Location: Oar House is located on a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of a private road with only three other houses (trees screen Oar House from view of other houses) and neighborhood creek access in the redwoods of Cazadero. This home is a few miles from downtown Cazadero's general store. This home is 15 minutes from downtown Guerneville and 10 minutes from the Pacific coast.
House: Oar House sleeps two in a cheery, newly-remodeled cabin in the redwoods. There's a staircase up to the front porch. The living room and eat-in kitchen are open to each other. The living room has comfortable seating centering on a gas fireplace and 26" flatscreen cable TV with DVD. There's a desk with wireless high-speed Internet and a stereo with CD and Ipod dock. The kitchen is new and beautiful with gas stove and dining set for two. The bedroom has a queen bed with high-end linens, and adjoining bathroom with large shower. The living room and bedroom are carpeted. Out the front door, there's a large front porch with breakfast table for two, loungers, and privacy screening. The hot tub is located half way down the front step in its own outdoor room, open to the sky and majestic redwood trees.
Grounds: Across the cul-de-sac, visitors will enjoy a magical garden under the redwoods, amongst ferns and flowers. In a half circle of redwoods, there's a chess table, hammock, and a large stone-paved patio with loungers, dining sets, charcoal barbecue, fire pit, and glider in a sunny clearing. There's also a small lawn. For evening, there are a number of candelabra stocked with candles and outdoor lights strung from the trees. There's a charming outdoor "kitchen" stocked with all the accoutrements for outdoor dining and lounging, including a small refrigerator. On the side of this cottage, near the head of the path to the creek, there's an outdoor shower. The creek is accessed by a short set of steps and easy path.

"Oar House is the perfect escape for two. Such a treat. The home itself is charming, full of character and has all the modern amenities you would want. The bedding is so luxurious, we've never had such a peaceful and enjoyable sleep. The grounds are an oasis of beauty and peacefulness. The redwoods, flowers, and abundance of beautifully manicured grounds made our stay so dreamy and magical at the same time! WOW! Really spectacular. If you like to lounge, play ping pong, walk to the creek or just sit and read, there are plenty of exciting nooks and places to sit on this special little slice of heaven. The hot tub for two is sweet! Oar House is a pleasant surprise! Peaceful, quiet and unbelievably beautiful. The perfect getaway!"
