Description
What makes Quarry Point incredibly unique is the view from the house, just 40 feet from the shoreline. Both the house and the semi-attached cottage look straight down picturesque Somes Sound with the mountains of Acadia National Park on either side of the Point. The sunsets from the side deck are spectacular. It is a beautiful location for a Maine vacation. The compound which is located in Northeast Harbor is only minutes away from Acadia National Park trailheads, golf, tennis, and Bar Harbor attractions.
The main cottage, facing south, has been recently renovated and is bright and cheerful with water views from every room. There is a deck surrounding two sides of the main house with easy access to the shore. The semi attached cottage, with its own deck, is a step away from the rear patio deck of the main house. It too has picture perfect water views.
The main house is accessed from the patio deck in the rear. From there one enters a foyer. To the left is the great room with a modern kitchen with granite countertops and a large island opening to a spacious living room overlooking Somes Sound, with full length slider door/window sets providing easy access to the property. There is a dining area, granite fireplace and an entertainment center for a warm fire and music on a cool Maine evening. A small hall leads to a den, powder room and master suite. To the right of the foyer is a two bedroom wing.
Accommodations
The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining area comfortably seats 8 and flows seamlessly to the living area. Off the living room is an office/den with its own view of the Sound, cozy sleeping accommodations for two, and easy access to a 1/2 bath. The Master Bedroom Suite has an Olympic size queen bed with a bathroom and shower. In addition, it has its own sliders with direct access to the outdoors.
On the other side of the foyer there is a wonderful wing containing two bedrooms and two full baths. The guest room with queen bed offers a private bath with a tub and shower. The back bed room has a king-size bed that is two twins pushed together which can be separated if requested, and has a bathroom with a shower. It too has its own slider doors with direct access to its own short path to the shore.
The semi-attached cottage, which is more rustic, consists of a large room with a queen size bed, a single bed, a bath and shower and its own deck with beautiful views down Somes Sound.

Quarry Point- Ocean Frontage Views of Acadia National Park
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Northeast Harbor
After we retired in 2005 we decided to rennovate and expand the old camp that had been located here. After all those years we knew we wanted to spend more time here and that our children and grandchildren would enjoy it.
The Unique Benefits at this house
We enjoy the privacy of Quarry Point. Hearing the loon's call in the morning; watching a glorius sunset on Somes Sound from our deck; hiking 1/2 mile from the backdoor to Giant Slide Trail and ascending Sargent Mountain for a swim in Sargrnt Mountain Pond; launching a kayak from our Point and paddling around Sargent Point; driving over to Kebo Valley Golf Club for a round on one of America's most senic golf courses; Browsing the quaint shops and galleries in Northeast Harbor; we love it all.
Just a few miles from Quarry Point you can drive one of the most impressive oceanfront roads in the country.
Launch your kayak;there are two included in the rental; from the rocks in front of Quarry Cove and enjoy the senic views of Acadia, the small coves, and Somesville harbor.
Only a short walk from Quarry Point, start a hike on Giant Slide Trail, and enjoy the network of well maintained trails and carriage roads in the Park.
Golf at Kebo Valley Club near Bar Harbor with outstanding views of the mountains and the Park
The quaint village has wonderful galleries and shops in addition to the Asticou gardens, the Thuya gardens and a beautiful harbor.
Owner's Map of Northeast Harbor
We are both retired and spend as much time as possible here in Maine. Our family has been coming here since 1960 when the land was purchased. We enjoy the outdoors and the accessibility to golf, hiking, biking, and boating. These features have made Quarry Point a magnet for our children's and grandchildren's August vacations.

This is a great deal in a great location. Private, beautiful house with tons of shoreline to enjoy and nearby attractions to keep you busy for weeks. Owners were great to work with and house was exactly as described. Can't wait to go back!
Owner response:What a wonderful review. We hope that future renters will enjoy Quarry Point as much as we do, and will ask us for more information or additional pictures, if they would like,so that they will be able to understand how this reviewer came to enjoy Quarry Point so much.
