Families from Canada and the US totaling 14

Our stay at Tybee Island and the property was a memorable one. Temperature during Christmas time was warmer than where most of us came from, which was a bonus. We enjoyed walks on the beach and the serene atmosphere of the Island at that time. The 5 nights spent went by too fast!! The property was very clean, comfortable and accommodated all our needs. The open kitchen, dining and family area is so well laid out that it made it fun and possible for everyone to be gathered together for eating, family games etc. Children enjoyed the hot tub and the table tennis. The owner was very gracious and very prompt in responding to all querries. Our original plan was to stay in Savannah for our family Christmas gathering. We are so glad we found Tybee Island by chance during our search for acommodation. We knew nothing about this beautiful Island prior to this visit. It was very easy to go into Savannah each day for sightseeing and eating. The Breakfast club met its claim!! Some in our party went on a fishing expedition in Tybee river and came back with a trout and flounder which was enjoyed. The bushel of fresh crab cooked and eaten by all will always be remmebered as that was an experience! The location of the property so close to the beach made beach walks very easy. We miss Tybee and would love to visit again. Thanks for making our experience great and for the memories.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful beach home for nine nights in late October/early November of 2011. It was way more room that just the two of us needed but we loved the listing we saw online and it was every bit as fabulous as represented. The home was rock-solid, squeaky clean and gorgeously appointed. The location on the South end, which is within walking distance to the commercial dsitrict, is ideal. My husband had arranged to have some business papers mailed to the home while we were there but the mailbox was locked (for obvious reasons). The owner made two special trips from over an hour away to check the mail for us. She also was very quick to offer the services of a readily available handyman for any issues with the house in case they were needed. We highly recommend North Beach Grill & Social, especially for the menu selections available for vegetarians which can be a bit challenging to locate on the island. Enjoyed the Tybee Island lighthouse and Fort Screvin for the first time and also spent lots of time in nearby Savannah. Would highly recommend this home to anyone. The lower fall rate made this home a very good value and October is the perfect time of year to visit Tybee as weather is delightful and crowds have dwindled.

Beautiful island getaway!

Date of Stay: 10/15/11 Review Submitted: 10/26/11

I just returned from Tybee Island where we went for our annual girls trip (6 women all sisters, cousins and friends). I cant say enough about this beautiful home The location is in easy walking distance from the beach, restuarants and shopping. We rented an electric golf cart (that seats 6!) just a few steps down the road, and easily toured the island and other restaurants and sites. Having the pool and the hot tub was a luxury. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed using each of the multiple decks and patios on different evenings. While we were there, the smoke alarm needed a new battery and with a quick text to the owners, someone came right over to fix it. The owners were very easy and gracious to work with and I felt like I could text or email them with any questions we had before we arrived or while we were there. This home is well kept and really beautiful. There were far more beds than we had people, so it would accomodate a large group. I was amazed we never ran out of hot water after 6 women showering every morning! If you're looking for some luxury while you're on your beach get away, this is a great house! We would definitley rent it again!

Our annual "Sisters Trip" was at your beautiful home this year. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the house was very clean. We walked to shopping, restaurants and the beach every day. The hot tub was very enjoyable and the many decks were lovely. Thanks for everything....

Owner response:Thank you so much! You are describing all the reasons we love the house, location, location, location, and a perfect house for multiple private areas, and the fully stocked kitchen. We love this house and are so happy to hear from our guests who also love it!

What A Joy! R & R at its best!

We had an amazing stay at this spectacular home! We rented the week after our daughter graduated from SCAD, knowing we would need a little R&R after the move out of the dorm. Tybee Island Joy is just that...A JOY! The owners were very helpful with any questions or concerns we had prior to arriving and during our stay. The elevator was such a help for grandparents, lugging groceries and getting the suitcases up and down the stairs. The bedrooms are so comfortable and splendidly arranged; we hardly knew anyone else was there. At the height of our visitors we had 14 sleeping in the house with room for a few more. All of the bathrooms are roomy and modern and the master bath is just like a spa...I wanted to take the shower home with me! The decks are spacious and provided additional seating for meals when friends came out from the city and we even used the grill a few times. The kitchen is stocked with all of the dishes and utensils needed to cook for this big gang. Everyone loved hanging out in the kitchen/great room as we cooked, visited and played games till the wee hours of the morning. The pool and spa area were well used and provided a private area for us to visit with our guests. We enjoyed our leisurely walks to the beach and took advantage of a few of the local eateries like the Breakfast Club and Bernie's Oyster House. Both had good food and service. We have rented houses for vacations before (not on Tybee) but this house felt like a home. We all commented this week about what a great memory this trip was making. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us; it has been well loved this week!

Nice location

The house was in a great location. Was able to walk to the resturants, shopping malls, and the bars. Also the house was in walking distance of the beach. Would come back to tybee again, but would stay some where different the owner of the house was very rude and would never rent from her again.

Owner response:The person who wrote this review ( name withheld) must be unaware that VRBO verifies all reviews with the owners, (using the real name of the reviewer and confirming the dates of stay.) This renter did not stay the dates listed, but did in fact stay in March. She unfortunately falsified information on her rental contract as to the number of people in the home and was surprised to discover our security cams record cars in driveway and our pool and lawn people, contact us on multiple calls to the hot tub, etc. After she left, we verified with security the actual number of people in the home vs what was on the rental contract, and the damage to our hot tub and kept her security/damage deposit. I am sorry she considered this 'rude'. I am thrilled that she liked our location and our home. And I wish her the best of luck in finding another home to rent on Tybee Island.

Wonderful family vacation home

Best beach rental on Tybee Island!! Beautiful home!! It accomodates multiple families, very comfortable, central location, and close to Savannah. We had a wonderful time on our family vacation, and we hope to return soon. You won't go wrong with this rental.

Owner response:Thank you. One of the things we looked for when we decided to build a home on tybee island, was location, location, location! We wanted a quiet street, a place to ride bikes and pull a wagon with grandkids, but yet, a minutes walk to the ice cream store and a 30 second walk to a breakfast buffet. We love the fact that the sixty foot tall oak tree out our front window is in the parking lot of a restaurant, breakfast and lunch place. Sunrise cafe. I love their BLTs. My daughter loves their breakfast bar on the weekends, all the fruit you can eat and eggs and bacon. And of course, we are just a short walk down main street (tybrisa or 16 th) to the pier! And we also love the museums all just steps from our door! Yes, our place is perfect! Personally, I can't wait until I can afford to live there!

This is a wonderful home in a great location. Close to shops, restaurants, and the beach, but on a quiet street. Easy access to Savannah. We spent a week on Tybee Island and spending time at this beautifully decorated home was the best part of our vacation. Comfortable for adults and kids, with every amenity that you could need. We highly recommend a stay here!

Owner response:Thank you, we get a lot of comments about the lovely decor in our home. I personally like to stay in a beautifully decorated home with town and country tye decor!

This is the most beautiful beach house on Tybee Island. It feels more like a fine home! Enjoyed making memories at the Beach. And Grandma loved the Elevator. The home has every thing! Lovely.
