We stayed at Windswept because our daughter was getting married nearby. The house provided a lovely setting for our family. The accomodations were lovely, the view spectacular. It was a pleasure to business with owners who were great to allow us to extend our stay. I would recommend this to anyone.

We rentedwindswept three years in a row. Always enjoyed. Made a reservation and dep for this year may 2012 but had to cancel due to not being able to drive up to gualala. Was told there would be refund and that was great. todate no refund or response to correspondence. Asked what refund policy was when first rented windswept. Was told it would be looked into. Hopefully still waiting for a refund.

This was our 3rd trip to this wonderful vacation home. The ocean view is spectacular and the sunset is wonderful. we saw a doe and her fawns nestled down in the bushes, below the frontroom window for two days and watched the doe come up the hill right by the dining room window to feed. The owners are very nice people to work with.

We booked this property in February 2010 for a September 2010 stay. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with - we had to change our dates, and she accomodated us with no issues. Very easy process to secure your dates and to check in and out. Frankly, this was one of the easiest VRBO rentals I've dealt with, because I didn't have to coordinate with an owner for check in or check out, and she provided all the information needed upon her receipt of the deposit. The house is more lovely than photographed, if that's possible. It didn't disappoint any of us at all! If you are a confident driver, there are several options to getting to wineries in a reasonable amount of time, making this location more that suitable for both a coast break and winery tours. I think the only thing that could make it better is for departing guests to understand that a cleaning service does come in - to clean. They probably don't redo the dishes, or clean up grill disasters or fix non-working equipment - especially if they don't know about it. Do the next guest a favor and clean up after yourself (dishes/pots/pans) and treat all of the equipment with respect. This owner offers a great property at a great price - help her keep it that way! I don't think most would be disappointed at all in this property, and I've forwarded this property to the 4 people I know here in Ohio planning California coast vacations. Thank you again, to the owner, for her part in a great break from Ohio's heat and humidity.

Fabulous!! Windswept was everything they said it was and more! The pics do not do it justice! Gualala was very small and quaint but fun! Had a great time walking to and from town. Owners were very sweet and helpful! When we got there plants out front and in sunroom were dying - we watered them lots, remember to do same. Have a great time!

We had a girls getaway for 3 nights & this place was perfect! The view was out of this world... It was nice & clean & had tons of room! I can't wait to go back during whale season! For those who have never been - there is a perfect little beach cove called Cooks Beach. It's not far of a drive & you just walk down a little path & you are there! Thank you Peter & Casey for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We have enjoyed windswept for two years. It is a home away from home. The views of the ocean are wonderful from the frontroom and the lower bedroom.. There is every accomodation available to you. The owners are great to work with. Their recommendations of restuarants is very good. We hope to go back to Windswept for another visit soon. Diane.Pleasant hill ca.

Just returned from a very relaxing stay at this location. The house was very beautiful, well-appointed and in a spectacular location. The decor was tasteful and interesting. We were concerned about getting supplies (groceries) in Gualala, but found no problem there. Getting there took a little longer than we expected. I'd avoid Mountain View Road (route 253 between Boonville and the coast) if I were you. Lots of ants, so be extra careful leaving any food or drink items out. We enjoy exploring different coastal communities each year, but the charm of this place makes it hard to say we won't be back.

My husband and I recently visited family in California. We stayed at Windswept for 2 nights with 5 other adults. The house was very clean and spacious. The views of the ocean were gorgeous. We would recommend this house to anyone who wanted a quiet getaway. The family was very helpful in planning our trip and they even sent a thank you note. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for making us southerners feel at home with your hospitality.

Wonderful, roomy, clean home with fantastic views. Spent 5 nights, walking the beaches on sunny days and just enjoying family time in a beautiful location on rainy days. Home owners very pleasant and easy to deal with. This could be the start of a new family tradition!

Incredible views from the deck, living room and master bedroom, the house was perfect for a quiet weekend. A short drive to the beach, hiking trails and over the hill to wine tasting, we could not have asked for more. Plenty of room for bigger groups or a quiet weekend away. The only trouble is you never want to leave the house.... We'll definitely be coming back!
