This family friendly home is close to downtown Vineyard Haven and a private association beach, yet enjoys the beauty of 2 secluded acres. In the rocking chairs on the covered front porch you can relax with a book, or sit with a glass of wine as the sun goes down, and then enjoy the campfire in the front yard as the stars come up. That's the perfect time to move to the back deck where you can soak in the hot tub and gaze at the crystal clear Vineyard night sky.
The house is open and inviting with a large, combined living room and kitchen surrounded by windows, with vaulted ceiling and beach stone fireplace. It's easy to prepare meals in this well equipped kitchen, complete with new soapstone counter-tops and a fully stocked spice drawer. Meals can then be served informally in the sunny breakfast nook or breakfast bar, or in the formal dining room which easily seats 10. French doors lead to a patio with furniture for outside dining.
The Master Bedroom (with vaulted ceiling) and bath are on the first floor allowing for separation and privacy. The bathroom is complete with clawfoot tub, bidet and oversized shower with two showerheads. The first floor also has a separate TV/Family room with 46" flat screen TV and blue ray player; the laundry facilities, and access to the back deck with hot tub and enclosed outdoor shower.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath, all with fresh paint and lovely decor. One has a queen bed and the other two each have 2 twin beds.
All bedrooms and the living room and kitchen are cooled with ceiling fans.

This house is huge !! Its located at the end of a very quiet dirt road, but still only minutes to downtown Vineyard Haven. We have stayed all over the island over the last ten years and this was one of the best rentals we have had. The owners were very accommodating and made sure everything was just right. The hot tub and ping pong table were a much appreciated amenity for those cloudy, non beach days. The pictures do not do it justice.. this place has TONS of room and it is also very well maintained. If you are looking for a house that is private but still close to town.. look no further.. this property has it all.

My husband and I, our two small children, and my husband's brother and sister-in-law all spent a fantastic week at this home in early June 2010. The house was so comfortable and well-appointed down to the most thoughtful details--plenty of towels, soft sheets, comfy beds, and a kitchen fully equipped with appliances, spices, cleaning supplies, cookware--you name it, we had it. This was key for us since we ate many of our meals in to accommodate our kids, who went to bed early. After they retired, we four adults would watch a movie, play ping-pong in the basement, enjoy the hot tub, or play board games. During the daytime, we enjoyed the porch, patio, deck and spacious quarters inside. The brother and sister-in-law also brought along their dog, who loved the huge yard and lots of interesting places to walk. We could walk to a private beach within 10 minutes for a picnic or to let our son play along the beach. Driving back into Vineyard Haven was easy and quick anytime we needed groceries or wanted a meal out. We relaxed, napped, read, and generally took it easy, and all because we had everything we needed at this homey house. There was more than enough room for the six of us--we even had separate bedrooms for the kids. If Martha's Vineyard wasn't so far from New Mexico, we'd already be planning a return visit for summer 2011!

Spacious, spotless, comfortable, kitchen had everything you could ever use. Outside areas well maintained and beautiful.. Front porch was great! Property location in a VERY quiet area, but near town. Excellent instructions and information about area. Many extras. Beach was wonderful!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Owners answered lots of questions before arriving. The house is huge!! Thanks for a great vacation!!!! PERFECT!!!!!

WOW! That sums up my stay at this beautiful 4 BR 2.5 BA home, minutes from everything in Vineyard Haven. The home is very spacious. The four bedrooms will sleep 8 very comfy and more if you use the couches. The pictures don't even come close to showing the space. It is awesome! All the comforts of home, and a hot tub! And ping-pong table! My family and I spent a week here and had a great time. Bring your beach towels for use of the private Mink Meadows golf club beach. You will have the place to yourseelves.
