ON ISLAND OWNERS-we are here ensuring this unit is in perfect condition to welcome you to Maui. Fully remodeled and upgraded unit-granite, tile, appliances, bathrooms, kitchen. Tastefully decorated in island style including tile inlays of geckos, fish, whales etc. One of the few units with an extra large lanai and peek of the ocean through the lush landscaping of the complex. The condo is 1BR/2 baths; approx 850 sq. ft. It is fully furnished with linens, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, snorkel gear, etc as well as a fully stocked kitchen, and ceiling fans and air conditioners in the bedroom and the LR. Most Kamaole Sands units have not upgraded to include the bedroom AC. Most days, the unit is cool enough with just the trade winds and ceiling fans plus the tinted windows, but occasionally you might need A/C, so we have provided that for your comfort. Now that we live on Maui, we are managing the unit ourselves, but it was one of the (if not THE) top unit in the rental program, garnering a rare grade A rating (see comments from previous guests taken from our guest book).

The large master bedroom has a queen sized bed. The LR has a Murphy bed with a very comfortable, queen mattress. The Murphy bed is much more comfortable than a sleeper sofa and has closet space and drawers built in for clothes storage. The bathrooms are full size and upgraded with granite and tile. Hairdryers provided.

Our unit is in building 6, unit 201 (2nd floor). It is a corner unit located in the highly desirable “inner court” which provides a very quiet experience, away from elevator noise as well as noise from South Kihei Rd or the entryways. The view is private and over the lush tropical landscaping. You can see a bit of the ocean from the lanai and front entry (more or less depending on how recently the foliage/trees have been trimmed).

I have an umbrella stroller and an infant (up to 6 months) safety bathtub I can make available if you let me know you need it-no extra charge. I can also loan you my spare set of ladies right hand golf clubs at no charge ($250 refundable damage deposit).

The gated complex is right across the street (2-3 minute walk) from one of Maui's most beautiful beaches, Kamaole III Beach Park. Located on South Kihei Rd, just outside the Wailea Resort area, Kamaole Sands is close to the Wailea Resort's Spas, Golf, Shopping, Restaurants and also to Kihei’s more casual shopping, dining, and night life.

Kamaole Sand’s large, beautiful pool was recently renovated. There are 2 hot tubs-1 adult only. There is a children’s wading pool. There are 4 regulation size tennis courts and an exercise room. Other amenities include a 24 hour front desk and security, on-site activity desk, 8 large BBQ areas, reserved parking next to the building, and property manager on site.
The resort directly charges guests a $15.63 fee at check in to cover the morning newspaper, welcome continental breakfast your first morning by the pool, Wednesday afternoon Mai Tai party (3-5pm), access to the gym, free local phone calls, and $5 credit at Cybercafe. The Homeowner's Association keeps the complex in top shape with luscious tropical landscaping.

The condo has free high speed internet provided (there is no computer in the unit), as well as cable TV, family DVDs, Hawaiian music CDs, and a paperback library.

Basic amenities include starter provisions of Dawn dish soap, Cascade dishwasher powder, paper towels, TP, laundry detergent, bath soap. Kitchen cupboard usually has foil, coffee filters, spices, olive oil and other non-perishables.

Check in is 3pm; check out is 10am. Earlier or later times are possible depending on arriving/departing guests. 1/2 day or full day rate may be charged for late check out.

Why the Owner Chose Kamaole Sands

We were frequent visitors to South Maui for many years. We love the beauty of the area, the ameneties, the gorgeous beaches, the ease in walking or biking where you
want to go. The weather is more consistent than any where else on the island and is generally sunny with nice cooling trade winds. There are many resort and public golf courses near by, as well as tennis courts, snorkeling and diving spots, great casual and fine dining restaurants, hiking, biking, boat trips etc. There is plenty to do if you want a busy vacation and lots of beautiful spots to just sit and relax. Our complex has a great pool, barbeques, tennis courts and beautifully landscaped grounds. Just a short 2 minute walk takes you to one of the best family beaches on the island.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium

In addition to being right across the street from Kamaole Beach Park, most of Kihei is walkable. There are great shops, restaurants, and people watching. The tennis courts are terrific and the property has numerous recently upgraded barbeque areas. There is a Wednesday afternoon Mai Tai party for all guests (complimentary) and free morning newspaper. The onsite gym is excellent and there is a 24 hour front desk, onsite security, and an onsite activity desk.

    • We had the pleasure of celebrating our marriage in Wailea, Maui and all of our family and friends stayed at this complex in Kihei. Ours, however, was one of the best units by far. It has been beautifully remodelled compared to other units. It also has a great location near the pool and the bbq area. Susan and Hal have made every effort to ensure that you have all that you need to start out...even down to starter laundry detergent! All of the beach toys in the lanai were convenient and the kitchen had every utensil that we needed. We barbecued a lot and this unit was very convenient to the barbecues. Best of all, it had the largest lanai of all the units which was great overlooking the garden. We would definitely stay here when we come back as the location was across from a great beach and central to Wailea, Lahaina and the airport and our hosts are very thoughtful. Lynda and Michael

    • This was a great place to stay in a great location. The unit is very beautifully upgraded and furnished. We found the fully stocked lanai to be handy for beach toys and supplies. We wanted for nothing. Kamaole Sands is a very nice complex with beautiful grounds. Kamaole III beach, just across the street, was our first stop for snorkeling every morning. There is so much to explore in Maui that we will be back next year and plan to stay here again.

    • Only three days in Kihea and we found this location to be the perfect spot. We enjoyed the close proximity to the beaches, walking distances to restaurants, coffee shops and Wailea resort area where friends were celebrating a 60th birthday party. We enjoyed coffee relaxing every morning on the lanai and then off to explore the area. Everything we needed was available in the unit for the rest of the day. In addition we were thrilled with the very responsive ownership...forgot some clothing items and they were quickly shipped to us back on the mainland. Thank you Susan!

    • Top notch condo! This is the third time we have stayed at the Kamaole Sands and by far this is the nicest suite we have been in. Large lanai and Everything needed was there. Murphy bed was very comfortable. Would definitely rent this unit again.
