the lake. I would highly recommend it to my friends who are 55+.

Pros- 1) Awesome Deck.. huge backyard, beautiful sunrise, wild encounters.. saw deers in mornings 2) Owner is very nice n prompt Cons- 1) Approach road is under construction n turn is little scary (only at nite though) Dunno if the following wud aplly every time 2) House had pet smell n hair all over .. beds, couches.. it was hard to live in for 2 nights 3) Little n no hot water in showers, we ended up bathing in almost cold water when it was 20 degrees outside.. not a good exp 4) All the utensils in the kitchen were not properly cleaned, i ended up cleaning them both before n after use.. why did we pay the cleaning fees then. Overall not a great experience for us.
Owner response:Hot water has never been an issue, water heater left on "pilot" position, however. The access road is paved, our driveway is gravel. Keep in mind you are not in the city. Many of the places up here rent from $300-$7500 night, so we try to offer a clean/convenient place for the lowest rate in the area. We do allow a hosebroken, non-agressive pet, and have labradors ourselves. We have never had any feedback on pet hair, but will swiftly address this if we see any....our cleaning lady is excellent, however, and the place is very clean when we see it after guests leave. We live fairly close and are only a phone call away if there are questions/concerns.
Recommended for:Pet owners.

Fabulous hidden retreat - nestled in the woods. We recently stayed with our doggie and will definitely be back. It was peaceful, large accommodations, great deck to watch the deer every evening, and it was BEAUTIFUL! The pictures don't do it justice. The owners are friendly as well! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet location surrounded by nature! :)
