The private street avoids the heavy traffic of Hampton summers, yet is is located just five minutes from the heart of Bridgehampton, a famous vineyard, horseback riding facilities, a fabulous golf course drawing players such a former President Bill Clinton, local fresh produce stands. It is five minutes away as well from a famous yoga center, the grounds of the Hamptons Horse Classic, and is ten minutes away from the ocean either the bay side, or the ocean side. A local nature preserve open to the public is just a few miles away.
The house is in the woods and feels serene and nourished by the woodsy yet landscaped yard. No neighbor is closer than half an acre away and most are further away. Across the street, polo ponies graze and you can see the back of the Atlantic Golf Course and Club.
The pool is attached to the house by a deck. Two bedrooms have sliding glass doors directly to the deck and the area is so private one can swim naked with no sense for concern about neighbors or people out walking seeing you. The light into the house is indirect giving the house a cool den like interior, yet light is everywhere due to the number of windows and sliding glass doors.
It is an upside down house with the kitchen, living room, library, and third bedroom upstairs. The space upstairs flows like a loft but there is an eat in kitchen area and doors can be closed off to the rest of the upstairs. There is a balcony upstairs with steps going directly down to the pool area.
The basement is where the washer/dryer, and tread machine is, and there is a meditation room down there as well.
The library alcove walls are lined with books from floor to ceiling.
There are two working fireplaces. One is in the living room and one is in the downstairs bedroom.
Air conditioning has regulators on each floor.
The land is completely fenced so that a pet can enjoy the outside and be safe from traffic or getting lost by running off.
