Conveniently Located Townhome with All the Comforts of Home—and Then Some!
Make yourself at home at this richly appointed townhouse that’s close to everything. All the furnishings and carpeting are new and the entire house was spruced up last year.
Enjoy views of sunsets on the lake, Wisp Ski Resort and watch the boats go by from the deck that has a BBQ grill and table and chairs--perfect for al fresco dining.
On those chilly nights, cuddle in front of the wood burning fireplace with firewood provided at the community wood shed. Snuggle into bed at night on a deluxe memory-foam (Tempurpedic-style) queen mattress in the master suite, a luxurious pillow-top queen bed in the second bedroom or one of two plush twin beds in the third bedroom. High thread count linens will make you feel like you're sleeping on silk. The thirsty towels will have you dry quickly.
Each bedroom has a flat screen, digital TV with cable. The three bedrooms each have an alarm clock where you can hook up an iPod.
The kitchen has conveniences to please novice cooks or expert chefs including new electric stove/oven, new microwave, new refrigerator with icemaker, garbage disposal, new dishwasher, waffle iron, George Foreman grill, blender, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc.
There’s a Foodland supermarket close by and a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Oakland (9 miles away). And, if you don’t want to cook, there are plenty of restaurants from casual to fine dining close by, some that you can walk to and others you can get to by boat.
The kitchen opens to the great room with a large breakfast bar that seats four. Beyond that is a large table where six can sit comfortably. The living area has a large TV with basic plus cable, a home theater and DVD player. We have an assortment of DVDs available for your use.
Near the living area is a convenient desk with a computer with broadband Internet access and a WiFi router so use our computer or feel free to bring your own to surf the web. There’s even a printer attached to the computer.
Upstairs in the loft is a air hockey table and board games.
A washer, dryer, iron and ironing board will keep your clothes looking sharp.
You’ll have more space than a cramped hotel room and you can cook the foods you like!
Baseboard heating lets you set each room to your comfort level.
PLEASE NOTE: As with many rentals in this area, the unit does not have air conditioning. The air conditioning is only needed for six to eight weeks. With the summer high temperature averaging only 79 degrees, breezes off the lake and ceiling fans and floor fans keep the house airy and cool.
Use our two kayaks with oars and life jackets (you must use life jackets and must sign liability waiver to use these), which you can launch from the community dock. These are available for use while the docks are in the water.
The Sunplace community also has a dock you can swim off of, a picnic area and a beach area for sandbox fun. The unit has two assigned parking spaces and there’s some guest parking near the woodshed. The heated pool is open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day and on weekends the rest of the year.
Within a short walking distance there are two boat rental marinas and docks, a Burger King, gas station with a convenience store and the McHenry Post Office.
The kids can walk to Smiley’s Fun Zone Family Entertainment Center that features miniature golf, go karts, bumper boats, laser tag, a video arcade, pizza and ice cream.
Within a five minute walk, there are also two restaurants/bars with live entertainment on weekends.
Sorry but no smoking and no pets. (Owners have allergies. An additional $150.00 cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit for violators.)

Renters must be 24 years or older. No sororities, fraternities, high school or college groups. Supervised school groups (gr. 1-8), civic, religious, charitable, etc. are okay. Visited the week of July 16-23. 2011. No AC. That should say it all. The conditions in the place during the day are unbearable. In the ad you state an average temp of 79 with a lake breeze and fans to keep the place cool which is what I'm sure was put instead of just saying no AC. No breeze from the lake and all the fans just circulate the hot air. Whirl pool tub has no instructions so that was un-usable. Seating space in the living room is also terrible. Seats 4. A cable guide listing the available stations would also be nice instead of searching the guide and finding something just to have the tv say that channel is unavailble. Not all bad the WIFI is a plus, the place is beautiful and the price is good but my next vacation will be at another place with AC. Right now at 11:53 PM I am at the pc with fans running and every window open and I am sweating. Being this close to the lake this should not be so. Some sort of window fan or some to suck in the outside air would help. I don't think this review will matter but at least I voiced my opinion. If it was clearly listed with NO AC we would not have stayed here.
Owner response:You can't please everyone... My property listing clearly states that the unit does not have A/C. In fact, there is "PLEASE NOTE . . . " advisory in upper case that clearly states this. Many of the units in Deep Creek lake do not have A/C since it may only be needed six to eight weeks of the year. There are two ceiling fans and five portable fans that can be moved to any room. Our guest happened to visit during a period where it was warmer than normal. I was just at DCL between July 8th and July 15th and temperature range was from the upper 50's during the eveing to the mid-70's. It was definately long-sleeve weather. The whirlpool tub is not mentioned in the ad because it has never worked and the water heater is not large enough to fill the tub. I thank John for his stay and I wish him well next year.

More than enough room for six people, great place. Kitchen was very well-equipped. Good view of lake and just a short walk across the street to lake and docks. Owners were friendly and handled reservations well. We will definitely be renting this place again next trip!

We had a great weekend for my son's birthday. The townhouse was great. The pool was warm. It was near Smiley's so my son could walk there. The owner was great to deal with. Would rent from him again.

My husband and I, as well as another couple enjoyed this home during a long weekend in January. Snow conditions were perfect for our snowboard getaway and the house was perfect, as well! The home is close to Wisp, the grocery store, movies, etc. We enjoyed the views of the frozen lake and wisp from the living room of the home. The home itself is very comfortable...nice, fully equiped kitchen, great tv---the computer and internet was a great perk! This place is perfect for one family or 2 couples....3 couples may have been a little much since seating in the livingroom is limited. It also would suit well for a group of up to 6 on a girls weekend. We'll be back!

My family and I stayed here for a ski weekend in 2011. The unit was appointed just as described in the listing. The location is very convenient to Wisp as well as restaurants and cafes. We enyoyed everything especially the wood burning fire each evening in the family room. We also took advantage of the indoor pool (but the water temp could have been warmer). Looking forward to returning another time!

We had a FANTASTIC week at DCL and your wonderful home was the perfect spot. The location is great - so close to the lake, WISP, rafting and even the movies on a rainy day. The kitchen was wonderfully appointed with everything we needed to cook meals at home and enjoy them on the deck on the cool evenings. Internet access was a huge help in planning days, checking the weather, etc. The beds were comfortable and having the towels and linens there made it so simple. Can't say enough - we hope to be back soon!

We made a decision to visit McHenry, Maryland and had only a few days to find a place to stay that afforded confort and some simblance of a home environment. In my search I found this property, and luckily the dates we needed were open. I contacted the owners and found them to be very accomodating, customer friendly, and excellent to work with. It was extremely plesant to arrive and find a very comfortable condo, with lots of room, all the necessary amenities, a very convienent location, and the perfect place for family and friends to enjoy one another and the relaxing atmosphere of McHenry.
