Our apartment is located at Big Creek Village which is about two miles away from Bocas del Toro and easily accessed via water taxi, land taxi, bicycle etc.
The archipelago that the Isla Colon is part of is the second largest barrier reef in the world. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute is about one mile away with tours available. Popular surf spots are nearby including Bluff, Paunch, Dumpers, Silverbacks, and Bocas del Drago. Snorkeling cruises to Bird Island, Zapatillo, and several other reefs, cays, etc. too numerous to mention can be easily arranged. Scuba diving tours are also readily available.
There are more than 900 species of birds in Panama and we are located about 200 meters from the beach and on the edge of the rain forest so bird watching is also an attraction.
Being on the Caribbean side and below the hurricane belt there aren't too many storms here.
At Casa del Cazador you are only about an hour boat ride from Costa Rica.
