'Seaside' has been owned by our family for 8 years now. We are the second owners of this home. The first, an engineer and the builder of this haven, built the home with a variety of customized living features, making it convenient and comfortable for guests.
This 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home has many porches and decks, including a crow's nest at the very top that offers views of the ocean, the sound and natural marsh areas. With the open floor plan, it is easy to find places for the whole gang to hang out, as well as secluded porches to read or nap. You will find a charcoal grill and sitting area on the bottom floor of 'Seaside', making this shady spot a perfect place for cookouts in the hot summer months. On the second floor, the master bedroom features a queen-size bed, with a double bed and 2 twin beds in the other two bedrooms. On the third floor, you will find the living and dining areas and the fully equipped kitchen. The open floor plan of the third floor offers a large and convenient area for entertaining.
For those of you who have never been to Ocracoke, the sites are like no other. You are able to experience the Outer Banks at its finest, without all of the traffic that you will find at other NC beaches. The island is a great place for families and friends to share activities such as off-shore as well as on-shore fishing, bike riding, shopping, and simply relaxing on the beach. The restaurants are wonderful and the locals couldn't be nicer. Drift away from reality for awhile to a place without honking horns and fast food. Don't forget your bathing suits!

This was our first time staying in your wonderful house on Ocracoke. We were so excited when we got to the island, and even more excited when we arrived at your beautiful home. Despite all of the great restaurants on the island, we stayed in and cooked most nights. Your home was extremely clean, the appliances were all new, and the beds were so comfortable! Our favorite things were your crows nest (beautiful sunsets), and the bikes. It saved us a lot of money not having to rent. We certainly hated to leave at the end of the week. Thank you for letting us use your home. We will be back next year!!! For other renters: The owner was as nice as she could be and very easy to work with. Wonderful communication and the home was even better than pictures on the VRBO site show. I would recommend this house to anyone!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My husband and I recently at Seaside in Ocracoke and had a fantastic time! The house had enormous porches on every floor and even a rooftop deck with a view of the ocean and sound! Open floor plan with lots of space and nice size bedrooms as well. House was spotless and had a great home feel. We'll absolutely go back and highly recommend Seaside!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Not as advertised and dirty!

We were very disappointed with the condition of Seaside. The carpet was dirty. The walls and curtains wery dingy. The ceiling fan was loose from the ceiling and seemed like it would fly off of the ceiling if left on. The shower in the master bathroom was broken and unusable. The internet access was advertised as wireless, but a computer had to be hard wired to the modem. The bikes that were advertised as included with the house were locked in a closet and the key was bent and rusted, so we were unable to get them out. There was wet and mildewy laundry in both the washer and dryer. This created a musty smell. When we contacted the owner, she said she would give us 100% of our money back. She ended up keeping $200 and will no longer return phone calls or emails. Do not stay at this house. There are plenty of other wonderful properties on the island.Owner response: This review is so upsetting because it is simply not true. Our home is not only bright , sunny, and ALWAYS clean, but our guests always compliment how clean and happy our home is. The only part of this review that is true is that the shower knob was off, and it was fixed within 2 hours of being reported to us. There were no dirty clothes in the laundry, the walls and curtains are not dingy, and there is certainly not a musty smell. Most of our renters come back year after year, and our guest books reflects how much they enjoy our great house. The three women that stayed that weekend called me and I told me that they were unhappy and had found another place they wanted to stay. I told them I would refund their money if they were unhappy. What they neglected to tell me was that they had already spent a night in our home, had used 2 of the bedrooms, the baths, and the kitchen. This meant that the house had to be completely cleaned, and I charged them for one night. The reason that I would not return their calls was that they began to threaten me that if I did not give them a refund of the night they stayed, they would begin writing bad reviews of my home. I chose not to engage in this. Again, I have never had unhappy guests in our home.
