Our family stayed at this condo for the first time. We have stayed at this resort many of times and love the location and the grounds. The condo was great, love being on the first floor. We get to just walk right out to the koi pond and the pool. The furniture was nice and the condo was comfortable, it felt like being at home. It had all the kitchen items furnished which was great.

The condo is well located with a view of the gardens and ponds and easy access to the putting green, pools, and barbeques. It is clean and well maintained with comfortable furniture, two televisions, a well appointed kitchen, and washer-dryer unit. The sand chairs, beach towels, noodles, and other water sports equipment that are in the cupboard make it easy to enjoy the beach. The resort offers free swimercize and yoga classes which I enjoy and the classes also provide an opportunity to meet other guests. The nearby farm market and local coffee shop are daily stops. We have enjoyed our vacation and I would recommend this property---in fact, we have already booked another stay.
Owner response:Thank you Maggie for the great review. We enjoy having "extras" in our condo such as the beach toewls, chairs, cooler etc... so our guests can get right to enjoying themselves. Papakea is a beautiful resort with so much to offer our guests. We love owning a vacation home there.

I loved staying at Papakea resort. It is a beautiful, relaxed setting for a Maui vacation. The condo is well kept with great washer/dryer, comfortable beds (sofa bed included) and pillows. The golf clubs, boogie boards, beach chairs, noodle floaties and beach towels were wonderful to have access too and we used them everyday we were there. The condo was clean, furnished nicely and very functional for a family. I liked being close to Ka'anapali, but away from the high rise setting of that beach area. We loved going to Napili Bay (about 4miles north) for snorkeling and boogie boarding. Our favorite place for shave ice is Ulalani's in Lahina next to the Cheeseburger in paradise, it was so good we went there 3 times. We loved the ice cream shop by the Maui Aquarium, they had delicous island flavors that I had never heard of and homemade cookies from the Hula Cookie Company. Well worth the trip. We also did a snorkel trip with Eco Adventures and they were so nice, friendly and great food on the boat. We can't wait to make it back to Papakea.

Enjoyed our week at this family-friendly resort complex. The unit was very nicely maintained and equipped. The kitchen amenities were far superior to those in other units rented by other family members. Location was generally peaceful despite being next to the parking lot...certainly made unloading purchases easy and we loved being on the ground floor. Also appreciated the extra amenities of a couple of putters, pool noodles and boogie boards. Despite a family wedding mid-week, we managed to snorkle, snuba, zip-line, go on a whale watching dinner cruise and enjoy some of the nearby and Lahaina restaurants. Can't wait to return. Thank you for the place at beautiful site with lovely grounds and ocean views. Loved the smaller, quieter resort and the proximity to shopping.

This was our second visit to Papakea, this resort is perfectly located close to shopping and beautiful beaches. The farmers market is just down the street where you can get the freshest fruit and the Times Market is within walking distance for everything else you could possibly need. The resort has all the amenties you could ask for. This particular condo was well maintained and had everything you need for a great vacation. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the resort, great front desk staff and Expedia staff to help you plan any activites. We went whale watching, it was an experience we will never forget. The whales came up to the boat, swam underneath and then surfaced not ten feet away. It was awesome. We also took a helicopter tour which was also great. Can't wait for the next time we get to come to Maui.

I had the pleasure of staying in this unit for 10 days over Thanksgiving holiday. The unit is in tip-top condition and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Papakea offers two gorgeous pools and hot tubs (enormous) giving you a super chill spot to grill out, at one of the many grills provided or just kick back with a drink and enjoy the views. The property presses right up to the beach giving you the most AMAZING sunsets every single night! I always had an idea of the colors and beautiful scenery Hawaii would offer, but I had no clue how surreal it was to have that option nightly without spending a dime! There is a grocery store directly across the street which is just one of those things you wouldn't think of, but it makes life so much easier just walking across the street and being able grab anything from suntan lotion to sushi! Also less then a five minute walk you can find a really nice/friendly farmers market. Lahaina is one of the more popular spots in Maui, it is about a 5 to 10 minute car ride from Papakea.. Lahaina offers everything: Shops, restaurants, bars, parks, Luau's, etc..... All in All I think this will be a spot I return to for many years to come. Laurie McElmurry (owner) was extremely helpful with any questions or concerns we had, so don't hesitate to ask... Aloha and Mahalo from Ohio....This place gets my full recommendation! -Stephen!

I cannot think of enough positive things to say about this property! Not only was the location absolutely ideal (close to Lahaina town, close to grocery store, right by the ocean, etc.), but it was extremely CLEAN and affordable as well. At the point the rental period was up, I ended up calling to book an additional couple of nights because none of us wanted to leave Papakea! Laurie responded immediately, and I got to switch right back into vacation mode. This happened twice. Everything you could possibly need at a condo was provided - right down to the bug spray! Again, there aren't enough positive things to say about my experience, and I will be back again and again! Many thanks!!

We loved being able to walk just a short distance from car to front door of our condo! Two grocery stores and farmer's market within just a few blocks walking distance kept us supplied with "everything" we needed. The kitchen is very well equiped and we really appreciated the cooler to take picnic lunches with us on our adventures. Papakea is a very lovely and well kept property and you will not be disappointed by choosing this lovely unit.

How lovely and spacious the condo seemed after cramped Waikiki accommodation! Plenty of room for our party of three (2 adults 1 child) and beautifully clean. We liked being on the ground floor with it's easy access to the gorgeous gardens, pool and putting greens of the Papakea. Well equipped this condo had all the comforts of home and I will certainly recommend it to friends. Ground floor a smart idea when traveling with kids although this means a garden rather than a water view. Bit it's such a lovely resort we didn't mind. The owner was very helpful and friendly and had great suggestions. Hope to stay again one day and thankyou for a great holiday!

Clean, tastefully decorated unit located in West Maui on beautifully maintained tropical grounds. The owner could not have been more helpful. She promptly returned our calls whenever we had questions, and even set up the rental of another unit for a couple of nights during our stay when hers was not available. The bed was super comfy, and the condo was furnished with everything we could have needed during our stay. This will be our first choice of places to stay on our next visit to Maui.

Our stay at the Papakea was a great. The resort had lovely well kept grounds. It was never too busy so it was more relaxing then some of the other bigger, noisier resorts we would go by on our morning runs. The unit was well looked after and clean. It had every thing we needed and was very comfortable. The sunsets out front were fantastic and we even got to watch whales from our loungers. The pools and hot tubs were well maintained. The mini put was fun. There are stores close by to get groceries, rent movies and a really good pizza place in the strip mall a short walk away. It is an older complex but very well kept and we would recommend it and the owner was great to deal with.

The trip was fabulous and we will enjoy the benefits of the warmth and sunshine for weeks to come. Your unit was excellent. We really appreciated the cleanliness and all the kitchen utinsels. Papakea is a lovely resort and I enjoyed the bench by the ocean for early morning whale watching. Will recommend your unit as well as Papakea to our friends.
