We are pleased that you have chosen to visit our Radium Getaway in the heart of the Columbia Valley, which is nestled amidst the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus den condo is one of the few 'penthouses' found within the lovely little village of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. You'll feel like you have your own little cabin in the mountains! Comfortably sleep 8 people in 4 beds with pillow top mattresses! The rustic and elegant pine and antique furnishings create an ambience of relaxation and serenity.
Savor freshly baked cinnamon sticky buns on your deck, overlooking the mountains of the Columbia Valley, while sipping fragrant coffee...golf at one of the numerous links nearby; ski at Panorama; hike the HooDoos; take a day trip to Banff, Golden or Fairmont; raft down the Kootenay or Kicking Horse or even Toby Creek...so much to do everyday...and at the end of the day...soak in the 40+C waters of Radium Hot Springs—open year round! Or plunge into the cold pool for a refreshing energizer! Curl up with a good book or munch popcorn while watching a movie. Take a stroll through the village, and watch for mountain sheep and goats or deer ambling along.
Radium Hot Springs is set in breathtaking Kootenay National Park, a UNESCO Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. Immerse yourself in three of BC's most invigorating hot springs: Radium Hot Springs, Fairmont Hot Springs and Lussier Hot Springs. Each offers dramatic settings and soothing, mineral-rich pools, your source for rejuvenating pleasures in the area.
The park's stunning landscape ranges from forested valleys to towering summits. Resident wildlife include Bighorn Sheep, Grizzly Bears as well as Golden Eagles and songbirds. You can swim, cycle, camp and hike all summer long or try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
Bugaboo Provincial Park boasts the largest glaciers in the ancient Purcell Mountains. Hard-core climbers take on the glaciers, while day hikers explore the park's varied trails. The world-renowned Columbia River Wetlands are a vital habitat for an abundant wildlife population including hundreds of bird species.
Windsurfers, canoeists, kayakers, recreational boaters/wave runners and swimmers gather around the 15 km (9.3 mi) long Windermere Lake, exploring nearby James Chabot Provincial Park and Kinsmen Beach and Park. Cyclists can explore single track and logging roads.
Anglers fish the pristine mountain lakes and glacier fed creeks of the Columbia Valley. Fish species resident in Lake Windermere include trout (bull, rainbow, cutthroat), kokanee and whitefish. Anyone fishing in British Columbia must have an appropriate license. Paddlers can navigate the Columbia River on a scenic day trip.
River rafters enjoy the rapids at Toby Creek, the fast running Kicking Horse River or can tempt the boisterous whitewater on the Kootenay River.
In winter, the Panorama Mountain Village resort has more than 100 downhill runs. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is a small family ski hill just south of Radium. The great ski resorts of Kicking Horse (Golden-50 mins), Kimberley (90 mins) and Fernie (2.5 hrs) are within just a drive from the village of Radium Hot Springs.
For great cross-country skiing nearby, try Edgewater, Nipika Mountain Resort, or the trails at Panorama Mountain Resort. Snowmobiling & ATV'ing is also popular in the area.
For the daring, the Purcell Mountains provide opportunities for world-renowned heli-skiing adventures, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2008
Richard and Penny Highet love to use their Radium Getaway for working, relaxing and rejuvenating their souls. Their 'mountain cabin' condo getaway gives them a scenic opportunity to enjoy their flexibility as consultants. Also enjoyed by their 2 chilren and their partners, this Getaway continues the years of escaping to Radium by their families. It is a pleasure to be able to share their little 'peace' of paradise in the Rockies with others who need solace to their souls. Radium is often the stopover for them on motorcycle trips south to the US and throughout Western Canada. Some great rides and we invite riders to soak in the Hot Springs before continuing on their journeys!
Why the Owner Chose Radium Hot Springs
Radium Hot Springs has been a Getaway for both of our families for over 40 years! When we met and married, we discovered this commonality and it has also been our place to retreat, relax, and rejuvenate ever since. Over the years, we have both spent special times here with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and nephews. We have since brought our friends and families to our 'special' place in the mountains. We wanted to make our time here much more special by having our own little 'cabin' in the mountains to go to. So, we set out to create a place where people would have all the amenities that they wished but would have that feeling of being in a mountain cabin. We hope that you enjoy your time spent in your 'Radium Getaway Cabin' and that you will find the time to visit time and again, as the mountains do 'bring peace to the people'.

Nice Condo, Communication Issues

I'll start by saying the condo was nice, new and clean with a rustic feel throughout. The kitchen was well stocked and very usable. Some issues we had: We had booked the condo and agreed on a 11 check-in time, which was important for us since we have a 14 month old and were traveling with my husband's grandparents who are in their 80s. A few days prior to check-in we were told the check in time was changed to 4 since someone else had rented the day we were scheduled to check-in. If you have young children who neep naps, or seniors who need to rest, it's something to keep in mind. On arrival, I went to see if the housekeeper was done cleaning. She wasn't, so we left. We were later told this "stressed her out a great deal." This added some unnecessary negativity to our holiday. There were also no stick-buns as advertised in the listing.

We will never be able to thank you enough for our four days in Paradise! We had an amazing time together on our honeymoon and were finally able to have that alone time. Your condo is absolutely incredible! I was in absolute shock at your attention to detail. You carried the cottage theme throughout the entire condo beautifully and it should be featured in a vacation getaway magazine. You covered every detail from the fully stocked kitchen to board games and a travel guide. The view was incredible and you could not have picked a better location. Radium has everything you need without the crowds, yet it's within driving distance from all the tourist spots. We had such a relaxing experience and the amount of time and love that was put into your condo was quite evident. Thank you for the Memories!

Your condo was very comfortable and exceeded our expectations. We didn't have the time to take advantage of the hot springs but the cinnamon buns were great.

This place is amazing! We all loved the decor and took many pictures with the bear. N. (age 1) did his first somersault on the furry white rug and E. (age 4) couldn't get enough of ...the teddies. Plus-the sticky buns were amazing! To die for! Thanks for a really great, memorable vacation. We needed it! Su-Ling; sister Louise & children; and mom, Claudette

Just got home and I wanted to send you a big thanks. The condo was awesome. Incredible decorations and in great shape. We had some good chuckles over many of the decor items, and laughed at the expression on my adult children's faces as we explained that we actually used a skis like that when we were younger. We took care of all of the details(bedding, garbage etc.) and we came through the few days with no damages or problems. Anyway, everything was fantastic and we talked about returning to radium again in the future as this was our first Christmas type getaway as we normally have so many family commitments that we have been unable to go in the past. Thank you again, and happy new year Joe and Deb

We really enjoyed our stay, and next time we're in Radium, would love to stay at your condo. We meant to check which brand/model of mattress was there in the master bedroom, it was very comfortable. We all enjoyed the decoration, and the thoughtful small inclusions and notes made our stay very convenient and comfortable. Thanks for the stay, look forward to visiting again. Dave

We have stayed twice at this condo and are staying another time. It is very well located. It has lots of room and is well laid out. It has great beds, and great couches, kitchen is fantastic. View from the balcony is okay not great as it backs onto some trailers. The building is new and in great shape. Access to the building and suite is by key codes which is very handy. Reasonably priced. We enjoyed it enough to keep coming back.
