We had a wonderful retreat in this beautiful home. Fully stocked, clean, and modern; it is a great place to relax for a few days, or a longer stay. The hot tub was fantastic too. This is our second rental from this family, and I would come back in an instant!

My family and I just returned from 3 nights at this perfect beach house. It is located in an adorable community, not far from the beach, very clean rental and the owners were so easy to work with and had great customer service! We will definitely consider this house when looking for rentals in Lincoln City again!

We had a wonderful time!! Everything was perfectly clean, organized, etc. I loved the relaxing decor. I greatly appreciated the nicely equipped kitchen (thanks for having a griddle! I forgot mine and was stoked that you had one!). The neighborhood was super cute and charming. Your communication was excellent - you were so thorough and seemed to think of everything! We can't wait to spend more time in your adorable beach house!

We had a wonderful time. The house was lovely and the neighborhood was fun. I would book another weekend there in the future. The listing description was very accurate, the photos were very accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. I would recommed this house to anyone looking for a nice weekend away.

When I started looking for a place to rent in Lincoln City. I looked at a lot of properties that I could not bring myself to rent. I work for a Design firm here in Utah, so my standards are higher when it comes to staying somewhere, I couldn't bring myself to stay at a place that looked like the owners had filled it with all the old furniture they didn't want at there own home. I call that look Hand me down drab. I wasn't about to spend my vacation in a place where my designer side would be working overtime because the furniture arrangements were wacky or the artwork on the walls was hung to high. I needed a vacation from all of that. When I spotted your beach house, I KNEW I could stay there. Everything was perfect. The exterior was perfect. The quintessential beach house, in the quintessential little village filled with homes of equal charm. Then the interior was just as perfect, No hand me down drab here. Everything was clean, and new, and perfectly suited to the house. I was able to relax and enjoy myself. My family had a good time. Our friends that traveled with us had a good time. We spent the mornings on the beach and the afternoons traveling to Tillamook and to Newport. We hit a few antique shops and a few small restaurants. We cooked big family dinners every night. Played games with kids and watched movies after the kids went to bed. It was like a home away from home. Thank you for creating such a great place. and for offering it to public

Just spent another relaxing weekend at the beach in this lovely home. This is the second year in a row we have stayed there for our girls retreat. There were 4 of us this time and plenty of room to relax, play games etc. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you would need to stay in and cook, which we do for some of our meals. The beds are extra comfy which makes for a great nights sleep. We also enjoy the hot tub for relaxing and talking. Jessica is pleasure to deal with and makes the process of paying for the trip easy. We hope to stay there again soon! :)

This was our second time at Olivia Beach but, our first time in the SandCastle house, we rented the Big Blue "Beach Bungalow" (just 2 door down) that Jessica and Chris also own, last year. We had 12 last year and the Bungalow was perfect, this year we had 18 so we rented both houses. If you have a large family I would HIGHLY reccomend doing this. There was PLENTY of room for everyone and I never felt like there were too many people. It eliminated the tension that sometimes comes when you put a large family in a small space and made for a wonderfully enjoyable vacation with NO FIGHTING, practically a miracle. The hot tubs was outstanding after a long day and the firepit/table was great to sit around after the sun went down. Once again everything was PERFECT. Jessica is a joy to deal with and the houses are wonderful! We are already planning for next year ;-)

We arrived to find the house in excellent condition, clean and ready for our stay. It was exactly as described in the listing. We greatly appreciated the open floor plan as it made the house live large for our group. The carriage house is a definite perk! They truly did think of all the extras that made our stay special from marshmallow roasting sticks to bicycles to toys for the kids and of course the hot tub and fire pit. Between the house and the development it is in there is something for everyone without having to get in a car. Perks: House is spacious, beautiful, in excellent condition and has something to offer for every age. Management is excellent to work with for scheduling, etc. Cons: Flights of stairs to the beach.

This is a beautiful home! VERY clean and comfortable. I was at first nervous because we had three grandchildren with us, but the home is very kid-friendly in spite of its tasteful decorating. We loved the close access to the beach, and the 40-something steps on the home side and the 124 steps on the ocean side didn't seem to slow the kids down any. The grandparents did it a little more slowly but we did it! The beach is not crowded and the sand is clean and soft. Best beach we have been to in Oregon. The neighborhood is quiet, with lots of space for the kids to play. They loved the play set in the central park. The adults loved the nice walk through the neighborhood. Everyone loved the hot tub. The patio area of the home is perfect--hot tub, nice table and chairs with umbrella, grill, and BBQ pit with 4 chairs around it. I want one just like it at my home. The owners were absolutely great at answering our questions and working with us. They have thought of just about everything you could need. We will definitely be back the next time family comes to town.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Sandcastle!! The home is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need which made it easy for us. We loved the courtyard area to relax, bbq, sit around the propane fire and enjoy the hottub. It was very nice to have the fenced-in area for our 2 1/2 year old grandson to play safely in. We really enjoyed the beach and felt the neighborhood and park were very nice. Jessica was very helpful with everything and we found it all to be just as was stated in the description. There is so much to do and see around the town and up and down the coast that we needed more time to see and do it all! We did enjoy the aquarium in Newport, golf, casino, shopped the outlets and breakfast at the Pig N Pancake. We would love to come back again!!

The beach cottage became our home away from home and we cannot wait to go next summer. The cottage is very neat and clean, has everything you need, and the beds are comfortable. We had four adults and two young children and the cottage never seemed crowded. The private beach access was so close and even though there are some stairs to get to the beach; our 3 year old had no problems going up and down them. The people that run the house are so nice and answer any question you may have. We even somehow forgot our son’s bed time blanket and they mailed it back to us promptly. This was the best vacation we ever had.

The house was great to stay at. A little walk to the beach but a night you could smell the ocean fresh air. The house even had a baby gate to keep our 2 year off the stairs while everyone was done stairs. Tons of towels and everything you could imagine was at your finger tips. The only bad thing during our stay was some construction across the street. That was busy. Beds were great and everything inside the house was top notch. This would be a perfect house for people who have kids. Our girls age 5 and 2 had a blast.

Came to Sandcastle Beach Cottage for the third year in a row, for our annual "Scrappin' at the Beach" with sisters, cousins, mothers and daughters. This is our most relaxing scrapbooking of the year - the house is so comfortable and nicely furnished, and it doesn't matter what the weather is, we stay safe, warm, and dry and have a great time. Did some of our own cooking and found all the dishes and utensils we needed in the well-outfitted kitchen. If you're here in the spring - open a window before you go to bed, and the frogs will sing you to sleep!

We take a trip every fall, there are 4 to 5 of us girls, when I say girls I mean we are all 50+. We booked this house on the internet through VRBO. We just got back today after 4 days and we loved every minute of our stay and hated to leave. The weather was beautiful which was a plus since you never know what it will be like this time of year. We enjoyed the hot tub, sitting and relaxing and talking. The beds were so comfy, we all slept great. We stayed in and cooked all of our meals in the great gourmet kitchen. It was one of the nicest places we have stayed in and will most definately go back for another visit as soon as we can. We would most definately recommend this to anyone of any age, lots of space and such a comfortable and tastefully decorated home. Can't wait to do it all again, just wish it was sooner.

The house was beautiful, clean and had everything as described. The beds were a dream to sleep in especially after relaxing in the hot tub. It was central everything we wanted see and do. We went went from south to Florence for ATVing in the sand dunes to north visiting Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach and everything in between (Newport, Devil's Punch Bowl, Depoe Bay, Tillamook Cheese Factory)! We can't wait to return next year and make it an annual family trip.

My family of four, my mother, and my in-laws all stayed at this house last week. The weather was cool for July, but that's the Oregon Coast for you. You can never predict the weather here! We did have a few days of great weather and enjoyed the area thoroughly. The house and carriage house are both wonderful. My mother appreciated the privacy of the carriage house, and the main house had more than enough room to have everyone retreat to neutral corners when we inevitably needed some alone time. The house is tastefully decorated and has many nice touches. Anytime supplies ran low, they were replenished by the on site management company. Jessica was a pleasure to deal with and was very prompt with answering any questions we had. It appears she's as addicted to her Blackberry as I am to mine! The beach is amazing. There are vast expanses of sand and a few tidepools for the kids to explore. The only drawback is the number of stairs there are to go down to the beach. For this reason, and this reason only, I wouldn't recommend this property to elderly people or those who have mobility issues. My mother couldn't go down to the beach, but she enjoyed sitting on a deck chair at the top of the bluff looking down at the kids flying their kites. Overall, I would recommend this property. You won't regret staying here.

Our family and friends had a fabulous holiday in this beautiful home. We had two familes with 5 little girls and it was the perfect size for all of us. You can't beat the location, right by the walkway to the beach and across from the HUGE grass park and play area. We spent time there everyday. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean, with a nice open concept mainfloor. The home owners have been fantastic to deal with and we just booked both of their house for next summer. Can't wait!!!!

Wow....what a great house.....great weather....and great friends. We will for sure rent this house again. The layout is nice and open so you can have lots of people inside and have people in the kitchen but yet still visit with whoever is in the family/living room. The outdoor furniture is great.....the firepit and hot tub are awesome. The park area is super fun too. The walk to the beach is quite a work out but very nice and refreshing. Also the house was super clean when we arrived and ready to go. The beds were comfortable and the rooms nice. The carraige house above the garage was perfect for the older kids to hang and have their own space. All in all the lising on VRBO is pretty right on.....nothing misleading that we found. We will and have already recommended this property to friends. Chris and Jessica were fantastic to work with. Very willing to answer any questions or concerns we had right away. They were very prompt in getting our securtiy deposit back to us as promised. Nice people to work with. Good Times....we will be back. Thank You Chris and Jessica for such a beautiful home

This was our 5th year staying at the coast for Thanksgiving and our first in this house. The house was perfect. We've stayed at houses in Bella Beach and one other house in Olivia beach and this is definitely one of the best. The house had everything we needed (except mixing bowls) and the nicest hot tub yet! At first I thought a flat screen in every bedroom was overkill but after setting up different movies in three rooms for six little kids to roam between I've got to admit, it works! The location in Olivia beach is the best with the park right in front and the steps to the beach right behind. We would definitely recommend this house. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Myself and my 2 children and my mother in law ended up getting pretty sick so we didn't do anything the whole time we were there. We were able to just relax and watch movies and catch up on old times. We thought your house was very beautiful and we got some ideas from the cottage (mother in law house)! We spent two nights, three days post- Portland marathon (10/4 - 10/6). I had one sister from NYC, another sister, her husband and two sons from Chicago visiting the NW. Both my sisters and my eldest nephew ran their very first marathon. It was my 3rd. So, I planned a family and friends retreat post-marathon to the coast. And this is where Jessica Harper shared their wonderful beach home to us. What can I not say about this home? It certainly was everything we expected---literally steps to the beach, all the household essentials, comfortable rooms and beds, with the hot tub which all our sores muscles relished. It was PERFECT! I would certainly recommend the beach home to others, as I've already let Jessica know I intend to rent it again in the near future. Thanks Jessica for sharing your wonderful home to my family and friends.

This house was awesome, everything we were looking for on our beach getaway. It was very clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room for the 4 other families we had stay with us throughout the week. We loved the hot tub and fire pit and it was so convenient to have the park right across the street for our 3-year old. It was a bit of a workout getting back up all those stairs from the beach, but nice to have it so close. We will definitely consider staying here again and have already recommended it to several of our friends/family. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

This was a charming location for my family. I loved waking up in the morning and having coffee on the front porch. The hot tub was nice too. Big enough for the most of us to be in at the same time. The kitchen was big enough for us to prepare a crab feed. The house and adjoining unit exceeded my expectations and were quite comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay near the beach.

This is a very overdue review - we rented the home in July 2009 with my in-laws and two of our three kids. The home was sooo well suited for us, in size, location, and amenities (we particularly enjoyed the hot tub!). The price was great, there are many, many thoughtful details throughout the home, and Lincoln City is a great destination for a family gathering. I have just learned that there is now another home available by these owners in Olivia Beach and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to book their new home or this home again.

My family and I have stayed in Olivia Beach before so I can honestly say if you are looking for a great place to stay in Olivia Beach "this is the place". It has the best location in the community right next to the beach path. We loved the court yard where we were able to dine at the table and then also relax at the fire pit table. We had the security of relaxing will watching the kids play in the secured yard. It is also right across from the park and has been deemed as the best place to stay at Olivia Beach by our family. Jessica is great to work with and is also so prompt with any questions. This is the place to rent....Enjoy your stay.

What a great beach house! It was beautiful, comfortable & in a very convenient location for shopping, beach combing, & sightseeing. Nestled in among other "craftsman" styled homes, the home is in an area that felt very safe & private. The home easily accomodated seven of us & the open kitchen/dining area provided us with plenty of room to cook, eat, play games, etc. The barbecue on the porch was a plus, as was the awesome hot tub! All the comforts of home & then some! Uncomparable to a motel! The owners of the home were wonderful to work with & we will definitely consider a "get away" here again!
