Large beautiful, year-round lake home on golden oak studded 100" lake lot on pristine Maple Lake, 5 miles south of Alexandria, MN. Our lake home sits on the quiet NE shore of Maple Lake. The lake has over 866 acres spring fed water with excellent clarity. Perfect size lake for boating, skiing & sunset cruises. Fishing is outstanding, even from the dock, with Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappies & Sunfish in abundance. The lake is rated top 12 in Minnesota for walleye fishing. Swim directly off the dock, which has a swim ladder. The lake is weed free with a nice, sandy bottom. There is a sand beach 1/4 mi. away located at the convenient boat access area. Bring your own boat or rent one at one of the available boat rentals in the area. The lake side of the home faces SW and has beautiful sunset views from the deck/patio. There is wide open recreational space in back for yard games, as well as an oversized hammock for lounging & a large bonfire pit for evening gatherings.
The original design was a small, Scandinavian cabin. The owner, an architectural home designer, custom designed a major renovation 3 years ago. It's beautiful. Lake home features main floor living room, new knotty pine 4 season porch with glass doors to deck, fully furnished new kitchen with knotty alder cabinetry, new private vaulted master bedroom suite, 2 closed door main floor bedrooms, 2 main floor bathrooms, 2 charming loft bedrooms, lower level cedar/pine family room which walks out to patio, new bathroom & large recreational room perfect for crafting/scrap-booking. A laundry room & additional bath complete the lower level. The bonus room is finished over the garage for quiet sleeping space. The home is equipped with amenities to make your stay comfortable. There is a double+ garage, gas fireplace, 2 large TV's with DVD/VCR combos. The interior furnishings are comfortable and neutral in decor. The owners have been the sole owners since 1986 & have taken meticulous care of their property. This is truly a 1st class vacation home where great memories are waiting to be made.
The Alexandria area boasts many unique gift/antique shops. The lower level recreation room would be a perfect set-up for scrap-booking or crafting. The Lake Woebegone Trail for biking goes right through town. There are snowmobile trails, skiing at nearby Andes Mt. There are also great restaurants, 12 golf courses and the famous Arrowwood Water Park to enjoy. Plan your vacation around community events such as Arts in the Park (late July), Grape Stomp (Sept), Glenwoods Waterama Festival (July), Viking Land Band Festival, Douglas County Fair or wine tasting at Carlos Creek Winery. If listening to the loons & lounging in a hammock is more your style, you can just stay put and relax. Town is a 10 minute ride for shopping and some convenience items are available at the local resort down the road.

Our family (8 adults and 8 children) spent an amazing 4 days in this beautiful, lakeside home. The rooms of the home are uniquely placed to allow for privacy and yet large eating area and family room for the whole group to be together. The yard is beautiful and the lake is superb for swimming and fishing! The home and property are well kept and clean. The process of renting the home was efficient and friendly. The owners are very friendly and great to work with. We had a wonderful family time in a one of a kind lake rental home. . . . if you are looking for a clean, beautiful lake shore home that comfortably sleeps several people. . .this is the home for you! Our grandkids are already talking about next summer and making plans for swimming, fishing, kayaking and other water activities! Our family will cherish the memories. . . thank you for sharing it with us!

Beautiful home. Very clean. Was perfect for our family. Everyone was able to have their own bdrm. space. It was very spacious. We had 10 people. Alexandria is a great little town. Go to Casey's Amusement Park...Perfect for 3 yr. olds,12 yr olds and also us big kids! Would rent again in a heart beat!

All I can say about this lake home is WOW! This is one of the nicest lake homes I have ever stayed at. My whole family was very impressed. It was set up perfectly for a family vacation and was VERY clean when we arrived. It seemed like the house just kept going and going. There was plenty of sleeping areas and bathrooms so we never felt crowded. In addition, the owners were wonderful and very accommodating to work with. They were always available with the numerous questions we had about the house, lake and surrounding area. That was very much appreciated especially for the people coming from out of state. I highly recommend this lake home for vacations, family reunions, or whatever you may need a rental place for.

Absolutely a beautiful spot, gorgeous home, description of property doesn't fully describe how wonderful this site is. We only live 8 miles from here but needed a larger place for a reunion. Could never have found a more perfect spot.Fully equipped, spacious, clean, beautufilly decorated.We guarantaee you will like it as much as we did.

The place was AWESOME! Beautiful home and well supplied with everything! There was 11 of us that went and all enjoyed alot This house is set up perfect in every way possible! caught fish ,layed out in the sun, had campfires,shopped in Alexandria and also Osakis where ther is little shops with antiques. Nice clean lake , good boat landing , nice boat lift at the dock!

We just rented this lovely home for the weekend. We are a 3 generational group of 11 and there was so much space we never once felt like we were on top of each other (the elderly grandparents weren't bothered by the noisy teens). There is lots of room to spread out. The kitchen is new, beautiful and well supplied. There is room for everybody to help out with meal prep. There are bathrooms galore, and each of us had a comfy bed to sleep in. The master suite is new, gorgeous, and extremely comfortable. Much of the home looks out over the lake, and even though cold and snow covered now, it was still beautiful. The home is spotless and very well kept, and perfect for family reunions like ours.
