Destiny by the Sea is a small, gated community boasting many of the panhandle's finest homes. Built to the latest codes this home has 24 inch steel beams running throughout the entire home to provide for the utmost in hurricane protection. The quality of construction and meticulous attention to detail set this home apart from the rest.
This beautiful home is directly gulf front and sleeps up to 17 people comfortably. The home boasts two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa on the first floor. The first floor also has a full size kitchen, living area, laundry, and sun room. The second floor has another bedroom, full kitchen, and living area. The third floor has two additional bedrooms, an office, and a huge master suite with a private balcony. There is a private elevator in the home to service all three floors. Spiaggia has televisions located in every bedroom, including 50 inch HD televisions in the living rooms. The entire home is adorned with fine furnishings to help you enjoy your stay. The home is outfitted with wireless internet in case you must work. We also provide a dvd collection, board games, and video games for the kids.

For a beachhouse to rent for $1,371 per night you would not expect to find long strings of carpet snags laying on the wall-to-wall carpet throughout the house (could have easily been clipped off so as not to look so shabby), you would expect to have all the over sink bathroom lights working (many were missing bulbs), all door handles to be on and working (many were missing or loose), all kitchen drawers and cabinet doors working properly (many were off hinges or off tracks), both remote garage door openers working (only one worked and that was "iffy"), audio/video equipment improperly wired (had to constantly change wiring around to watch TV/DVDs/etc. and more than two sets of towels in the first level bathrooms. Exterior doors were all stuck and much general disrepair found all around the house. Garbage cans were woefully inadequate throughout the house (kitchen excepted). Check-in personnel indicated that maintenance personnel would be over immediately to replace missing light bulbs and re-attach broken door knobs...no one ever showed up during our week-long stay. Were it not for the great location and a wonderful family time with 16 of us we would have been very dissapointed. All the shortcomings could have been easily resolved had someone taken time to go through the house prior to our arrival. Don't know why it didn't happen??????Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My company and I recently took a trip to Destin and stayed in the beautiful Spiaggia. We had 11 people and we were more than comfortable during our stay. The wireless internet was fast and allowed for us to work a couple days during our stay. The views were great and the direct beach access was very convenient. The only 'problem' we had was that the rising tide took away our beach. Fortunately, we were able to walk several houses down and enjoyed it all the same.
