The Clayton House is the most charming home available in downtown Whitefish and was recently featured on the front page of the Whitefish Pilot. It was built around 1903 to be Whitefish's "Southside" First Presbyterian Church. In later years it was converted into a beautiful house and remains that way today. It has been beautifully restored offering refinished, original wood floors, spacious bedrooms with queen beds in each room with the large master suite being on the main floor, granite and tile in the bathrooms, fantastic fully outfitted kitchen with granite countertops and high end appliances, nice dining room with antique hand made table, and a mud room entering from the back of the house with storage for your gear and a washer and dryer so you can come in after a hard day of playing and get your things cleaned right up.
The location is perfect being just one block to Whitefish hotspots such as Mambo's, Loulas, Pescado Blanco, Swift Creek Cafe, 2nd Steet Pizza, The White room Ski Shop, Glacier Cyclery, and just 2 blocks to Central Ave., the Farmer's Market, Gallery Nights, the SNOW bus pick up and two of Whitefish's best parks on the Whitefish River. It is also located just down the street from Whitefish Lake Golf Club, which also offers cross country skiing in the winter, and The Wave Fitness Center. Hop on your bike and it's just a short ride on the bike path along Whitefish River to City Beach at Whitefish Lake. You'll love being able to get to and from the shops, restaurants, and all that Whitefish has to offer with such ease.

I THINK YOU WILL REALLY ENJOY THE LOCATION OF THIS HOUSE AND IT GIVES YOU A FEELING OF BEING PART OF THE TOWN. SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO DO HERE THAT WILL TAKE YOU IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, IT'S NICE TO BE STAYING SOMEWHERE THAT'S CONVENIENT TO EVERYTHING. BEING ABLE TO WALK OUT OF YOUR DOOR AND STROLL THROUGH TOWN IS NOT ONLY CONVENIENT BUT QUITE ENJOYABLE.
YOU COULD CHOOSE TO STAY ON BIG MOUNTAIN, AT PTARMIGAN, OR A MAYBE A AT CABIN IN THE WOODS, BUT YOU WILL FIND THAT YOU HAVE TO DRIVE TO DO ANYTHING INCLUDING SIMPLE THINGS LIKE GROCERY SHOPPING, DINING OUT, ENJOYING THE TOWN'S NIGHTLIFE, ETC. Thanks for a terrific stay. We love the house. The comfort and location are perfect. We enjoyed a snowmobile adventure with Xtreme Motorsports and a wonderful dog sledding experience with Dog Sled Adventures. Jeff and his group(of dogs) were delightful. This house was the perfect way for our family to spend the last days of 2008. The location is perfect for walking downtown and local trails. it was great to have such a great family experience now that all of us are living all over the country. We have enjoyed our five nights at The Clayton House. Being able to enjoy sustained time with our entire family has been important during this time in our lives. The size of this home was comofortable and the number of bedrooms made it possible for us to stay here. You are correct in the convenience of this house to downtown. We were able to walk to shopping and eateries. It was also a convenient launch to Big Mountain. Our family hopes to gather in Whitefish again. Two military members are headed out to deployments, so it's hard to say how soon we will all be together again. The Clayton House has truly offered us a priceless holiday experience. Thanks for a great stay. We had a great time and really enjoyed the location at this house. We walked downtown and did some shopping and walked to The Wave and did some swimming. Great house for a family of five-plenty of room - and warm considering it's been below zero degrees everyday this week. LOVED the wirelss internet-a must! We got a lot of work done. Thanks for such a great house to stay in!.....The Wrights....Portland, OR.
