My family of eleven (11) spent a week at "Back of the Moon" and had a glorious time. Let's start with the youngest member at 20 months old who was snug and cozy in her playpen in a huge walkin closet in the queen bedroom downstairs. The queen bedroom was shared by her older sister and cousin. In a small alcove was an adorable bunkbed area shared by her brother and cousin. The king size bedroom was occupied by her mom and dad. The downstairs area included a large living area and a hot tub outside the french doors. The main level had a king size master bedroom and bath used by our son and daughter-in-law. The bathroom was wonderful, with a jet tub, and a small deck off the french doors. The main level housed the living and dining rooms open to another seating and dining area on the lovely deck. The furnishings and beds were comfortable as well as high end. The home was well maintained, clean and delightful to be in. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. The bedroom upstairs had twin beds and it's own bathroom and that was Granny and Grandpa's space. While there Granny and Grandpa celebrated their 70th birthdays, complete with cake, crowns, gifts and decorations. The beach (which was sandy) had several umbrellas, chaise lounges and chairs. Out onto the deck were more places to sit, a paddleboat, slide and diving board. The lake was clean, clear and warm enough for all. The five grandchildren had wonderful days spent in this area. My only complaint (and it is minor) would be that two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and two rolls of paper towels in the kitchen were not adequate for a family of 11 for an entire week. We have all decided that this should be an annual event for our California and Washington families. It was' without reservation, the BEST vacation we have had in the past. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, JudyRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+.

We stayed here for our first visit to Coeur d'Alene. It was a wonderful time and easy to find. The cabin is much cozier than the pictures show. It was very comfortable and clean. The beach and dock are a quick walk down the hill. We enjoyed the hot tub every night. Neighbours were quiet. The house was well supplied with everything we needed. We couldn't find an axe for the firewood and ran out of laundry soap but that was solved with a phone call to the concierge who were very efficient. We had brought our boat and it was easy to dock and get into downtown quickly. We did originally bring our boat to the cabin which was a mistake. I would recommend launching your boat at Mica bay and driving over to the dock. There is room to park your boat trailer but not much room to move around. All around it was a wonderful stay and we enjoyed it very much. I would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Gary, Thank you for your nice comments regarding our home. I am thrilled that you enjoyed yourselves. It is such a sweet relaxing place and I am so glad that we could share it with you and your family. Please join us again! Regards, Michelle Wilson

My family of five stayed in the Kidd Island Bay Lakefront Cottage for two weeks in August and had a great time. The cottage was beautiful, well-maintained, roomy and comfortable. The cottage was right on the lake with a sandy beach and a dock with diving board and slide for the kids. We spent lots of time swimming, boating, hiking and just enjoying the beautiful view from the lake. The renters were very easy to work with and provided lots of information about the house and surrounding area. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away and enjoy the mountains, the lake and their family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This vacation home was absolutely perfect for our family celebration. The home is roomy, well decorated, and there is an attention to detail that made our stay relaxing and fun. The views are beautiful, yet the setting is private. We enjoyed long walks, bike rides, boating, swimming and sunbathing! The owners were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this beautiful home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Kidd Island Bay Lakefront Cottage is ideal for a family vacation. From Willow (age 2) to Grandpa (67) all eight of us had a great time during July 4 week. The home is well furnished, immaculately maintained and equipped with first-class linens, utensils, kitchen appliances etc. Wraparound deck with propane grill is perfect for family meals. We used the beach and dock daily--great view of the fireworks from the dock. Water's still chilly (but swimmable) in early July, so shorty wetsuits are helpful. The floating PWC platforms are great for those who rent WaveRunners. The owners and their maintenance/concierge firm are most cooperative and helpful. When a promised paddleboat wasn't at the dock, the concierge folks tracked it down immediately. We couldn't have asked for more in a vacation rental.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: My Husband and I came to Lake Coeur d' Alene ten years ago when it was still a sleepy little lake town community. We absolutely fell in love with the area and knew that it was a place that we wanted to return to each year to spend summers raising our family. We have four children who can't get enough of the lake. They are all avid water skiers and wake boarders, love scuba diving, fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. The picture shown is of our youngest, Chandlor and his older brother Taylor. Taylor just caught his first fish and proudly posted a note to read " Fish in Frige" on the refrigerator so we could see it immediately. I still have the note and cherish all the special moments this place has provided. We trust you will also find the magic! Steve and Michelle Wilson, Greenwood Village, Colorado
