Beautiful three bedroom single family home located in the Town of Ithaca. We are only 1.5 miles from downtown Ithaca, but it is a world apart. Private lot with private dock and private swimming and grass area down by the lake. Feel free to request additional pictures. New for 2011 -- flat screen HD TV.
This may be the nicest kitchen in any rental you will find. Kitchen has sliding glass doors to large lakeside deck. Cherry floors, granite countertops, pendant lights, dishwasher, garbage disposal, oversized fridge, eat-in table with seating for seven. Gorgeous views from almost every room, including 8 windows in the living room, 3 in the master bedroom, 3 windows and a three paneled sliding glass door in the kitchen and a 6 bay window and large picture windows in the downstairs bedroom. The house has been completely modernized and renovated. It is not a musty lake rental! Hardwood floors and beautiful finishing touches everywhere. You will not walk in the front door and be disappointed. All kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes) and sheets included. Renters bring their own towels.
Bedrooms: Master w/ fantastic views of Cornell and King Bed. Bay Window Room with Fantastic views of the lake and Queen Bed. Purple room with Skylights and 3 Twin Beds (2 can be pushed together).

Pet Policy: Not many upscale places allow pets. We do because we love our dogs and they love to travel with us. This is a great place for dog, not only because they can go swimming, but because the deck and grass are all fenced in. You can let the dog out from the kitchen without even leaving the house. You must clean up after your pet, of course. We charge a $20 fee for dogs that we spend on end of the year professional carpet cleaners.
Cleaning:
House is professionally cleaned between tenants. Tenants are asked to bring up and tag garbage on Tuesday evenings. (Tags provided). Tenants are asked to leave the house 'broom clean.'
Who Can Rent:
House is available to one or two families but no more than 2 sets of unrelated persons (one family, two families, 2 friends, one couple, etc). It is a quite area and is not appropriate for loud/late night parties.

There are not many shots of all 5 of us. In order of age we are: Carolyn, Adam, Nathan, Teddy and Jamie. This picture was Adam's 36th birthday this past March.
Why the Owner Chose Ithaca
Ithaca is a fantastic vacation spot. It is located on beautiful Cayuga Lake, the longest and deepest of the finger lakes. You can boat, dock, fish or swim right off our dock. Ithaca has three amazing state parks with fantastic hikes, amazing views and great swimming, with Taughannock Park just up the road. Ithaca is directly on the finger lakes wine trail and many wonderful wineries are nearby. There are many top quality restaurants and plenty of places to grab a quick bite. If you stay at our house, you will have easy access to Taughannock Park, Cass Park, the Hanger Theater, downtown and to Wegmans (a top supermarket), so you won't have to spend a lot of time in the car. There is also a wonderful farmer's market in Ithaca with music, good produce and a great community vibe. In other words, you can relax and do nothing but stare at nature or partake easily in many outdoor activities, it will be up to you.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The house has several wonderful features. First and foremost is the location. You are directly on the lake. You can swim. You can boat. You can jump in the lake off the dock. You can sit on the deck and relax. At the same time, we are just 1.5 miles from shops and downtown Ithaca. You have all the benefits of the lake and wine country without having to drive 25 minutes to the supermarket. My next favorite feature of the house is the sliding doors in the kitchen. You can eat outside on the deck just as easily as you can eat inside at the kitchen table. As soon as we put in those doors, we had breakfast outside every day for months. It is wonderful. The next best feature of the house is the lakeside deck. It is a great place to sit and relax or BBQ or have a cool drink.

My husband and I recently stayed at the house for our third anniversary. When we arrived, we found the house spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. The house is well equipped with everything that we needed including dishes, pots, pans, and much more. The location was excellent, just a couple of miles from downtown Ithaca. It was also very quiet and serene which made it easy to relax. We were also happy to find a private well kept yard with dock access. This was a great feature since we had our dogs on vacation with us! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The owners were very friendly, helpful and easy to work with. I highly recommend this house for anyone who is searching for a relaxing retreat that offers a beautiful lake view with the convenience of being close to town. We will definitely be planning another trip soon!

Thank you so much for renting us your beautiful house this past weekend. Even though it rained and was chilly, my family and I had a wonderful time. My cousin, my sister and myself all went to Ithaca college and this was the first time we had been back since we all graduated. Spending the weekend on the lake side in this up-to-date cozy house was a great way to reminisce and share stories.

Great accommodations for a relaxing family vacation! The house was move-in ready for our extended family of two couples, two kids (ages 3 and 8), and one grandma- well-kept and upscale while remaining cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped with all needed amenities and some nice extras (e.g., spices, oil etc.). The layout- two bedrooms and a living room upstairs; one bedroom, bathroom, laundry, and kitchen with walkout to a huge deck downstairs- was ideal for our party, providing both common and personal space for together time and privacy. Indulgent vacation eating habits are counterbalanced by multiple trips up and down the lengthy but well-kept staircases from driveway to house and house to lake. Deck gets morning sun that's perfect for coffee al fresco (umbrella required on hotter days) but becomes shady in the later afternoon and evening for cocktail hour. Excellent views of Cayuga Lake and Cornell- dock and small pebble beach are great for jumping, fishing, and swimming. Grassy area with fire pit offers lots of room for play (for both kids and grown-ups!), can easily accommodate most common tailgate games, and is gated from the beach with safety in mind. We will definitely be planning a repeat trip!

Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome time at the lakehouse. So enjoyed waking up to the beautiful fall foliage surrounding the lake and the dew in the air. Walking out to the dock in the morning is the best way to start a day, for sure. The views from the panoramic windows were stunning and amenities made everything super comfy. What a treat. I will definitely be back and have already recommended your place to others seeking respite from city life. :-)

The views from the deck and living room are beautiful! We enjoyed watching the Cornell crew team practice every morning and evening. We brought our dog and we all loved Cass Park. The location is perfect - very close to Ithaca yet you feel miles away when relaxing on the dock. We explored the area and saw a spectacular waterfall and toured a couple wineries. We would recommend this home to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation. We were very pleased!

We stayed at this rental in the Spring of 2010. Everything was just starting to bloom. The deck and the dock were great. We enjoyed fishing and feeding the resident ducks! The location was perfect. The windows make you feel as though you are right there on the lake. We enjoyed being able to bring along our dog and letting him out onto the deck where he could run down into the fenced in grass area. That was a real convenience!

What a great place to stay! The home is beautiful and offers lots of privacy, all while being only a 5 minute drive to downtown Ithaca, Wegman's, tons of restaurants, etc. The views of the lake were fantastic, and our dog had the time of his life between the Ithaca Dog Park and swimming in the lake. The home was clean and offered everything we needed to be comfortable. The kitchen is gorgeous, and we loved being able to walk right out onto the deck. When outside, we especially enjoyed laying on the dock and using the kayaks that were provided. Again, we had a wonderful time and are counting the days until next year's stay with you!
