There is never a shortage of things to do on the Central Coast. You can walk, drive, or ride along the Embarcadero with its wonderful views of the Bay where you can watch seals and otters at play, or eat at some of the best seafood restaurants you will ever come across, and explore the many unique shops. Maybe tomorrow you will be up for a round of golf at Morro Bay's bayside premiere golf course or one of many other spectacular courses in the county. Discover the entire coastline by driving up world famous Highway 1 right along the cliffs and shores of the Pacific Ocean. North of San Simeon you will find elephant seals lying side by side covering the beaches. On up a bit further, Ragged Point is a great place to stop and grab a bite or take breathtaking photographs of the rocky shoreline there. Don't miss Hearst Castle on your way through San Simeon. The castle was the dream of newspaper/magazine magnate William Randolph Hearst, who began the castles construction in 1919 after falling in love with the area from camping there as a child. Take a leisurely stroll out onto the Cayucos Pier where you may see dolphins playing alongside surfers in the waves. Back in Morro Bay you won't want to miss taking a bird watching kayak trip all through the bay or sail the wild Pacific just beyond the breakwater, where you can get a completely different look at Morro Rock and the coastline. Montaña de Oro (Mountain of Gold) State Park is just Southwest of Morro Bay and has awesome panoramic vistas. While in Los Osos and Baywood Park you may enjoy hiking through the Elfin Forest or Sweet Springs Preserve, each along the shores of the bay.
