Welcome to 'The Dryades House'! Located in a safe, residential uptown area, our home is near several famous New Orleans restaurants and just 3 blocks from the world famous St Charles Avenue and the St Charles streetcar (fare $1.25).
A streetcar ride down St Charles Ave takes you past majestic oaks and grand mansions to the French Quarter and Audubon Zoo. Magazine Street, with its stylish shops and restaurants, is a short walk or bus ride away.
The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is just 3 miles from the house, a quick 8 minute drive.

# 1 ~ Reserve The Dryades House: 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Den with new (2012) LazyBoy queen sofa bed with integral SlumberAir inflatable mattress, full Kitchen & Laundry. This part of the home sleeps up to 6 guests.
# 2 ~ Reserve The Dryades Suite: 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, mini-kitchen, plus Den with new (2010) LazyBoy queen sofa bed with integral SlumberAir inflatable mattress. The suite sleeps up to 4 guests, but is ideal for a couple.
# 3 ~ Or, reserve both and sleep up to 10 guests!
When you arrive for your stay at The Dryades House, you will be welcomed by the inviting front porch of this traditional shotgun-style home. The home's recent renovation includes the addition of central air and heat, new kitchen & two updated baths in The Dryades House. There are still many lovely historic architectural details such as: 12 inch baseboards, transoms, hardwood floors, and 11 ft ceilings.
The interior walls are adorned by local art and photos of local sights. This is a typical shotgun-style house in which one room leads to the next room. There are two bathrooms in the Dryades House, each located just steps away from a bedroom. The living room is located at the front of the house, the kitchen, dining and laudry are located at the rear of the home. All you need to do is bring your clothes & groceries. The home is completely set up with all you’ll need to “live like a local”.

We had a wonderful time staying at Dryades House for the first weekend of Jazz Fest 2013. The location was charming and quaint, a railroad flat that's been beautifully kept. And just within walking distance were three different restaurants we not only at ate but enjoyed thoroughly. Plus it was conveniently located for driving forays into the French Quarter and to Jazz Fest itself. We had two great days at Jazz Fest, returning each night to the welcoming comfort of Dryades House. We would absolutely return there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We stayed with 5 ladies and it was perfect! We had a rental car that we used to get into the city and never had a problem parking at the house. Love how dark the curtains keep the room to sleep in!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

the description of the property is very accurate, if you take the video tour you will see everything is as advertised. The property was very clean, and so quaint. It was a great location, and so close to the trolley and other great restaurants. My brother did not want to vacation in NOLA because in his past stays he had only been to the Bourbon street area. He was greatly impressed with the location and wonderful things to see in the Uptown area. We would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family. We really enjoyed it. If was also a great location if you have a dog. Lots of people in the area have them too and are out walking them.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Everything about out experiance with this property was great!!! The owners were so nice and easy to deal with and responded quickly to any questions we had. The property itself was in the perfect location and had the old time New Oleans charm while still being completely updated. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and it was great to sit on the porch and drink coffee in the morning. The neighborhood was great - friendly people everywhere, and parking was never a problem - even with us being there for Mardi Gras. The house was clean and ready upon our arrival and had everything we could need. We have been to New Orleans many times and plan to stay here at the Dryades House again!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Nice place to stay in the city, close to the Cable car route and not too far from the city but plenty far enough from the downtown area. Property is in good condition and has everything you need for a nice weekend or long week. Charleys steakhouse across the street was very good.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

A very charming place. I personally loved the location and convenience. The key less entry worked out well for our two families, as we had different agendas. Parking was much simpler than I thought as well, considering it was Mardi Gras season. I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

It was affordable for college students, clean, organize and very close to downtown. I most certainly would rent this house again whenever I go back to new orleans. The neighborhood was quite and peaceful. The neighbors are nice and polite. There are resturants close if you don't want to go to the one across the street. The owners were patient with us and help us out. I would most certainly recoomend this house to anyone. I'd be wrong not to.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My friends and I stayed at this house for a long "girls" weekend. We had a great time hanging out in the kitchen in the mornings and on the porch in the afternoons/evenings.
