Why the Owner Chose Sevierville

At the age of 15 years old in the family march break motor home trip, we went through Kentucky and Tennessee. I fell in love with the mountains of Tennessee, particularly the Smoky Mountains. What a trip, burned out breaks, tubing, fly fishing, scouting out the waterfalls, you name it we did it. And oh yah!! The Mills Brothers cassette tape, by the time we were home, I new all the words by memory, propably do even today, my dad was in a phase, what can I say, myself, country music, bluegrass is my nitch.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

I vowed at the early age that before I retire I would have a log cabin in the mountains, so we set out on this adventure, renting for 15 years, every time a different cabin, to find the likes and dislikes of each cabin and keeping notes as to what our perfect getaway needed to have. Cozy feeling when walking in, but homey, very comfortable furniture and enough furniture to relax and settle in with a good book infront of a cozy fireplace. Decorated for the seasons, was huge for me, I always brought my christmas tree, lights, ornaments and lights for the outside of the cabin even for a weeks stay over the holidays. I did that each and every holiday we were fortunate enough to do over the years, heat up some warm apple cidar, something about the smell in a warm, cozy log cabin. So the hunt started in 1991 and finally found the perfect setting in 2005 over our fall outing to the Smokies. Tucked back of the road, the cabin spoke to me from the street, but the inside another story entirely, a gut job in the works. Thus, 6 months in the making, new lodge style decor, lighting and comfy furniture. Stag's Leap was born anew. Many, many vacationers have called Stag's Leap their home away from home, warm and inviting, and we couldn't agree more.

Owner's Map of Sevierville

The mountains are the calming factor of our lives, both working in retail for years and years, the only place my husband can relax and unwind in to get away. Fishing and mountains within 20 minutes of the cabin, his ultimate vacation spot. For me curled up on a cozy couch, hot chocolate and a good movie with the warm glow of the fireplace is just perfect. Or curled up with a warm blanket on the covered front porch watching the wild turkeys and birds come into the property, heaven, that's all I can say.

    • We had a fabulous time at "Stag's Leap." What a beautiful cabin! We rocked each evening away on the front porch and were surprised at the raccoon that came to visit. Each morning started with breakfast on the back deck. It took us until noon each day to make ourselves leave for our day of sight seeing. The cabin is beautifully decorated and is so warm and cozy. It provided a much needed rest before our daughter's wedding next month. We had a great time with dear friends. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin in the Smokies.

      Homeowner Response:
We hope that Stag's Leap offered you the cozy, relaxing and laid back time you wanted before the hectic pace of your upcoming family wedding. The front porch is one of our favorite spots to relax on. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves.

    • Chris & Carolyn, Thank you so much for offering your beautiful cabin on the rental program. This was just the place we had been looking for.Very quiet and peaceful and so beautifully decorated. The roads to it are very nice no steep mountain roads to climb and the location was great!Loved the large covered porch. We spent alot of time out there watching the squirrels play.I think we counted 20 at one time and we even had a wild turkey and a cute racoon come up to visit. We did not want to leave. We are booking again for October for a week.We cannot say enough about this cabin or the wonderful couple who own it.It is first class all the way with them.We highly recommend this cabin to everyone.

      Homeowner Response:
Chris & I are so pleased you were able to enjoy our little peace of heaven that we have been blessed with. Looking forward to talking with you again while you book for the fall, that is my most favorite time of the year in the Smokies, we believe you will enjoy the cabin even more with the fall decorations and the beautiful foliage

    • We had a wonderful visit at your cabins this past weekend. The weather was mild and the mountains inviting. We are frequent visitors to the area and have stayed at several other cabins and your cabin has a warm and welcoming feeling from the moment you walk in the door. We found everything clean, well stock and ready for our visit. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens I have seen with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the local wildlife and while we didn't see the large flock of turkeys we did see a smaller group and one of the largest racoons we have ever seen. We will definitely be back to enjoy another dose of the mountain magic you have filled this cabin with.

    • I wanted an alternative to a hotel room without giving up the easiness of one. I got the best of both worlds with this cozy cabin. I loved the decor, I camped out on the swing and watched the turkey and racoon, and was so content. I was able to cook several meals for my special diet inlaws, the kitchen was wonderfully stocked. If we had to go out to eat 3 meals a day, we wouldn't have anytime to rest, and would have spent a fortune. This was wonderful, and we definately will be back. Didn't get to check out the hot tub, but I think we took advantage of all the other amenities. My mother in law loved the checker table, and I beat the father in law at cards, alot. Really fabulous alternative to hotels. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Doug and Suzie Kirkendoll

    • This cabin is the most beautiful and comfortable cabin we have ever stayed in! Everything was immaculate. Very accessible for my elderly in-laws. The pool table and hot tub were the highlights of our children's trip. The view is beautiful, sitting on the front porch swings was so relaxing. We will definatly be back to this cabin and are looking into staying at her sister cabin this fall. We had the pleasure of meeting Chris and he was very personable. Carolyn kept me informed with answering all of my question. They have excellent communication. We just want to say thank you for letting us stay at your dream house, it will forever let us hold memories in our hearts! You will not be dissappointed if you stay at this lovely cabin. God Bless, The Adams Family

      Homeowner Response:
I am sorry I wasn't able to meet up with you both at Stag's Leap during your trip, hopefully another time. We are both so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at our little piece of heaven in the Smokies, and would love to have you back anytime for a relaxing getaway to the Smokies.

    • We just returned from a wonderful stay at "Stag's Leap". We do believe this is the nicest cabin we have had the opportunity to stay in. It is decorated beautifully and so nice and cozy! Our 2 yr. old loved the deer decor and was amazed by the 23 (didn't expect that many) turkeys that greeted us at 7:00am Saturday morning. He was up the next morning looking for them again. We enjoyed the privacy that the wooded area offered. This is rare and hard to find with a lot of cabins in the area. It was not hard to find either...we liked the access from Dawn's lane better than the other side. We arrived in town around 6:00pm, at dark, and drove straight to it with no problems. We have been looking for a cabin that we can return to again and again. I think this just may be it!!! Thanks for all your help Carolyn!

      Homeowner Response:
Stacey & Eric, we were glad to hear the turkeys were out for your little one to see. When ever you need some R & R feel free to contact us again, we would love to have you stay with us again. Thank you.
