“El Precio” is one of Cape May Point’s most beautiful historic Victorian Cottages. It has been lovingly improved and maintained by three generations of the Jordan family. The property has earned three annual Garden Awards for its secluded setting and spectacular display of perennial flowers, and was among the visitors’ favorites in the last Cape May Point House Tour.
Its stately location on Cape Avenue couldn’t be more convenient – just one block from the Beach, one from the Post Office, and one from Pavilion Circle and the Cape May Point General Store!
Cape May Point is arguably the most envied beach resort on the New Jersey shore, with property values considerably higher than its more famous neighbor, Cape May City, just two miles away. Although both are historic beach resorts, the differences between the two communities are striking.
Cape May Point is a quiet little wooded village of 600 cottages, insulated from further development by its island-like location at the very tip of the New Jersey peninsula, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean, the Delaware Bay and state nature preserved lands. A quarter mile walk in any direction from its center will bring you to its perimeter.
Cape May City, two miles away, is a large and lively seashore town with enough bars, restaurants and amusements to satisfy the millions of tourists who flock there each summer season. Visitors from Cape May Point rely on it for its shops, upscale restaurants, and summer theater events.

This lovely historic Victorian cottage has been our summer vacation home for the past 25 years, and 2009 is the first year we have offered it for rent. We now are living next door in a new house that I have designed. Following my retirement as an Architect and Professor at Drexel University , I have written two popular illustrated books on the fascinating history of Cape May Point and on its delightful nineteenth century cottages.
