Year Purchased: 2001
My husband Bob Green and I, (Mary Ann ) moved to Anguilla in 1995 as full time residents. I have a passion for design and architecture for the past 35 years. Bellamare was my creation from making the blue prints to smallest construction detail. It was a labor of love built as our home where we lived for eight years until once again it was time for a new project.
Bob is well known in Anguilla for producing the internet Anguilla Local News. He started after hurricane Luis as a community service. The hurricane didn’t destroy the island but did destroy the tourist industry.
The internet proved to be the perfect medium for a small island to advertise it’s fabulous beaches.
Why the Owner Chose Shoal Bay Village
. We choose our property location as it it was on Shoal Bay Beach but still private. There are very few properties in Anguilla directly on the beach and Shoal Bay is considered the best beach in Anguilla.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There is great snorkeling right in front of the house and restaurants are just a short way up the beach. But walking the beach every morning was my favorite part of life at Bellamare. I really rarely want to leave.

If you are looking for a charming, well designed and decorated, clean and user friendly place to enjoy a vacation, then Bellemere would be an excellent choice. My wife another couple, who arranged for these lovely accommodations and I spent seven lovely days and nights visiting Anguilla. The staff was not only very friendly and capable but also made you feel like you were their only responsiblity. Anything lacking they provided in moments. The unfortunate beach errosion did present a small inconvenience as one had to climb down a small shoal to access the beach but nothing even guests in their 70's couldn't handle. Once on the beach the walk is spectacular with easy stop offs for drinks, lunch or dinner and, as we did, the daily swims in crystal clear, white sandy bottom water. We would not only recommend Bellemere but we hope to return.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

Wife and I spent our 40th anniversary at Bellamare...truly a fantastic villa with wonderful staff, all ammenities and unbelievable location on Shoal Bay Beach. The villa is magnificent...tons of room yet private. There was not one ammenity that we lacked including a wonderful kitchen, great private pool, wifi...everything we needed! Location is wonderful...views are spectacular and a beach that was virtually empty during our visit. Great snokeling 20 feet from shore! Shoal Bay is the place to stay in Anguilla...easy walking to numerous restaurants and the islands best Sunday music at Gwen's. Very easy driving (altho on left side of the road)...car is a must to see the island! We had spent the prior week at the sister villa in St Barts, Villa Azu. Both are spectacular and we will definitely be back on our next visit!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.
