We enjoyed staying in this home. We really liked the privacy of the fenced in back yard and the tv in the patio area. It was close enough for my husband and I to walk to many places, which we enjoyed. The landlords are very friendly and helpful people. They go over and above to help out in any way.

We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable, dog friendly home and neighborhood! In fact, we have booked it for a month next winter! The dog park is close by and the dog owners were very friendly. We loved being able to walk to restaurants like Casey Moore's Oyster House, Mucho Gusto and Rositas. Starbucks and a French bakery are just over a block away. Fortunately it is easy to walk off the calories since Mill Ave and Tempe Town Lake are about 1 mile away. Freeway access is easy from here, too, for getting to the Superstition Mts or downtown Phoenix. Don't miss the Desert Botanical Garden and the Tempe Center for the Arts.

We were in Tempe for a full week to play in a baseball tournament. We wanted to forgo a hotel so we had our own rooms and just room to stretch out a bit. We came across this house through VRBO and connected with the owners. Immediately a bond was built with Shirley as she was wonderful answering any/all questions that we had regarding the property. Because of the nature of our communication I felt that this was the best place to rent for myself and a few teammates. I am so glad that we decided to reserve this house as it was in a perfect location, clean, with enough room for all of us. We very much enjoyed our stay and utilized much of the house and surrounding area(s). Shirley and Pete are absolutely wonderful people as well as great owners of the property. Pete even took the time to venture out to one of our ballgames at Tempe Diablo Stadium. I would highly recommend this property to any/all that are looking for a decent sized home, in a wonderful area, within an extremely reasonable price range. Thank you again Shirley and Pete for sharing your home with us. ---Mike

I stayed at Pete & Shirley's property for my birthday weekend. The reason I chose this place was because of location, I loved the fact that Mill Ave and Scottsdale were not too far at all. Cab fare was pretty inexpensive. The house itself was amazing, it had everything we could ask for. I realized I forgot my hairdryer and just when I was about to call a friend to bring theirs, I find one in the bathroom! I absolutely loved this house, space was not an issue at all. I would definitely come back next year! :)

Our second stay here was with my mom and sister for my daughter's ASU graduation. This house is immaculately prepared for each arrival and all the seemingly minor details are seen to. Shirley even left a bottle of wine for us to celebrate the occasion. My mom has a walker and was able to get around the house so easily and the stall shower in the master bedroom was perfect for her. As always, Shirley took such good care of us helping us out with an early arrival and a later departure. Next time I'm back in Tempe, this is where I'll stay.

Our family had a great time in Tempe and the house is WONDERFUL! Shirley and Pete went out of their way and really did take care of us by bringing us over a easy up tent for our son's baseball games. The house is beautiful inside and out and the bikes are an added plus to get around the ASU campus. The backyard was great for the kids and their water balloon fight. And for us, just sitting on the patio and relaxing was the best. The place is a gem!

My wife & I were very pleasntly surprised when we rented this property for a week over the New Year's period. The owners have completely renovated this unit into as perfect a home as possible! Nice, quiet neighborhood, a short bike ride away from Mill Ave where the University is located (there are four bikes included with the property). Plenty of room, amenities galore - kitchen has top-of-the-line cabinets and is well stocked with coffee, tea and condiments. The master bedroom is good-sized and has direct access to a covered patio that has a TV and table/chairs on it. Room for a medium RV to be parked securely inside the backyard as well. One of the best Mexican restaurant's in the Phoenix area is a block away - Rosita's. We can't say enough in our highest recommendation of this property.

Friends and family recently stayed at this location for Ironman Arizona. Shirley and Pete made the entire process easy and enjoyable. Pete met us at the house the day we arrived and gave us a tour of the home. Shirley and Pete have a beautiful home and leave no detail out. The home was cleaned, well maintained and were accurately depicted in the photos. Necessary items are provided in the kitchen and bathrooms and the bikes in the garage are a convenient addition. Shirley and Pete even provide a map of the area along with a list of local favorite restaurants. The location is perfect and was very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and ASU. If we were travelling to the area again, we would definately stay at this location again. The home and owners are absolutely charming.

We recently spent a weekend exploring Phoenix and called Pete and Shirley's ASU house home. The house was perfect! Clean, nicely decorated, cozy with attention to details that matter. We felt very welcomed, almost as if we were old friends. Pete and Shirley went out of their way to make our stay pleasant - thank you! We traveled with our eleven-year-old son and our monster of a Chihuahua, but only because she was house-trained and crate-trained did I even ask to bring her. She loved roaming about the big grassy backyard, sniffing every inch. The house is tiled throughout and the kitchen is great. Even the garage is well-done with it's enameled flooring complete with a TV! My husband took a spin on one of the bikes one morning to go exploring - that was a nice amenity. The house is very easy to find, too. It's fun being amongst the energy of the ASU campus. We are very glad to have stayed in this home and can recommend it without reservation for a family looking for a restful place in the Phoenix area.

We stayed at this property while visiting our daughter who is a student at ASU. We were so pleased with the selection. The house met all of our needs. There were six people in our group but we were not crowded at all. We even had our daughter and several of her friends over for a meal one night but space was not an issue. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cookware. The sleeping arrangements were good. There were plenty of towels and extra toiletries in the bathrooms. The bicycles in the garage were a nice surprise. The neighborhood was quiet with a park just a block away from the house. Location in relation to the university was great. It is just west of Mill Avenue, a local "hot spot", and five minutes from our daughter's dormitory on the south end of campus. The owners were very helpful through the entire process. Although this was our first time using VRBO, I'm confident it won't be our last. During our stay we had lunch at Oreganos, went over to Tempe Marketplace, shopped at Old Scottsdale, took a walk along Tempe Town Lake, and drove to South Mountain to see the lights at sunset. It was a fun trip, and staying here was a big reason we enjoyed ourselves so much.

Surprises exist! I had given up on them. My family had need of a short term furnished rental house between our move from Scottsdale to Costa Rica. I found a few online in our area and when I went out for a look, I got back in my car and said to myself, "Isn't PhotoShop a wonderful thing." You know what I mean -- grass is way too green, paint looks too new, sky is a bit too blue, roof is perfect -- that sort of thing. Undeterred I went back online and found Shirley's house. "Probably another PhotoShop job," I thought to myself. Was I ever wrong! The place was perfect. I don't mean it was okay or good enough or would serve the purpose. It was perfect. Inside and out Shirley's home was first class. Recently renovated, everything was accomplished in a professional manner using top notch materials. We found everything to be designed for the ease and comfort of the guest. Each room was tastefully decorated with furniture perfectly in proportion and suitability for the room. No detail was left to chance. The kitchen was better appointed than my house! If that wasn't enough I found Shirley herself to be an absolute joy with whom to work. She was professional and businesslike while being friendly, warm and extremely accommodating. That is a tough balance to strike, but she does it seemingly with ease. Recommendations are a dime a dozen, but the proof is, "Would I do this again?" You bet!! We have booked Shirley's place for another stay in May of 2011 for my daughter's college graduation. If you are looking for a cozy first class place to stay and a host who is warm, caring and does everything to make you feel right at home -- you have found it. Believe me, look no further.

The property was everything i could have asked for, clean, spacious and with all the essentials plus more provided. The free bikes plus the beautiful back yard were the high points for me.The home was well located for Tempe, walking distance to ASU and downtown tempe as well as being well placed for public transport with two bus routes a few feet away which can take you all over tempe and further afield connecting with the light rail which takes you into downtown phoenix.Grocery stores also located along the bus routes if you have no car during your stay. The owners Pete and Shirley were extremely friendly and welcoming along with being flexible regarding my stay.I look forward to meeting them again.

My son went to Thunderbird and after graduation he married a wonderful girl from Phoenix. On New Year's Eve 2009 they had a beautiful, baby boy and as a brand new Grandma I wanted a place to stay a few days visiting them and also having my daughter coming from LA, CA to stay with me. Shirley and Pete's house came to me from heaven! What a blessing...so close to my son's house in Tempe and such a comfortable, perfect house for all of us to spend this beautiful Mother's Day! I recommend this newly renovated house (more like a home to me) to any one seeking for a great place to stay, either touring Phoenix and other areas, visiting family, graduations, anything. We made it our own home with great cooking and a special Mother's Day Brunch. Shopping nearby has everything plus great Malls, restaurants, churches, all.... Lovely house, lovely owners Shirley and Pete, very peaceful, just adorable! Thanks!

This was the second time we stayed at this house within a 4 month period. The house was just as it was the first time - wonderful. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time on the back deck again. The yard is well maintained and we all loved the grass since we don't see much of that where we live. Thanks again, Shirley and Pete, for allowing us to enjoy your home.

This was a great house. We rented it to relax and celebrate the new year and a birthday in great AZ winter weather. The house had everything we needed and then some. The location was fabulous and close to shopping, restaurants, and all amenities of downtown Tempe. The neighborhood is older, but well kept and we especially liked that the house was walking distance to a park for our toddler. The owners were very accommodating and did an excellent job remodeling the house. The entire thing is well cared for and has all modern amenities. The patio and fenced in yard was great for our toddler and dog. We especially liked the added touches of a television on the patio so you could relax and enjoy the weather while watching tv. We would definately rent this home again and recommend it to others. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

For my graduation, I recently rented this house for my family, and found that it was an amazing rental. The owners were very nice and attentive; the house was in great shape and had everything my family needed. The house is in a great location; close to ASU, mill ave, freeways and a park, as well as being in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely rent the house again and highly recommend checking it out.

My girls and I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday together in this quaint home. The owners are more than accomodating and the property is very well kept. It was close to the University and very convenient to get to the places where my children live. If they wanted to stay over and they did there was more than enough room. The biggest treat was the solace of the patio. I spent a lot of time there. Thanks for a great experience.
