Ocean Front Cottage on Linekin Bay
Beautifully maintained and decorated, this is a quintessential Maine cottage built in 1893 and sited 30 feet from the water’s edge. Located at the head of Linekin Bay in the village of East Boothbay, this cottage and the small working harbor it overlooks have been inspiration for artists and photographers through the years. From the large south-facing front porch, you can enjoy the bustling harbor as lobster boats and pleasure craft come and go. In addition, you can see out to the mouth of Linekin Bay toward Squirrel Island and beyond. Wide steps lead to the lawn, seawall, and large deep-water dock. A dinghy, kayaks, a swim ladder, and a mooring complete the waterfront amenities. A town boat launch is just a short walk away. Farther along quiet Murray Hill Road, you will find The East Boothbay General Store, a neighborhood institution, which offers essential and gourmet items, as well as delicious sandwiches and a great selection of wines. Lobsterman’s Wharf restaurant and Ocean Point Marina are also within walking distance.
First floor: The large living room is comfortable and sun-filled. It has two seating areas, a fireplace, shelves filled with books and games, cable TV, and wireless internet. The eat-in kitchen with skylights is fully equipped for the serious cook. A large dining room, which seats eight comfortably, has French doors opening onto an enclosed section of porch with table and chairs for outdoor dining. A full bath with shower completes this floor.
Second Floor: The large master bedroom with a queen size bed has a wooden cathedral ceiling, windows on three sides, and a view of the harbor. There are two more light-filled bedrooms with twin beds and water views. In addition, there is a full bath with tub.
Area: Boothbay Harbor is 2 1/2 miles away. There you will find restaurants, shopping, a great bookstore, art galleries, library, movie theatre, boat excursions and more. You can enjoy theatre and concerts at the Opera House. The Boothbay Region Land Trust maintains many miles of beautiful hiking trails and the 228 acre Coastal Maine Botanical Garden is a must see.
